A guest from Uniontown, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2016 we had a family gathering and it was great. Everything was clean and the house looked great. this is my second year at the same house doing the gathering and we will continue next year again
A guest from Burgettstown, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2016 We reserved this cabin about a year in advance. The location is perfect and the character of the cabin itself is amazing. When we did our initial walk-through, there were some cosmetic issues like burned out lights, inoperable outlets and general yard maintenance that we noted to ownership. 1 year later, the exact same issues were still there. We called the day of arrival to get the numerous light bulbs replaced (many of which were outside, along the front and side porch). We never heard from the handyman and nobody ever followed up with us or came out to fix the issues. Additionally, we were given a bit of the run-around when it came to checking in. The phone system that is listed as the contact number is not the most effective way to go about handling urgent needs. At the end of the weekend, the property is beautiful, but slightly neglected.
A guest from New Castle, PA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2016 4 of us went and stayed at the vineyard chalet for a girls weekend. The location was amazing, right beside a distillery and across the street from Christian Klay Win winery. This place is only a 15 to 20 minute drive to ohiopyle as well! The downfall of this place was the condition. While the furniture was in good condition the chalet itself was not. The downstairs bathroom needs totally gutted and remodeled. The bathtub/ shower was tiny! I am 5'10 and had to kneel to wash my hair! The baseboard heater was completely rusted and the whole bathroom was dated. The fridge front is covered in rust spots, although it works well. The one upstairs balcony is falling apart and coming away from the chalet. The exterior needed some work and the path to the front door is covered by a huge bush. The wifi at the place is super slow and when we first got there it didn't work and we had to reset the router. Then bench outside on the front porch is falling apart and we were afraid it will fall apart on us. The changer said it was good for 9 people but only had 4 or 5 forks and it only had one baby skillet. Overall the location and furniture was great but this places NEEDS major work.

A guest from Pittsburgh, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2016 The location and building were beautiful. Would definiely stay again. The only downside was the showercurtain should be changed. The moldy smell in the bathroom was almost overpowering.

Linda M. from Caledonia, WI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2016 The building is older and needs maintenance and updating. There were burned out lights, loose shingles, and sagging floors. In addition, the shower curtain liner was stained. The upstairs carpeting was also stained. The water softener wasn't even connected to the water supply. On the plus side, there was a good assortment of kitchen items provided.
Property Manager Response: Response from Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals Hi Linda!

Vineyard Chalet getaway perfect for a weekend trip
Katie A. from Worthington, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2016 Our family had a fantastic time at the Vineyard Chalet, and it was a great location for everything we wanted to do in the area. Thanks!
Christine T. from Reynoldsburg, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2016 Property good overall. Needs landscape maintenance desperately as well as exterior spruce up. Management company failed on pre- arranged floral delivery. Money was refunded but nobody really seemed to care that it didn't get done. Four days without return call. No offer to go above and beyond to remedy.

