A guest from Bel Air, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2016 The accommodations were great. The Rum Bay restaurant prices were very reasonable and the food was very good. Our only complaint, and it's a major one, is the Coconuts convenience store. They are, I believe, price gouging. Consider a quart of milk there cost almost $5.00. Also the cost of the cart rental is too high considering the condition of the carts. The cart that we rented, which replaced the first cart they gave us which wouldn't always go into gear, was well used and in need of repair.
A guest from Cape Haze, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2016 The villa was beautiful and the staff were wonderful as well. It was amazing to watch the sunset from the screened in porch! Definitely needed the golf cart to get around the island.
Megan N. from North Port, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2016 We live in the area and wanted a relaxing getaway without traveling too far and this place was just that. We had an amazing time touring the island (renting a golf cart is a must)and relaxing by the beach that is a close walk.
William M. from Woodbridge, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in May, 2016 Palm Island is our favorite vacation spot in the world. We have been regulars here for over 13 years. (We may even buy soon). We have been to almost every famous or popular beach in the world, and Palm Island is simply the best beach in the world. Great shelling and wildlife watching and perfect for long walks - extremely quiet, peaceful, and private. The resort staff is excellent. The only issue we had this time was that our unit was an old one that could use some updates. Many of the appliances are old and don't work properly - the dryer lint basket would pop out during the cycle if you used regular heat, and the fridge light blinked like a horror movie. The resort property is in great shape. It was just our unit that needs some attention.
Wonderful Place to Celebrate Our 50th Wedding Anniversary
Susan R. from Menomonie, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2016 My husband and I joined our best man of 50 years ago and his wife on Palm Island to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time on Palm Island; the other couple has been vacationing there for 26+ years. And now we know why they keep coming back! We had a perfectly wonderful five days. The condo was great, and we loved the screened lanai. We spent time in the beautiful, warm pool every day, walked the beaches looking for shells and sharks' teeth, buzzed around on the golf carts and, coming from chilly Wisconsin, soaked up the sunshine. Each staff person we met was a delight and welcomed us with smiles and a great sense of humor. We even found a beautiful gift basket on the table with wine, chocolates, and a personal card wishing us a happy 50th anniversary. That was over the top! We're already planning a return trip next year. Thank you so much for a perfect celebration.
John B. from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2016 Our vacation was amazing, besides the weather not totally behaving but that's Mother Nature for you. One of our only complaints is that we asked for a place without rugs because my guest and I both have allergies and were promised our unit had tiles. And the other complaint was that our AC broke for an entire day but didn't really notice until after dinner when we called the after hours manager. He was very rude to me and didn't even want to come out to look at problem to see if it was a quick fix or not and we had to sleep in 86 degrees weather inside the villa and in April. I can't imagine what it would of been like if it happened in another month like June, July or August. Yes we were credited back $200 so that helped a little but not much because we were already happy happy with the price we were not happy at all with the ac breaking and them not coming to look at it. Even at a hotel they would of come out to try to fix it, especially staying at a luxury resort.
A guest from Middleboro, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2016 Our second trip to Palm Island was as wonderful as our first. The resort is located on a peaceful island on the Gulf of Mexico. The beach is private sandy and long. We had a very relaxing time after a 67 day cruise around South America.
A guest from Greene, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2016 Peaceful Location away from the hustle and bustle of real life! We enjoyed the quiet, beautiful beach ! The pool and hot tub provided a comfortable break from the wind of the beach. Our unit was clean although furniture coverings dated as well as bath area. Limited restaurant bar options due to location.
Karen N. from North Myrtle Beach, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 Great - only 2 minor downsides. First, unit didn't have wireless. It's 2015, owner, get wireless! Also, there should be a list of all resort phone numbers in the units - for bell station, reception, etc. Otherwise, love the unit and the resort.
Reviewed by: Harry L. recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2015 A wonderfully relaxing place to spend a holiday with our family. My wife and I really loved the whole atmosphere , very private and close to the sea. The amenities on site were ideal with plenty to satisfy our needs. Many thanks to all concerned for providing such a unique piece of this earth.
