We loved this place. Very cabiny, just the way we like it, The jacuzzi was amazing and can seat 6. everything was fully stocked, and the would heat stove fireplace was plenty to warm the entire cabin sufficiently. The surroundings of the woods and mountains were made it all the more predestine and beautiful. Although the Kitchen was fully stocked, I would maybe bring a smaller frying pan for eggs, and some zip lock bags or small containers for storing left overs. Other than, I can't think of anything else.. they even had a fully stocked spice rack. I just brought my own condiments which saved on shopping $. Beds were comfortable and everything in good working condition. will come back for sure.

Response from NW Comfy Cabins Inc. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We are to thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your time so much. Hopefully you will want to come on back again (using your return guest discount) and enjoy the other seasons. The summer on the private beach is hard to match. Once you are on the beach and look back toward the cabin, there are amazing sheer mountains that are so impressive, I always expect to see mountain goats, but I never remember to bring binoculars to really get a good look for them. I guess I better put that on my 'to do list'. Thank you again and please be sure to come back again, we would love to have you anytime.

Beautiful but serious mosquito problem

This is a beautiful place. The mosquitos however made it very hard to enjoy our stay. We learned quickly our son is allergic to the bites and this was his celebration. We left first thing this morning as soon as we could and can?t wait to not feel like bugs are crawling all over us. Unfortunately the bugs issue is just too much so we will not be returning. It?s pretty pricey to not be able to actually enjoy the outdoors. We tried to enjoy the hot tub and were unable to do so. We tried to have a fire and also were unable to do so due to the mosquitos. If you think like we did it can?t be ?that bad? it is most definitely that bad. If you want a place where you don?t go outside at all, this is the place for you. Also they send the checkout list to you through an app. They don?t have WiFi and there?s no service for miles and miles but expect you to basically clean the entire place yourself when you?re charged a cleaning fee AND have no access to even see the list? Doesn?t make sense to us at all.
Property Manager Response:
Response from NW Comfy Cabins Inc. Ashley, You are correct about the mosquitos they are unseasonably bad this year. We are so sorry to hear that they made a return after the last spraying. We rushed over there the moment your review came in and brought every concieveable repellant, spray, etc. that they had at the store. I got to the cabin and found that the big 'mosquito magnet' trap that we set up had been shut off. (I posted a sign on it telling people PLEASE do not turn this off, it eats mosquitos!!!) But as I was there doing all of that, very few bugs made an appearance so I think that trap was helpful. We maintain a landline at the cabin and could have brought you mosquito coils and yard spray had you called and let us know. The mosquito magnet trap works very well and when it is left running makes a huge difference. I walked out to the river and sprayed the entire way. Hopefully it will keep the next generation from hatching. It makes me so sad that you did not enjoy your stay, it could have been addressed had we known you were having troubles. I am so very sorry. I also wanted to say that there is NO NEED FOR ANY CLEANING ON THE PART OF OUR GUESTS, not sure where you saw that or why you thought that, the only request we make is that your dishes are loaded dishwasher turned more. When you book with a third party booking agent, they send instructions that are not part of our program. It is helpful to always book direct to save fees and get the necessary information that pertains to the property you have rented. I will reach out to you personally to discuss how we can earn your return business.

My husband, senior pup and I had a lovely time at the cabin. It was nicely appointed with plenty of linens, towels, and kitchen equipment. The interior stairs are steep and narrow, so not appropriate for people with mobility issues. The furniture (beds, couches) was very comfortable. Some awkwardness getting in and out of the tub. Would be nice to have a handle of some sort to grasp. Definitely use the bathtub mat to avoid slipping. So, regarding those skeeters...when we pulled in we were very excited to get unloaded and explore. But we were blasted with mosquitos. They were absolutely everywhere and bit us all over immediately. We rushed into the house and looked around for mosquito spray. Luckily there was a small supply of it in a basket in the bathroom. There was also a small supply of citronella tealights. So we doused ourselves and proceeded to unload the car. We were able to spend a small amount of time out on the back deck before the skeeters got too munchy. We also attempted to walk down the path to the river. It was completely wet and muddy, and of course covered with mosquitos. We never got to see the river :( LUCKILY the lake is nearby (day use access via the South park entrance) and we were able to enjoy the water that way. Oh yeah, we did use the hot tub one night for a bit. Enjoyable until we had to bail out from being bit.We really did enjoy our time there. Be prepared for possible mosquitos and bring charcoal for the BBQ. There's a small selection of DVDs, but bring your own if you really want to watch your favorite stuff. I would suggest bringing a Bluetooth speaker and your own music selection (digital or CD).Finally - if you have a proper vehicle, DO drive up the White River Auto Tour - Stop 2. The end view is AMAZING. You won't see anything until you get to the very end. Totally worth it. But look out for the bitey red ants! They got me too :) We didn't get around to doing the first auto tour. I imagine it's

