Had a Great Time!
Marcia M. from Placida, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2016 Our villa was right in front of the beach with great views from the 3rd floor. We were within a short walk to both RumRunners as well as the fitness center. We had the beach all to ourselves! The villa itself was spotlessly clean but could have used some larger TV's and more interior lighting but was otherwise spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. Everyone at the reception desk was terrific - helpful and friendly!
A guest from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2016 We were NOT happy with The condition of unit 3223. The mattress very uncomfortable, the bed creaks with every movement. The microwave did not work. Rust on fridge. Walls need painting. The shower faucet in master bath, is so hard to open I had to call my husband to open and close the water for me. The TV in living room is very very small.
Chris W. from Orlando, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2016 This was a 4th return trip to Palm Island and MOST disappointing! At first the impression was nice...we realize the property is older and has reasonable expectations...but what we encountered was less than acceptable. The biggest problem was the bedding in the condo...HORRIBLE! So bad in fact that our guests came away with bed bug bites! I was horrified and when I complained the answer to me was..."We will encourage our owners to purchase new bedding"...encourage???it should be mandatory! The matresses were like sleeping on an air matress with NO AIR!...You felt evey spring below you. No matress pads, sheets so thin you could see through them! The sofa was digny, the dishes and coffee mugs were stained! Paint was chipped from the railings and after a storm, two days had passed and fallen tree limbs were still not picked up off the main shell roadway. It was a shame that we had spoken so highly of this place and our guests, like us, were not impressed, nor will we be going back. :(
BRYAN R. from TAMPA, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2016 Not a room I'd recommend. I've stayed at this resort 5 to 6 times and this particular unit was the worse that I've stayed in. The floors were a mess with hair everywhere. You could tell the unit was a pet unit even though we did not want a pet unit. Appliances were very old. Furniture was was sparse and old. Not comfortable. This unit was labeled as a "Deluxe" when it should have been labeled a base unit.
A guest from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2016 WE GO TO PALM ISLAND EVERY YEAR AND IT'S GREAT! THE VILLA'S ARE ALWASYS WELL KEPT AND CLEAN. THE WATER THIS TIME ON THE ISLAND LOOKED BETTER THAN CANCUN WHEN WE WENT LAST YEAR! IT'S SO RELAXING, THE POOL, THE BIKES AND MOST OF ALL NO CARS JUST GULF CARTS!
A guest from Denver, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2016 We had a perfect family vacation at Palm Island Resort. It was a great combination of relaxation and family time. Beautiful beach, great pool, fun family-oriented activities. An all-around fantastic time!
Sheri D. from Alexandria, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2016 It was a very rainy weekend so using a golf cart to get around without a windshield was not good--you were soaked where ever you went. Also for someone who does not really know how they work--expecting me to plug it in correctly in the dark with the rain coming down--not a good way to vacation. My unit needs some work--bedspreads are old/dirty--floor in kitchen pulling up--TV remote would not work correctly. For the money I was a little disappointed.
Kelli A. from Winter Park, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2015 We have stayed numerous times at Palm Island resort and have ALWAYS had a pleasurable experience. Every condo has been clean, and fairly updated. This last stay was quite a shock, there was duct tape holding shower heads on, roaches throughout condo, stains on bedspread, broken pull out couch, and broken ice maker. Overall this particular condo was in need of some upgrades and TLC.The property manager did everything to try to make things right, but was still very disappointed in that particular condo #3223. We will come back and make sure that we do not get booked in that one again.
Violet R. from Lakeland, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 From sunrise to sunset, the changing of the tides and the bounty of beauty shells I could not have been more please then when my granddaughters said "this island should be called the happy place of the world"
A guest from yalaha, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 Found the property clean and convenient. However the bedding was less than comfortable and the showers needed repairs. Do stay at Palm Island...but choose a different unit.
A guest from Portage, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2015 Great beach, great location, and great weather. We rented a golf cart and explored the island. Our unit was a little outdated and could have been better supplied with cookingSupplie. We found lots of shells and sharks teeth. We fished from shore.Only one restaurant on the island so bring supplies.Staff were all great!