A guest from Middleboro, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2015 We liked the experience so well, we have booked a week again next year. First of all you ride a 8 car ferry across ~300 yards of water to Palm Island. You then drive a little over a mile to the resort parking lot.Upon check in, a large golf cart a drive comes to your vehicle and loads your luggage and you for the drive to your Villa, NO CARS are allowed inside the resort. Once at your Villa your driver unloads and carries your baggage inside. You can rent a golf cart or bike to get around if you don't want to walk. There is a restaurant and a snack shop a short distance away. The Gulf is only a couple hundred yards away and beautiful. A swimming pool is located in between. There is all kinds of activities if you just don't want to do nothing but relax. The staff are all just great, wanting to make you as happy as possible. To sum it up in one word--- WOW!!!!!
A guest from Zephryhills, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 I was looking for a little R&R and got a lot of R&R. No internet...which was nice. There is as much activity as you want or as little as you want. Played some great courses around the area as well. Stayed in a beautiful beach view condo. Anyone looking for a nice place to do nothing but read, walk the beach, bike ride, sleep, swim or do nothing at all this is the place for you.
Josh S. from Oviedo, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2014 Great place to getaway with your significant other if you are looking for peace and quiet and a beach to yourself. Must rent the golf cart for the full experience.
David Z. from Bonita Springs, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2014 I led a group of six boats and 12 couples for a three day visit to Palm Island. It could not have been nicer. The villas, the food, the amenities were all very good. The staff did a terrific job helping me put the trip together and once we arrived the staff went out of their way to make our stay most enjoyable.
Chrystal W. from Urbonna, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2014 Palm Island Resot is truly unique because you can only get around on the island by bicycles or golf carts. Pristine beach and beautiful sunsets. To sum it up........Idea place to get away and unwind In a tropical paradise. Chrystal W. Urbanna,Va.
Rachel A. from Saint Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 Beautiful villa, well appointed with everything we needed. Just bring your swimsuit and beach towel! Steps from pool and beach, 1 minute walk to restaurant. Pull out couch was perfect for 2 kids. Updated bath and kitchen. We would certainly request this unit again!
Andrea J. from Tampa, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 I didn't realize with the extemely hot weather that these tiny noseeum critters were this bad. Also didn't expect there wasn't a place to eat breakfast on this entire island. I felt this place was like camping on a deserted island. When we arrived we drove up to the resort and you would expect this grand service since all you see is a gentlemen behind this wood podium. As I walked up to him he just indicated bell boy would be back and I could walk around corner to check in. So much for 5 star rating resort. Once I check in them I'm told our golf cart isn't here and I had to wait. I had booked a romantic couples package and coordinated with the conceriege to ensure that we would make sunset so timing was everything lets just say now I'm having to wait for cart so now we are more pressed for time.
A guest from Wesley Chapel, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 We've been coming to Palm Island with our children for the last 14 years and are still amazed at the beautiful sunsets!
Kim B. from Orlando, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 Coming to Palm Island for a week was the best week of the year! From the moment we checked in we were treated like VIP guests. A wonderful young man carried all of our luggage, groceries, etc. up the stairs and then was their for us when we left. We ate every night at Rum Bay and met Diane the best waitress ever. Our room was very nice with a perfect view of the pool and the Gulf. I love shelling, my husband loves swimming in the Gulf and we both look forward every day to going to Stump Pass to watch the sun set. Our stay was five stars in every way!!! We'll be back next summer for our fifth time, that should tell you how much we love P I.
A guest from Burnsville, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2013 Palm Island is best enjoyed if you're ready to relax. Leave your shoes at the door and plan on spending the day at the beach and pool. The beach has terrific white sand and usually very few other people. The pool was clean and again most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. A great place for couples or families, especially if you do not need to leave the island for other entertainment. Renting a golf cart makes it easy to get around the property, and see everything. Sunsets on the beach are spectacular!
Denise D. from Placida, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in May, 2013 Palm Island is a wonderful resort vacation spot. The beach is steps away and the views from the condo are breathtaking. Service is impeccable and friendly. The pools are clean and large for a good swim or workout. Enjoy!!
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Denise, You hit some of the major the highlights of what makes a trip to Palm Island Resort unique. Come back to see us again soon.
David R. from Davie, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 All good! Will definately return! Only negative was that they had no umbrellas for rent and I didn't bring my own because I was told there would be availability.
