Lovely weekend at Palm Island
Kristine S. from Saint Louis, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2017 This was our first time at Palm Island and loved the resort! Our condo was perfectly situated to watch sunsets and enjoy the beautiful January weather. The staff was wonderful, and all of guests were extremely friendly. The property grounds and buildings were in great condition. This truly is a hidden gem, and we look forward to coming back for a longer stay. The condo where we stayed is in need of new flooring (especially at the superior level), but otherwise it was a perfect place for a getaway weekend.
A guest from St. Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2016 Staff is super nice. Property is immaculate and wonderful. We love the location of this unit. We stay in it regularly. Something I would like improved, but no big deal: Restaurant has the worst food I've ever had at a restaurant. Tried it a couple of times and it's a doozy! We would love to have a nice restaurant right there with good food and that serves breakfast.
A guest from Sarasota, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2016 We were part of a group that had activities on the mainland. Our unit was under repair so we were put on the Island. Problem was you can only use your car to get back to your villa once a day and you need a golf cart to get around. We could not use the people ferry as it stopped at 6pm and we had dinner at Leverrocks which was one of the worst dinners we ever had. The fish was all dried out. The villa is very nice and we had beach front. The pools that are around are very nice. Rum Bay resturant is very good. If you want to get away from it all come here and be sure to bring lots of groceries and have no plans to leave the island. Plus a golf cart is necessary as cars are not allowed even though on line it looks like there are roads. Over all I would not recommend this resort since there are many more in Florida that are superior.
A guest from Dacula, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2016 Our room was very nice...somewhat older than I expected. Decor was lovely. Kitchen equipped. Rooms were clean, but some of the walls needed touch up paint. Our main complaint was the noise. We were only in our room for 2 nights...if we had been staying longer, we would have requested another room. There were 4 people staying upstairs, and we could hear their every move. Could even hear their toilet flushing and when they were running water in the sinks. When they were on their balcony, we could hear them in our master bedroom. Beyond annoying.
A guest from marietta, georgia does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2016 Overall, we had a great weekend. This was our third visit to Palm Island and we were very excited to come back for a long relaxing weekend. The location of the villa is great! It is very close to the beach and is on the first floor. As always, the entire staff at the resort were awesome! They are friendly, helpful and professional. We had trouble with our golf cart and had to swap it out, but the staff was great and did not rest until we were satisfied. They should be commended for their exceptional customer service. Sadly, however, we experienced several issues with the villa itself - our least favorite so far. The biggest problem was having no Internet service. Apparently, the owner of the villa has elected NOT to participate in the free Internet guest service program for those units not close enough to the common areas to access the Property's free wi-fi. So, we ended up having to pay for internet access for the entire weekend. For what we paid, free internet really should be provided. Also, the cable television service in this unit is the cheapest, most "basic" cable available. We had to watch several football games on our computer. In the other two units we rented, the Internet was free and the cable service was exceptional! Finally, on our last afternoon/night there, the air conditioning went out! Thank goodness for that ceiling fan! We booked at the last minute this year, and this was the only unit available. We now understand why. Some of the amenities have been upgraded, others have not. The extremely old carpet was shabby and seemed a bit dirty. Many features and fixtures are extremely old and dowdy. In our opinion, this property should not be rated as "Superior". We have stayed in a "Standard" unit that was nicer than this one. Management was very sympathetic to our concerns and handled them with their usual positive attitude and professionalism. We look forward to returning next year, just not to this unit.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in September, 2016 We had a wonderful time located right on the beach and nearby the pool. The condo met our needs and was very comfortable as well as spacious with a Florida room that fully opened to the living area. As it is a pet friendly villa, I would recommend removing the baby blue carpet in the main living area and replacing it with tile, as a couple of prior stains were still visible although clearly it had been cleaned. The master bedroom sheets were so comfortable! We loved the king size of the bed and the closet space. The master bed would benefit from updated comforter and blanket as they were dated with a pink stain on the comforter. The place was very clean though with all of the appliances of a regular home. The toiletries, kitchen paper and washing products, coffee starter pack, and laundry starter pack provided made it an even more comfortable vacation. We were also very impressed with the yummy and tasty welcome gift basket with sweet note for our honeymoon. We loved our stay and can't wait to get back to the island!