Bruce D. from St. Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2014 Palm Island Resort is awesome. Great place to get away from the world and relax. Beautiful water and fantastic resort. The staff are the icing on the cake!
Candice M. from Bradenton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 Our room wasn't ready until 4:30 even though check in was supposed to be at 3pm, putting a small wrench in our birthday dinner plans, but everyone was extremely nice and courteous. It would have been nice to get a small discount on the room but we never did. The two bedroom villa had an amazing view and was spacious but definitely needs updating. Old appliances, hard beds, and definitely not what i expected for $350/night- you can stay at the Ritz for that! The island is stunning and relaxing and love the no-car policy, meaning you have to take a golf cart. Was fun but next time we will probably look to rent one of the nicer homes on the island. It would also be better if there was a nicer restaurant and grocery store on the island. All staff was extremely helpful and courteous.
A guest from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2014 This was our second visit to Palm Island and it's beautiful, a nature lover's dream. We will be back again.
Danielle H. from Lutz, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 Even with two bad days of rainy weather we can't complain. From the beautiful view to the comfortable accommodations, we were pampered every second. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. If you didn't have that ice cream in Coconuts I could save my self a few extra pounds!!! Grounds were clean and well taken care of. Only request, more places to put suitcases of clothes in Master Bedroom. Feel blessed each year we enjoy this paradise......what a treasure.
Charlton J. from Coconut Creek, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 Our stay at Palm Island Beach Resorts was breath taking and very much relaxing. We enjoy the amenities, beaches and views on the island so much we didn't take the fairy back to the mainland, during the stay. I describe the island as tranquility in the sun.... Very quit! Two bedroom Villa was great!. Only issues; my AE credit card # was written down at the Gulf Cart rental and fraudulently used in Texas grocery store several days after our departure. Luckily for AE quick fraud detection service. In our Villa cleaning attention should be paid under the tub mats. Other than the cons the vacation stay was awesome!!
A guest from Santa Roa Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in September, 2013 Came down for the paddle board race. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We look forward to returning.
A guest from Bradenton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 Great place for young family. There's not much to do for teens. I think maybe a teen center should be good. Another restaurant would be nice on the property. Also golf cart check in/out should be next to check in/out office. Other than that, it was a nice quick weekend getaway.
Carole B. from Bradenton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 check-in is supposed to be 3:00, but our room was not ready until 5--time to spend in the bar. They gave us the wrong keys, so we stood in the evening being bitten by the "no-see-ums" while waiting for assistance. Ask about the beds--guests had two twin beds (uncomfortable) pushed together without the center piece to make it a king bed. Master king bed was comfortable. n Personnel are extremely polite and professional. Great time all in all.
A guest from Tarpon Springs, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 This was just what we needed. The location, the privacy, the view, the accommodations were all top notch! We can't wait to go back!
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Lori, Palm Island Villa is a real treat that we are pleased to share with our guests. We are always happy to hear that our guests have enjoyed their stay and will be returning. Please come see us again soon.
A guest from Cape Coral, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2013 Our overall experience was excellent. The only bad experience was our meal at the Rum Bar. The entire restaurant was filthy and the food was cold. We went to Leverock's one of the other evenings for dinner and it was excellent. We will definitely come back to the resort, but will probably bring more food along.
A guest from Punta Gorda, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2012 We really enjoyed the beautiful beachy accommodations. The view was gorgeous, even on our one rainy day. The Gulf is fantastic no matter the weather. We just nestled in for the day. Also played tennis, walked the beach, ate at the resturant, ordered in, and just enjoyed our stay in general. We will be back as soon as time allows. Love Palm Island!!!!!
Cathy P. from Gulfport, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in September, 2012 My husband and I had the best and most rela xing time ever and boy did we need it. Thanks to all the staff they we great. CJ and Charles at the properties restaurant Rum Bay we spectacular!!!!! see ya next year thanks again. Frank & Cathy Perri.
