A guest from Tampa, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2016 Family gathering..farthest from it. We were scattered all over the complex. It was difficult to be with each other. Our room had some issues which could be easily fixed. Not sure why the staff doesn't take care of these issues/ Also NO WIFI (that was dependable).
A guest from Cape Haze, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2016 Quiet, fulfilling, and a great adventure. Quiet. The beach wasn't peaceful and enjoyable no matter what time of day I was there.... from early in the morning to after dark. Most of the places I have stayed at, the beaches are so overcrowded that it hard to enjoy the time away. Fulfilling. I came to experience something that I couldn't experience at home in Indiana. The wildlife, ocean, and beach didn't fail me. We saw manatees, dolphins, turtles, various crabs, lizards, and even an armadillo. And so many different types of shells to look at. The staff was beyond what I expected by treating me like royalty. A great adventure. I was amazed by the fact that I didn't need to leave the island to find something to do every day. The island is large and has a lot to explore. The have bikes, canoes, paddle boards, and kayaks you can explore it with. We rented the kayaks and didn't need to paddle too far for an exciting adventure of manatees and a hidden lake. Thanks Palm Island Resort! Best vacation ever!
A guest from Zephyrhills, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 Resort itself kept up really well. Restaurant substandard, as it has been for a while. Apt. furnishings and appliances may be 20 years old.Still the resort's natural location and good upkeep is always worthwhile.
Nice island, friendly staff....unit needs some updates
Laurie K. from Winnetka, IL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 Unit 3512 was well located, but very tired. Toilet in master required multiple flushes every time, WIFI was terrible. There were no beach towels available....we had to buy for $20 each. Walls very thin, heard every sound from upstairs.
Barbara M. from Ft. Myers, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2016 We stayed on the island and it seemed pretty obvious that the owners would rather we stayed is very relaxing.
Patricia G. from Placida, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2016 Not much to do in that area except golf, without a considerable drive. Even to golf you need to take a car ferry. The resort had tennis, kayaking, pools, etc, but just relaxing was enough for us. It is very quiet and peaceful there - no crowds on the beach fighting for space, no car noise. We really enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets over the Gulf. Shelling on the morning after a storm was unbelievable. Golf cart rental to get around was a bit pricey, but depending on where your unit is, you might be able to get by without one. Lots of steps, even to the first floor units and the restaurant. The restaurant was very good, as was the one you can take a water taxi to. We loved the screened porch and had our meals out there. If all you care about is quiet relaxation in a beautiful spot, this is the place for you.
William S. from Placida, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2016 Lovely place. Great staff. Nice beach and pool/hot tub. A little awkward getting on and off the island, but but peacefulness made it worthwhile.
Renee C. from HUDSON, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in March, 2015 Absolutely love the location, the beach and the quietness of Palm Island! BUT THE UNITS NEED UPDATED....we have been returning for over 20 years and little has changed ...there needs be new mattresses and bedding provided!! And the kitchens also need updated (appliances ...range) and to have more bowls and containers for those who choose to cook in (4 bowls total make it difficult to make dips, fruit salad, pasta salads etc)....we needed to by tupperware at the store in order to enjoy leftovers....that seems silly! and a fresh coat of paint every 2-3 years would seem reasonable considering the amount of use these units get
Alex C. from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 We had a great time during our stay. The only thing I was not happy was the distance we had to walk to get to the beach. When you are hauling a cooler, beach umbrellas, towels etc, it becomes a very long walk especially on the sand. Fortunately for us we found a path we were able to drive the golf carts closer to the beach which made the hauling easier. The kids, wife and myself are looking forward to getting back there next year. Again we had a great time.
Sylvia L. from boynton beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 We had stayed here 3 years ago on a Groupon and this is how we came to know the place. Overall, the island is great , relaxing the water is superb . The problem was our unit . It was not too clean. Dust and rust in a lot of the unit. Terrible insulation were up till 3 am the first night and 1 am the second as a result of the noise upstairs . The bathroom was dated and dingy.
A guest from Dover, New Hampshire recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2014 If you are looking for peace and quiet in a lovely setting, this is it! The management was friendly and professional. I can't wait to go again.
