A guest from Boulder Creek, CA. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2015 It was very nice and we kept nice and warm. Some small things were not working and it did not have wifi or a good working TV, but overall we loved it!
Property Manager Response: Response from Big Trees Real Estate, Inc. This cabin does not offer wi-fi but it would be a good plus. Glad these guests had a good time.
Wendy T. from Stockton, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2014 We stayed here over Christmas for four days. The following pros and cons pretty much sums up our stay at this cabin:Pros:Easy to book. Office staff were friendly/helpful. Easily accesible off the main road.Plenty of room for 5 people.Cozy and comfortable.Wood stove heated the cabin very well and plenty of wood was available.Gorgeous views and very peaceful setting.Cons:Lots of things in the cabin need to be fixed (i.e., part of the brick in front of the wood stove was broken and two of us tripped over it).Cabin phone did not have service while we were there and none of our cell phones had service.Wi-Fi was $3 per hour; that should have been included in the price of the cabin. The beds felt like you were sleeping on a slab of rock. The kitchen was poorly stocked with pots/pans and cooking utensils. Not even one cookie sheet!Carpet was extremely dirty and turned all of our socks black.Lastly, the septic tank backed up and we were without the ability to bathe/shower or flush the toilets for an entire day.
Property Manager Response: Response from Big Trees Real Estate, Inc. unfortunately in the mountains with the elements affecting our electronics, the phone line were down due to a recent storm. The phone company was notified immediately and service scheduled. Yes, cell service is very limited in the Sierras. It was unfortunate that there was a plumbing issue in the cabin during these guests last day. A plumber was called out and spent a significant amount of time making it usable again. Not an easy fix but was addressed. All bed types are requested by guests. Some like a harder beds and others a soft bed. We will take a look at the pot and pan situation in this cabin and address this with the owner. We always ask guests if they need some particular item like a cookie sheet they should bring it along for our owners do not stock everything in their kitchens. We strive to take care of our guests when they stay with us and did address the problems that occurred in a speedy matter. We do feel very badly when issues occur in our rental cabins when guests are vacationing with us and certainly strive to make our guest stay the very best experience.
A guest from Berkeley, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2010 The cabin was well located and had the right number of rooms and common space. The problem was that someone had broken a glass and failed to clean up. My daughter cut her foot on glass in the carpet. The dishwasher leaked as well.