Response from NW Comfy Cabins Inc. Bianca, Thank you for taking the time to write your review, yes, those darn skeeters are bad right now! The owner went out right after your visit and sprayed the entire perimeter of the yard and trail area to the river been checking each day and so far, they are not returning. Will keep an eye on that and stay ahead of are sneaky little critters. We will add more bug spray just in case and have set up a propane style repellant system just as a precaution. Thank goodness they are seasonal. So glad you enjoyed the cabin the otherwise and got to venture out to our beautiful area. I have sent your comments over to the owner as it is always very appreciated to get our guests feedback. We do hope to have you back at Comfy Cabins in the future using your return guest discount.

The Good: Great location, very peaceful. The cabin was perfect for our getaway. Loved the hot tub under the stars. The kitchen was well stocked and appointed. The furniture was comfortable and in good condition. The Bad: The bathroom floor is very uneven with the large stones. The stairs to the loft sleeping area are steep and narrow - could be an issues for some people. The bathroom was not very well cleaned prior to arrival - dirty sink, dried urine on the front of the toilet, shower curtain stuck together with soap/shampoo residue. The bathroom was the only problem we had with the cabin, but it wouldn't prevent us from staying there again. The overall size, location, and amenities provided were great. It's a nice scenic drive from Leavenworth to the cabin.
Property Manager Response:
Response from NW Comfy Cabins Inc. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed this home. We apologize for any housecleaning issues however. We have changed our entire housekeeping program to an 'in house' approach so that we have much better control over the cleaning of the cabins. We have experienced less 1% of previous issues and that is something we continue to keep as a very high priority. The stone floor is a really neat cabin feature, all stones from the property itself, but might not be something everyone enjoys the same. I hope that you will consider the Far and Away cabin again when choosing a getaway, and be sure to use your return guest discount to do so. Denise

I grew up taking family trips to the mountains, and I wanted my kids to have the same experience. What we were looking for was a cozy cabin, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, with lots of snow to enjoy some quality family time. Far and Away cabin delivered all of that and more. The scenery was beautiful, the cabin was perfect for our family. We had planned on visiting some local attractions during our stay, but we were all enjoying the cabin so much we just stayed there the whole time, playing in the snow outside, playing games and reading inside, and having the cell phones off. It was just perfect - we hope to make Far and Away a regular tradition.

A very nice, cozy, well maintained log cabin in a beautiful secluded area with plenty of room for our dogs to run and playThe kitchen was well stocked with spices and cooking utensils, the furniture is nice and comfy, and there is a enclosed porch with a small dining table and futon on the back of the cabin that would be a great place to hang out in warmer weather. The only issue we had is that the house is several feet above the ground, which I'm sure is necessary in the winter with the snow, but it made getting our 14yr old Lab up and down the stairs to the yard difficult since he can't climb or descend them by himself. The young guys didn't have any trouble, but maybe something to consider if you have a large senior dog that requires assistance with stairs.Overall, we had a great time and would absolutely stay here again.

Response from NW Comfy Cabins Inc. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and your pups had a great time. I apologize for the stairs, which could definitely cause some trouble for an old timer. We hope to see you back soon. Danny :)

The Fisher's Cabin on the banks of the White River is a wonderful retreat. This authentic, hand-built log cabin is gorgeous, rustic, and cozy. It's setback from the road - surrounded by trees, but with a view to the river. The mattresses and bedding were welcoming after a long day hiking in the woods. The cabin has many games with a cozy warm place to play them. The White River Valley is beautiful: quiet, isolated, undeveloped. The WhiteRiver flows out of the Glacier Peak Wilderness area; sockeye salmon stillrun in its waters every fall. It's perfect for a couple or a family. Thekitchen has all the functionality you'd want or need in your home. You canheat the cabin with electricity or wood. The location is also perfect: very close to Lake Wenatchee, with at leastfour trailheads leading into nearby national forest within an 8 minutedrive. Excellent for walkers and hikers, swimmers and boaters, and mountainbikers and road bikers. Nearby towns (with good shopping and restaurantsoptions) include Plain, Leavenworth and Wenatchee. If you are looking for a quiet mountain retreat, the Fisher's Cabin - justtwo hours from Seattle - is really the perfect spot.