Jody J. from Ft Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 My only complaint is that the master bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. On the back of the toilet there was an inch layer of poop upon our arrival.
Kari A. from Talllahasse, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 We enjoyed the lack of people. If you and your family want some privacy away from the crowded beaches of PC and Destin, this is it. We will for sure return. The fishing trip with Matt was perfect. The best captain ever.
Charity T. from Lithia, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 Palm Island has never been known for their hospitality or their service and this trip was no exception. The location is wonderful, the beaches are beautiful, the villas are dated- but generally nice, but the service is ALWAYS lacking- at the front desk, maintenance, Coconuts, Rum Keg, and the Golf Cart stand. We had roaches in our unit and I called for maintenance that never showed up on the same day but after a 3rd call showed up the end of the second day- unacceptable!! Especially when you are paying premium to stay there! Overall, the actual setting is very nice, but every time we go back ( because of the convenience and beaches) I question our stay because the staff and management have NO CLUE what they are doing.
A guest from Palm Habor, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in June, 2013 We're roaches in unit and washer and dryer run poorly
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Jennifer, We are so sorry to hear that your stay was less than you had anticipated. We strive to ensure the quality of our resort and will take the necessary steps to resolve these issues.
Joe A. from The Village's, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 A unique, relaxing place
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Joe, Thank you for your review of your recent stay at Palm Island Resort. We are always happy to hear that our guests have enjoyed their stay. We hope to welcome you for another visit.
Cody S. from Ft. Meade, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 We recently went to palm island resort for 3 days. I can honestly say it was like paradise. The rooms were immaculate, the grounds were maintained, and the staff was very friendly. You can't beat the seclusion you get when you come here. I have vacationed all around the island but never on it. I would never go anywhere else but palm island resort when vacationing south Florida.
A guest from HUDSON, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in March, 2013 We love Palm island and have been returning for 20 's relaxing and the beach is perfect! It would be ideal if the mattresses' got updated periodically and if the kitchen appliances got upgraded too! We stayed in a relatively nice unit but I don't think the bedding has changed since 5 years ago when we were there. We enjoy cooking and the appliances are probably original...over 20 years old??? It would be perfect if the units had a set of Rubbermaid storage containers for left overs:)Finally, the new rum bay store is useless...truly who wants to by fancy serving dishes, and tableware on vacation. The merchandise is nice but we don't visit PI for boutique shopping... our family missed the "candy store" going up each day to buy snacks, icecream bars, and the stuff kids spending money can afford. What was transferred down to Coconuts is so family didn't want a get a cone everyday...maybe I should thank you for saving us money since we only spent a quarter of what we normally when we visit. It will be interesting to see how your sales compare between the new stores' model and the old stores'.
Jeanne H. from North Port, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 we come to palm island for family time. We're very pleased with the clean beaches pools and area. Plus safe for the kids to ride their bikes and play with other kids. We've been back four times and going back in oct.
A guest from Port St. Lucie, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 Very delightful. Definitely surprised the husband. Our trip to the Rum Bay restaurant was a wonderful experience. The service delivered by Bird was impeccable. There was spacious rooms and the Kitchen was set up well with most of the needs for cooking. Happy to see gas grills so close to the villa. Our overall experience was totally satisfying, even my 19 year old son wanted to stay another day.
A guest from Wesley Chapel, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2012 We've been vacationing at Palm Island Resort since before our son was born and now it's his favorite place on earth. Marty at the reception center always goes above and beyond. Thank you!
BETH W. from Crystal Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 We had a great time with my 90-year-old dad. My husband and I have visited here MANY times since the early 1980's, and never tire of the comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Rented a golf cart for the first time, and enjoyed the water ferry to Leverocks -- saw manatees and dolphin along the way. Wonderful staff at the restaurant, bar, reservations -- can't wait to return!
Tabytha B. from Cape Coral, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in December, 2011 We got there and service was great! Even the guy who brings u across the water to that restaurant was kind. He was closing up at 730 on sat note and offerefoot take us to and from there even though he probably wantd to go home. The room was a little dirty tho. There were crumbs on the leather chair in the living room as well as the table in front of the tv. Black out curtains would have been nice with all those windows in the master bedroom as well. Over all it was quiet and we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks
John L. from Winter Park, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 Enjoyed having a dock that accommodated our 30' sailboat - It was a great way to get the teens off the baot for a couple dayd while we sailed the area of the Gulf of mexico near Knights Island [AKA Palm island]
Patty H. from St. Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in October, 2011 We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to booking another weekend in the near future. Great getaway!!!