Joan T. from Brighton, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 I was very happy to return to Palm Island for much needed R&R. Special thanks to Marty in the front office for helping me. The condo was clean and comfortable and just a short walk to the beach. Came home with my many seashells from my strolls on the beautiful beach, a nice tan and a refreshed state of mind. I am already planning my next visit.
David H. from South Burlington, VT recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2013 We have coming for ten years thanks to an introduction by the Lapes. The staff is always very pleasant and this ear Kris was a delight providing good aerobic workouts and very interesting nature walk.
james s. from Ottawa, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2013 Overall we were happy with our stay at Palm Island Resort. We received a call before our arrival telling us we were being upgrade to a deluxe unit. The unit 3311 needs maintenance in the bathroom. The linens on the bed are in poor shape. The coverlet has loose nylon strings that get caught on your hands when making the bed. In the kitchen, the utensils were lacking......not enough grilling utensils, bowls, etc.Woodwork throughout needs scraping and painting as it was blistering.Would not want to rent this unit in this condition next year. The food at Rum Bay and service was very good as was the value.Hopefully, we will return again.
Diane C. from Savanah, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2012 Absolutely loved the villa we were in and the view was spectacular. The only thing that would have made it better would have been additional packets of coffee for our second morning.
Jeoffrey C. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2012 The only issues I would bring up are:1. The roads are very dusty when a vehicle passes by.2. The food at the restaurant is not that great.Everything else was fine and we enjoyed our trip to PI.
A guest from Fairfax, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in May, 2012 We only stayed one night but it was nice and easy to do. Checking in and out was a little time consuming. Getting one person thru the process takes sometime so you better hope you aren't the 2nd in line. Need to have the ability to check in early. You can get there in the morning and you won't get into your room until 3 pm. 11 am checkout is too early and you should have a late check out also. Should be able to have resort hold your bags also. Restrurant and bar are awesome. Coconuts breakfast will make you sick. Golf cart rental is iffy. They say you can't take carts off the island but i saw more rental carts off the resort than i saw on it.
A guest from South Burlington, VT recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in March, 2012 Our only concern was that our stay over school vacation week and it was very busy. Next year our reservations are a little earlier so we will avoid the peak busy period, but swe will definitely be back to Palm Island.
A guest from Dundeidn, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2012 We try to get to Palm Island at least twice a year. I always feel like crying when I know I have to leave and go back to crowds and traffic. Rum bay restaurant had great seafood and wonderful service (Debbie and Dustin(or Justin?). Marty at the front desk was very professional despite the fact that she was very busy. Not all units are completely updated, but it's ok, they are spotless and have everything you need. Will be back in a few months!
Marlene K. from Valrico, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 If you are looking for a place to relax and recharge, the Palm Island Resort is it. The staff is great, the grounds are beautiful and serene, the units are very spacious and comfortable. We cannot wait to visit again.
A guest from St. Pete, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 I found this resort through Groupon;I've lived here 22 years and never heard of it so thought we would give it a try. I did research it on the internet prior to booking. This was an awesome experience, great anniversary getaway and would think about returning. That said,I do not feel that some information was explained enough on the website or when I called for information prior to booking. We were aware of the ferry but not aware that we had to leave our vehicle parked in a lot and would need to use a golf cart the entire time. Both of those items were covered in the Groupon price(golf cart/ferry)and was not aware until after the fact that the normal reservation would not have included those in their price. I was shocked. I just think it should have been stressed more when calling for rental information because neither are cheap by any means. If I were to return/recommend this I would certainly make a friend aware;also if I would return again,I would definitely have enough food for my entire stay so I would not have to frequent the ferry because of the price. Again,we loved the resort and everything about it
Lynn A. from North Port, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2012 We live in north port and visited palm island for the first time on 9/10/11 following our wedding reception at the wonderful Levorocks restaurant. We have stayed on the island 3 times for the weekend since September in different villa and have been pleased each time, feeling a million miles away from home. Everyone is kind and helpful. We especially appreciate the fact that when possible, you let us check in early to begin to enjoy our weekend getaway as soon as we get here if the room is eready. Every hour counts when you only have the weekend! We are grateful palm island is so close!
A guest from Washington, DC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 Our reservation was put under the wrong name and we had a few other minor issues with staff doing things incorrectly - however, it was overall a wonderful trip.