Danielle H. from Lutz, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 Our Rental was very nice. Liked the water filter in the kitchen. Was dissappointed there was no dresser space in master bedroom. We did receive kayaks and bikes as part of our stay. The bikes were in horrible condition and life jackets were dirty.Overall our stay was very pleasant and we love the location.
susan o. from OVERLAND PARK, KS recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2012 We have vacationed at the resort for more than 10 years...this year the customer service was terrible. Starting with the front office, only one man was cordial. The other man (appeared to be the manager) was never helpful, did not smile, generally unfriendly. I let him know the shower head in my villa fell off onto my head leaving a large bruise. I told him I was fine, but it could have really hurt a child...he did not say, Oh I am sorry or anything..he simply said, hmmm we should check on that. This was a common theme across the resturant, coconuts, and the gift shop. The cart driver who has been there 23 yrs was sweet. You do not have enough people working, and most of those you have need, to improve on customer service. If the island was not so beautiful all by itself, we would probably not come back.I was planning on talking to someone in the real estate office but decided against it given the rudeness of the staff... I realize you probably wont do anything with this feedback, but you should take it to heart, as I never provide negative feedback. I provide praise freely, but wouldn't normally bother.A disappointed, loyal for years, guest: Susan Ott...
A beautiful and relaxing island / resort. A great family getaway!
A guest from Birmingham, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in July, 2012 My family, specially my girls, had a great time. The resort is very relaxing and a great family 's an island, so don't forget to stop at a grocery store and get ALL the things/groceries that you need before getting into the ferry.
kim r. from Fort Lauderdale, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2012 We absolutely love this place This was our second stay here and we love the whole atmosphere. When we arrived the villa we were given was in poor shape and needed an updated make over. We contacted the front desk and within 5 minutes they arrived at our door and showed us another villa. This villa was great. The bell staff quick and friendly. We will return every year
A guest from Oak Field, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2011 Palm Island is an absolutely gorgeous place. The staff is VERY accomodating. The restaurants cuisine is delicious. If I had any negative comment at all, it would be for the Island to offer a full breakfast. Our condo was beautiful and clean. Thank you so much for the great service and beautiful scenery.
Jane A. from Lee's Summit, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2011 We were there for 3 days and the general store and Coconuts wer both closed for 2 days. We were not informed of this before our visit. Very inconvenient. Otherwise, everything was perfect as it has been for the past 23 years we have been visiting Palm Island.
A guest from Chattangoo, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in May, 2011 the sheets and pillows are really pitiful. the sheets always pop off the mattress during the night and the pillows are extremely flat. as things get worn out, they need to be replaced and not with obviously the cheapest quality. i know these units go thru a lot but some things last longer if they are of better quality and make the stay much nicer. the mattresses are pretty rough also.
A guest from Chattangoo, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2011 sheets are too small for the beds the corners pop off every night, bed pillows are really sad, this is very frustrating. kitchen cabinets need regular repair checks, coffee pot pitiful. staff very friendly and helpful except for one young man who seemed to be always very irritated, reddish hair stocky build, not at all pleasant. really enjoy the "no dogs on the beach" personally wish it were the entire property. rental umbrellas were really bad.
Lynn M. from Redington, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 Overall, it's a great place for a vacation. The only problem is with the cleanliness of the beds. My daughter became sick with cough, sneezing and upper respiratory symptoms after sleeping in the second bedroom. I wonder if the sheets are dirty and not washed regularly. Also the comfortors on the twin beds looked positively dirty and soiled. That was my only concern. Otherwise, the condo itself was spotless.
A guest from Columbus, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in March, 2011 The master bed in unit 3223 was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in. For the amount of money it was unacceptable. The housekeeping team tried to help out by putting a comforter underneath a sheet but it was little help. In addition, the sheets provided by housekeeping were very old, pilled up, and uncomfortable. I think the rental program needs to address these issues if they expect people like me to spend almost $3,000 on lodging at Palm Island.