Linda T. from Port Charlotte, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2016 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We only live 23 miles away but this is like another world to us! Quiet and peaceful, which we needed to relax! Lush flora and shell and sand roads and paths! No vehicles except for contractors. Great decor in our villa/condo and very comfortable! Outstanding views from our villa/condo and great beach and pool! This was our fourth visit in3-1/2 yrs and we will be going back soon!
A guest from Jefferson City, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2016 We always enjoy the Island. This condo was short on kitchen equipment. I think it would be nice if every rental had a checklist of required equipment. It's hard to know what you can buy at the store before you come over because you never know what will be in the condo.
Adriana D. from Cape Coral, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2016 My daughter wanted a fairytale wedding and that's exactly what she got!!! Resort was amazing everything was beautiful and perfect at the resort, clean. Loved itComing back for sureThe only friendly warning: if you are required at an event ,be there early because there may be little rush hour at the ferry
Sheila T. from Lawerenceville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2015 We come every September to Palm Island. Can't imagine going anywhere else. The perfect, relaxing vacation!
A guest from St. Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2015 The villa was reasonable clean. The first floor location was a problem due to the high volume of noise from the upper 3 bedroom villa occupied by about 13 people. The three kids ran up and down the stairs leading to the upper deck, and on the length of the villa. After bringing this to the attention of the manager after 4 complaints, we were compensated. They suggested that we rent a villa on the upper level next time. There were no privacy blinds on the entry door and window making it possible for persons using the stairs to view inside our living area.
A guest from Manious, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2014 Very relaxing but the weather was a little colder than expected-- but still we had a great time and we will plan o come back.
Christine C. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in November, 2014 Amazing, amazing resort. Quiet, calm, relaxing and perfect for renewing energy. My sisters and our daughters spend some time every year, just laughing, and enjoying each other's company. Each year we go to a different beach resort, however, I believe that our traveling days are over. Palm Island is our one and only 'go to' reunion spot. Thanks.
A guest from Bradenton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 The weather was great, the accommodations werewonderful, much more spacious than previous rentals. I would request this villa again.
A guest from Bephalto, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2013 This condo was very nice. It was clean, decorated very well. All appliances were in working order. No complaints . I would stay in this unit again.
Vicki D. from Macon, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 We stayed in this condo year before last and really enjoyed our stay. This year we noticed several things that seemed to have deteriorated. The refrigerator didn't produce adequate ice and one of the bins wouldn't slide in and out, the dishwasher bottom rack was broken and difficult to use, the mattress in the master bedroom was worn out, (saggy in middle) and the furniture in living room was uncomfortable also. This has been our favorite of the 4 condos we've stayed in so it was disheartening to see the deterioration.Hopefully the owner will address the needed changes as we'd really like to stay again!
A guest from Punta Gorda, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 Late Late Late Late Check In....missed most of the day waiting for unit to be cleaned.....found out the unit wasn't even rented days before we arrived....why wait to clean a unit until the day of someone's arrival...someone with a reservation made weeks in advance?
A guest from waukee, IA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 Overall I was very satisfied! I appreciate the homeowner sharing their unit with us. It had everything we needed including a football for my boys to throw around. The property management had other rental items such as boogie boards, fishing poles, kayaks etc. The beach is wonderful and very private. This was our 2nd trip of many to this wonderful paradise.
A guest from Velrico, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2012 It would be nice to be able to access the internet from the condo's. When we stay during a holiday weekend, to be able to Skype with far away family from the beach is great advertising.
Charles B. from Winter Springs, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2012 A great place to unwind. Very beautiful and natural. Thank you for building behind the dunes. The unit we stayed in could use extrior maintenance. Rust stains, doors thst stick, bald tires on the golf carts.
Terra/Jim F. from Alva, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 We had our wedding at Palm Island October 27,2012. Our event was beautiful and perfect. We could not have asked for more. We had alot of family that stayed the weekend with us on the island. The accomidations were excellent. The villas were very nice. There was alot of space, they were clean and had everything we needed. The staff was fantastic. They were polite, accomidationg, professional and friendly.Lisa and Justin made our wedding a success. It was beautiful. They put everything together and it was amazing. The morning of the wedding we had to change our ceremony location due to the wind. Justin and Lisa came through with a beautiful spot and made it look amazing. The island is breath taking. The food was great. Fresh, hot and tasty.Thank you Palm Island for making our wedding special. We are planning our family reunion here.