WOW..Someone not impressed often. VERY IMPRESSED!!
A guest from Fort Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2011 For what it is I dare you to find a better location or property for the price. The beach is amazing, accommodations were warm and comfortable, staff was pleasant and welcoming, grounds were manicured. I would stay there again without hesitation.
Leslie W. from Ocala, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2011 The unit we stayed in was not our favorite but we love Palm Island and it did not take away from our stay. The porch furniture was in rough condition with a broken chair, also the dining furniture in the unit was very worn and had ragged caning. The staff and other ammenities were wonderful as always and we hope to be back in a couple of weeks.
Tim N. from Gainesville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2011 We had two units - one for us and one for our adult children and families. It was a wonderfully relaxing several days and a great time was had by all. The beach, warm gulf waters, shelling, perfect weather and beautiful sunsets all added to our enjoyment. Our 5 yr. old granddaughter especially liked the pirate crafts and getting her face painted. The guys had fun on their fishing trip even though they didn't actually "catch" any fish. They had a few on the line but the tarpon won the battle! The condos were very comfortable and for the most part had everything we needed. One small complaint is that the pillows were flat and not comfortable at all. However, with all the other great amenities and comforts that the resort has to offer, we will definitely be back again.
Joan A. from Venice, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2010 Overall wonderful, although we had my handicap mother in law with us and everthing was difficult for her. Not a handicap are tovisit.
A guest from MIAMI, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2009 The location was great and the apartment was big and comfortable. We felt very safe in there and my kids loved it. The apartment had some minor problems such as a partially clogged drain in a bath tube and a non-working food disposal, but the maintenance staff was very helpful and fixed it all. The staff there is great. My son forgot a rain coat in the apartment. I called the island about a week after we came back. They located my son's rain coat and mailed it back to me on the same day I called. I'll definitely come back and recommend it.
A guest from ERIE, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2009 It was absolutely beautiful. We went down to watch baseball, and the ferry's were a small concern before we got there, but it worked out perfectly. We made each game in plenty of time and had a nice relaxing place to come back to.
Palm Island Resort is our favorite family vacation destination!
Deanne O. from DELAFIELD, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2009 The only disappointment was Rum Bay Restaurant food ... barely edible. Otherwise, our Palm Island experience was wonderful. Thank you for another great spring break!
GERALD R. from MILWAUKEE, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2008
Property Manager Response:

PAUL L. from WYOMING, MN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2008 the unit should be checked for bed bugs. also the pool was ice cold and the tempture in florida was about 72 not a fun time in a unheated pool
unhappy with 3312 due to unit condition, moved to 3512
Hope D. from Jupiter, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2008 We have been visiting the resort for 15 years, at least once a year and have always been pleased with the resort, however this year the unit we were originally placed in was not updated at all and showed it's 20 years of wear! We were extremely disappointed with the unit condition, then the refrigerator was not working and the front desk wanted to put our weeks worth of groceries in ice chests! Sorry but I have done that with the 3 hurricanes that hit my home and I did not feel that would be reasonable since the island seemed pretty empty. Then the manager asked if we wanted to change units, well who really wants to pack up and move again, especially while on vacation! But we did not have a choice as the room would not be adequate to hold us for the week. We packed up and moved to another unit, the next unit did have an updated decor, IE..new paint, pictures and some updated furniture. The refrigerator did work, but the rest of the appliances in the unit were lacking. My main problem with the other unit was the master bedroom's mattress was sagging in the middle and was very uncomfortable. My family would normally say they did not want to leave and could not wait to come back again, but upon leaving this time we think we will try another beach destination. It is really sad for me and my husband because my children have some really fond memories from past times but feel we will spend our vacation dollars elsewhere.Regretfully,Mrs. Descalzo
Property Manager Response:

Scott T. from PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2007 This is a great place for a family vacation. Ourselves and another family have visited a couple of times and have had a wonderful time.