A guest from Valrico, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2010 It was quiet and peaceful. The beach was absolutely beautiful and everyone had fun collecting shells and looking for sharks' teeth. I would most definitely like to go again. We had a wonderful time.
Lyndia M. from Wellington, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2010 We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. I spoke so highly my manager booked her vacation this month as well. It was a great time.
Sheila K. from Savage, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2010 This is a perfect vacation to relax, connect with nature and enjoy the beautful ocean. Wonderful tennis courts, pool, shells on the beach, restaurant, grill and cook to save money, everything was perfect, I loved it!
DOUG C. from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2009 Everything was amazing. Staff at the resort are great. View was beatiful from our condo.

I have lived in FL my entire life and never knew about this hidden secret Island. My family and I had the best time and trying
DAWN r. from VALRICO, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2009 Being from FL there are always Palmetto bugs around and my only suggestion is to spray for insects more often.
Property Manager Response:
Dear Ms robertson, Thank you very much for responding to our survey. We appreciate your time and we look forward to your next visit. DJ Cutler, Director of Hospitality Operations
ANDREA T. from ROTONDA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2009 Year after year we have the same great time. It is a true tranformation into a relaxxing, beautiful setting. You have to try it once and you will keep wanting to go back.
Property Manager Response:
Dear Ms. Truex, Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know about your experience. We look forward to your next stay with us! DJ Cutler, Director of Hospitality Operations
Mary F. from NOKOMIS, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2009 Reservations w/ Kelli very helpful. Bobbi quoted us a much higher rate, was not very polite, we had an issue over transportation charges and her general demeanor was inconsiderate. No hot water, was repaired. Water leak into unit below us also. Overheard similar comments about staff from other guests.
A guest from St. Louis, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2009 This was our second year to Palm Island and we had a wonderful time. It is a great family vacation spot for people with little kids. Our 3-year old and 18-month old were thrilled to play on the beach, the playgroud, cruise in the golf cart, and loved watching the turtles that hang out around the area. If you are looking for shops and restaurants and a Starbucks, this isn't the vacation for you. But if you are hoping for a calm, relaxing, quiet family retreat, then Palm Island is the best vacation around. We'll be back next year!
Rich M. from Wesley Chapel, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2008 This was our second visit to the Island. We are looking forward to making this an annual tradition and are even considering investment property opportunities. PI is a "best kept secret"...let's keep it that way.
Property Manager Response:
sh! I won't tell! Thank you very much for your responses. We are looking forward to your next visit with us. DJ Cutler, Director of Hospitality Operations
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2008 I had not been to Palm Island in 20 years and my memories were always good ones and revisiting the Island was wonderful and I was able to bring my children and just spend quality time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
A guest from Plant City, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2008 this is a great place for a family vacation that allows parents to takes a little planning due to the ferry a limited hours at the store/restaurant, but worth it all.
Palm Is is a fabulous vacation spot to come and unwind,to truly rest and relax
LYNETTE G. from WELLINGTON, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2008 FYI--We have been coming to Palm Is for fifteen years and have stayed in many different units until we purchased one to own. Our family has grown and we must now rent units for us all to fit. I must tell you that some of the units have the same appliances, furniture and decor that they had fifteen years back. There needs to be a certain standard of furnishings and appliances in order to justify paying upwrds of $3,000 plus dollars a week. Owners should be required to provide decent furniture, rugs, entertainment ie. decent TVs and DVD. Some of the dishwashers are literally falling apart everytime they are used. Is this ever talked about at association meetings? It need not be expensive refurbishing, but capital investments need to be done to the units. Thank you for listening. Lynette
KATHRYN D. from SARASOTA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2007 I am a travel agent with YTB Travel Network. Palm Island Resort is one of my favorite places to stay with my family! The grounds are well maintained and the staff is incredible! I recommend this resort to all my clients! I look forward to my next vacation at Palm Island Resort!!