Vicki B. from SEFFNER, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 We've been coming to PI for 20 years. This was our first trip without our kids, now 23 and 18.We picked a package deal and it was great value! We had a wonderful time. Unit 1211 was very nice. Too bad, an hour before we were leaving I stepped on a sting ray and it was so painful....now we know about the hot water. I had to go to the urgent care and get a tetnus shot and antibiotics. Even that did not cloud our trip. If I ever win LOTTO, I will live at Palm Island forever!!
A guest from Cedar Park, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 This was our 2nd year vacationing at Palm Isle. We stayed in 2011 and this year in 2012. There was a noticeable difference since a new management team took over operations this year. The new management were more concerned with money than they were with the customers satisfaction. Prices went up in a depressed economy. The Villa was noticeably in disrepair compared to the previous year we stayed. It needed updating. Curtains didn't close/work, dishwasher was rusty, golf cart had to be returned for a new one, appliances were outdated and needed to be replaced. Coconuts didn't have my golf cart reservation, so we had to wait 30 minutes for them to sort it out. However, despite the difficulties, it's hard to let it get you down when your at one of the most pristine beaches in the US. The weather was great and the fishing was fantastic. Overall, we had a great time.
Mark S. from Palm Harbour, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 We love palm island. It was a great vacation. Only thing is the sheets and comforter were not very clean. People who work there are very friendly. Overroll, a great place for vacation!!!
Dawn C. from Cape Coral, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 We have been visiting Palm Island over the years and we love it so much! It's a beautiful place. Quiet and relaxing. A great place for families or a girls trip away. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
A guest from Wesley Chapel, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2012 My family and I have been coming to Palm Island for 10 years and are still taken away at how beautiful and peaceful it is. Love it here!
Juliette B. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2012 Unit 1211 is very nicely decorated and right off the beach access, close to the pond and playground - a wonderful location with a great view of the entire beach with no other unit blocking the view. Will definitely stay again.
Abhishek K. from Minneapolis, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in December, 2011 A beautiful place for a very relaxing vacation. The management was super friendly. Will definitely visit again.
Linda M. from Lake Wales, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2011 We have vacationed at Palm Island over 20 years. Apparently, we love it there. We have several favorite villa's we stay in but any of the rentals on Palm Island are great!! The villa's are right on the beach so, you walk out your door and there is the water and sand and shells and peace. We bring our food for breakfast and then eat lunch or dinner at Rum Bay Restaurant. They have a variety of meals on their menu!! Delicious food and daily specials! If you bring a computer, some of the villa's have WiFi and if they don't, you can rent a mobile hotspot for your computer. We always reserve a golf cart for our stay and enjoy our evening rides at sunset. There is transportaion from the Bell Stand but we enjoy our cart.Karen is the massage therapist available and is excellent. Pick up her card at the desk when you check in. She is very good!We will return again in May and December this next year. If we could, we would go more often!!
DON V. from ST PETERSBURG, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2011 Everything was great. We have been coming to Palm Island for over 15 years at different times of the year, more recently for Thanksgiving. I would really like to see you offer guest WiFi. It is critical to be able to do work allowing a guest an opportunity to spend more time on Palm Island.
A guest from Tarpon Springs, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in November, 2011 We had an amazing stay!! Everything at the resort was BEAUTIFUL! The only thing I would say is that the beds & pillows need to be upgraded VERY BADLY!!! While the decor was very charming, the beds & pillows were PAINFUL! That would be my only suggestion, everything else was wonderful!
A guest from Panellis Park, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 Great location and decor nice. The deck could have been cleaned better and the sheets were stained and quite thin. We were given clean sheets right away. Over all clean accommodations an A wonderful place to get away and have such relaxing atmosphere. Great People in the office to greet your guests and help you. Kudos to all of you. Restaurant personell were also very nice. Super place for a get a way.
Steve S. from Frankfurt, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2011 This was one of the most relaxing vacations that we have ever had. The villa a awesome. It was on the beach and the shelling was unbelievable. We have already booked the the same villa for next year.
MORRIS P. from LITHIA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 One LITTLE gripe. Our 10 year old daughter, Maggie, has grown up with Redbeard, and was bitterly disappointed in his reduced role at the resort. His only appearance during our stay was the Friday night concert. She really loved the almost daily crafts like it used to be. I know we're not the only "regulars" who feel this way. Last Sunday morning, you should have seen how many golf carts pulled up to Redbeard's boat expecting 10 AM crafts...and how many disappointed little kids there were! Not to mention their mommies and daddies! He's always been a big part of our Palm Island vacations, and we're sorry to see the change.