Diane & James S. from Bradenton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2011 I would like our names displayed as Diane and Jay Sands from Bradenton, FL and Falmouth, MA. We loved our stay and would most likely return some day.
A guest from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2011 It was our first time in Palm Island. The only negative thing about our trip was that it was too short. We plan on coming again and stay for a week next time.
Roseann H. from Fort Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2011 I only had two issues with my stay: 1. I did not get sufficient information about the ferry use. I did not know I could take my car on the ferry at no cost so I had to leave it on the mainland and have a bellman pick us up. And 2. when my grandchildren used the kayacs there was no training involved at all. They were given life jackets and told where the kayacs were. The kayacs were in disrepair and they encountered something large int he water and were scared to death and returned after only 15 minutes. There should be some instruction on how to use the kayacs and what they may encounter on their trip. Other than those two items, we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and will come back and stay a few more days next time. The sunset was incredible.
A guest from Safety Harbor, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2011 If you are looking to truly get away from it all and experience serenity and/or romance, Palm Island Resort is an ideal spot! A short weekend there felt as if we'd been gone several days and went a world away - the beaches were lovely & the stars at night were just spectacular! ...while you're there, be sure to get a golf cart to cruise around! Tooo much fun! --- Terez & John H.
Jim H. from Belleair, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 Terrific beach for shelling and fossils. Sharks teeth are everywhere along with lots of great shells. It doesn't get a lot better than Palm Island. The room was very nice and quite comfortable. It had everything we needed, and the staff was very helpful. The only area for improvement was the seafood in the restaurant. Otherwise the food was fine. We will be back.
A guest from palm harbor, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2010 We are always very happy with our stay at Palm Island. We have been coming here for years and enjoy our stay every time. Can't wait for our next trip!
Anthony F. from Ft Meyers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2010 This is our 11th year staying at Palm Island and we celebrated our tenth anniversary,on June 10th, 2010! Thanks for the memories, until we come again!
A guest from landenburg, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2009 We had to move three times due to double booking. Two times the first night and then a third time on the second day. Our final room was on the first floor, we had requested a room on the second floor. Everyone was pleasant, but it reflects very poor planning. A resort at this level really should do better.

Patricia M. from Safety Harbor, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2009 ceiling fan on porch did not work, outlets in bathroom did not work.I felt this unit had only a minimum of pots, etc. We have stayed at Palm Island many times and thiis unit had the least. We also got tired of killing palmetto bugs. The staff is wonderful, the unit left a lot to be desired.

Denise J. from Coco, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2008 My husband and two kids stayed here for the first time, and wished our stay was longer. We plan to come back to do some of the activities they offer to the kids. Nicely maintained. I would, and have already recommend this place to friends and family.
A guest from AMHERST, NH recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2008 We love Palm Island and find very little wrong with it. The reservation process was messed up and I'm still wondering what the final bill will turn out to be on my credit card but I will say that Ann did her best to get it straightened out. The young men in the snack bar were very willing and helpful getting the computer to work and print and the young woman was pleasant but her gum chewing was offputting. The condos we have been in have always been very clean and well supplied; this one was also. A missing bread board was quickly replaced once housekeeping was told about it. The grounds are amazingly well kept and the beach is a joy. Palm Island does a good job!
A guest from Largo, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2007 Ive stayed there for the past 20+yrs. Its always a pleasure. Shelling was the best ever. The only downs were the cost and cancellation policy. There is no refund if cancelled. It can be used at a later visit. I also miss the long weekends for about $180.00. I understand things go up in price but we used to stay there 2-3 times a year. Now its once every year or two. The price is a bit prohibitive now. Get the price back down some and please change the refund policy. Still this was a great trip.
Have had 2 family reunions there renting 6 condos each time and have never been disappointed.
JOHN T. from BRADENTON, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2007 It is a great place to have a family gathering as we have. Also we had our 50th wedding anniversary party there and everthing was taken care of from a dinner to beautiful weather.Have recommended it to many of our friends. As a matter of fact ourselves and two other couple friends also went for an enjoyable weekend. Keep us the cleanliness and the hospitable staff and it will continue to be an excellent vacation away from home. Another reason we like it is it is close to our home in Bradenton but when we get there we feel like we are on a Caribbean island.
We arrived on our boat. The communication between boaters and the dock master could be better. It was unclear as to where we s