Mark H. from Mt Pleasant, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in June, 2011 Beautiful location, beach, water. Coordination of services was very poor. Entities that own and operate marina, ferry, resort, restaurant, golf cart rental, etc are all different, disconnected and unable and unwilling to cross communicate. Staff was at times helpful, other times indifferent. Food at resort restaurant was hit or miss, some very good, others poor. Don't know that I would necessarily return as there are a lot of great resorts in that area with much higher levels of service and the same great beaches, water access, amenities, etc.
Cindy H. from Saftey Harbor, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2010 Everyone was very welcoming and accomodating to our group. We would highly recommend this facility to other groups.
Linda M. from Lake Wales, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2009 We have stayed at Palm Island for 21 years and highly recommend it for a totally relaxing vacation at the beach. We have only compliments.
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Dear Ms. Accurso, Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to our survey. We appreciate your stay with us and hope to see you again soon. DJ Cutler, Director of Hospitality Operations
A guest from EVANSTON, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2009 When I walked into my Villa it looked as if it is floating on the Gulf. The views are beautiful. It is in the truest sense getting away from it all. It is the perfect place for my very busy 3 year old son. He built sandcastles, swam in the pool, looked for turtles while riding around in a golfcart!! It is very natural and very low key!
Property Manager Response:
Dear Ms. Jeffris, Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know about your experience. We look forward to your next stay with us! DJ Cutler, Director of Hospitality Operations
A guest from Lutz, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2008

Linda M. from Lake Wales, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2008 We have stayed at Palm Island for over 20 years and we are going to buy a villa there so, would recommend to anyone.
JULIETTE B. from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2008 Of course the view from this unit is the best and we appreciated the special pricing so that we could rent it. We enjoy rainy weather and were blessed these four days with very varied skies. We were able to be outside as much as we wanted to be. THe location of the unit is perfect for getting in and out onto the beach. The unit is beautifully decorated and the wood floors are a great added touch. My husband much appreciated the recliner. Even though the carpet is the original it has stood up well and had no stains. The master bath is exceptionally appointed but the sink drain too slowly. The one on the left could not even be used because it would not drain sufficiently. The owners thought of all sorts of things to make our stay very friendly and comfortable. It is a great blessing that they continue to allow their unit to be rented. I wish other units would remodel. Some are so seedy that I need to be able to see the unit before I agree to stay in it. I hope they offer the special again next year because this unit is the best one on the island.
A guest from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2008 The general areas are in need of attention. Landscape needs attention and general maintenance around the property is not as well kept as it should be. The unit we stayed in was in a beautiful location, but needs to be "freshened up" The staff at Palm Island is very friendly and very helpful. The location and setting are just lovely.
Always love Palm Island, but will start looking for somewhere else if you can't deliver what you offer!
A guest from Centenial, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2008 First, let me give you the positives. Evan and Ann are awesome people at your front desk. Our unit, 1211, had the best view in 17 years of coming to PI and the unit was lovely. Service/maintenance was quick to respond and resolve the problem we had with our unit. Baggage men were fantastic. We come to PI for a small family reunion. Often we have found other accommodations that will work and keep us all together in a home or units next to each other, but PI appeals to each family member's needs in a nut shell. We truely wish to keep coming here. When we find you have units TOGETHER that will work for us, we book. 5 times this has not worked out when we got there, but was do-able. This time was rough. Splitting a large family between 2 units in 2 different buildings is NOT okay. At booking time, things are all so wonderful - you have found a few choice units for us - we are in the same building - we put down a deposit and understand that you would like notice if cancelling - we BUY FOOD FOR 1 UNIT since we are idealy together. That is until we get to PI.Once to PI, our plans come unraveled. We now have to split food between buildings - carry it down to another building and when we run out go get more from unit 1. Somethings you can't split. We've worked out our food arrangements before coming, now we are wasting vacation time doing it again - NOT RIGHT. In one building I know my kids are pretty safe going from one unit to the next to seek family. This time my son got lost trying to find the other part of our family 2 buildings over. We didn't find him until evening. I even found myself waking into someone elses unit. SAFE, I don't think so. I would think hard about safety issues with all the bodies of water on this properity if I were PI.
A guest from EVANSTON, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2008 We have a two year old and it was the first vacation we have gone on that everyone had a great time. This is a beautiful place. The beach is incredible! Children love the place and the freedom they have while visiting!