This property is close to a winery and a distillery. And it's about 10 minutes away from the Lady Luck Casino.
A guest from Langhorne, PA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 IT was convenient, but it is old but as clean as it could be. Customer Service Rep when we called to find out if it was a problem if we checked in when we got there early and she was rude. Needed some check in and out leeway since we were driving from two different directions plus there was no one ahead of us or coming in behind us. No worry we will not use your services again. directions and
Kara H. from Claysville, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2016 OVR has the best cabins and exceptional customer service. This chalet has everything you need for a great stay in the mountains.(3 bedrooms, 2 bunk beds, fire pit, grill, wifi, open kitchen area with an island which is perfect for family gatherings) Awesome location! This property is steps away from the winery and a distillery! And it's only minutes away from great restaurants, the Braddock Inn is a must for breakfast! Thanks to Richard who helped me with all the questions I had regarding my reservation. We will definitely be back :)
Sadie S. from Allison Park, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2015 My friends and I planned a girls' getaway in between the holidays, and we couldn't have picked a better place. The chalet was clean, welcoming, and very cozy. Its proximity to the winery and new distillery was very convenient. It was the perfect place to unplug from everything and catch up with old friends!
Kathy W. from New Richmond, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 Was a good stay (second time we stayed there) but had a few issues: 1) had to call to get check in instructions and then the lock for the door was not the right code; 2) light out in upstairs bath and called to get replaced and never replaced; 3) received a call from "sister" company that was the restaurant up the road - wasn't comfortable my information was shared with others.
Pina I. from New York City, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 we loved every moment of our stay at the vineyard chalet. it was so peaceful and lovely. the home was cozy and spacious...just perfect!
A guest from Catawissa, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 The Vineyard Chalet was fine. We were unable to locate the towels. They were stored in an unlikely location. When I called the answering service was unable to reach anyone in a timely fashion and when I called an hour later I was told I would have to wait until the next day for assistance. I said that was unacceptable and still never got a call back! We purchased towels only to find them the next day. I never received any call back from the realtor. They could have handled this MUCH better! At a minimum let the service know where you hide the towels. I was a little surprised at no dishwasher but that was minor. The area is lovely and we had a nice time.
Jessica B. from Belle Vernon, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 We rented this house from Thursday - Sunday for the weekend of our wedding which was at the winery. It was adorable, reasonably priced, and AMAZINGLY convienant. We were able to store our wedding decorations there Thursday. The bridesmaids and I stayed there Friday night. Saturday we had about 15 girls, 2 hair dressers, a make up artist, 2 photographers, a videographer, a ring bearer and father of the bride all getting ready there and we were never crowded or in each others ways. After the wedding my new husband and I simply walked across the path to the house. My only complaint would be the customer service. I had to call for a week straight before someone would return my calls to allow me to book the house. The day before check in I had to call several times before I could get a hold of someone to get the key code. Other than that it was awesome.
A guest from Pittsburgh, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2015 We rented the Vineyard Chalet for a bachelorette weekend. The bride-to-be wanted to go to a winery so this house was perfect since Christian Klay Winery is just steps away! We had an awesome time. We were all pleasantly surprised with the house when we walked inside, as it was much cuter than the pictures showed. I would definitely go back.
Good Location if you are having an event at the Winery
James D. from SMITHFIELD, PA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 Upon arrival the house was quite musty smelling, immediately we opened all windows. Then proceeded to sweep out spider webs that were between the bottoms of the kitchen counters and floor. At that point I had dropped a bottle of water on the kitchen floor, when I wiped it up with a papertowel, the paper towel was filthy. The closets were also full of cob webs and we had lots of wedding clothes to hang up. 8 sets of towels is not sufficient for 9 guests for three nights. We were told to wash them, or we could pay $20 for each additional set. We did wash them, as the water in the washer came out black, turned to brown, then finally clear. As you know the dryer did not work.... Thank you for sending a repair man asap!! He was a gem, taking the wet laundry, and returning with clean towels and wash cloths, kitchen towels, but no hand towels for the baths :( . Then as we tried to grill, the shelf that the charcoal lays on was completely rusted as well as the bottom of the grill, allowing the coal to fall thru, and did not allow our burgers and hot dogs to cook..... I might stay again if I had an event at the Winery, if it were not so early in the season and the unit was thoroughly cleaned and everything in good working order. After two long nights of suffering with allergies to mold/mildew we actually left a night early... around 8 pm Saturday, because we could not breathe...( The no recommendation in this survey would be in the current state of the property.) I am sure cleaning staff could do a quick walk thru, especially if the unit has been vacant for a few weeks...and 9 people with one shower that is literally dark to shower in once you close the curtain did not work out so well.... it could be a really great place with just a few adjustments. Again its a great location to the Winery.
A guest from Allison Park, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 The house was in a great location and did have all the amenities we needed and more. We loved that we could take our large dogs with us and share the experience with them. The beds where comfortable the sheets and towels very clean and nice to use. The temperature in the house stayed cool enough we did not have to turn on the air units. We loved the big yard with the grill and fireplace to enjoy during the day... But and there is always a "but" we were not aware until they charge us in full and sent us the packet of stuff to bring that we were going to be using well water. Which we can deal with, however the bathroom water is not run as much as the kitchens and when we turned it on rust came out at first! and the smell was very unpleasant we did not feel very clean! Otherwise I loved the house:)
A guest from Pittsburgh, PA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2014 Positive : The cottage is in a great location and was very clean. The beds are very comfortable and we enjoyed the fire pit in the side yard. Negative: The decks need some maintenance - the power strip and wiring hanging under the wall mounted TV is not only ugly but a hazard. While the management is very friendly - reply emails were not very timely and had to call several times just to pay deposit( when phone answered the staff was not in an area to take credit card info) Paypal would help this be more efficient.
Kathy W. from New Richmond, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2014 Had a great experience here. The property could use a little maintenance. It operates off well water so sulphur smell when taking shower or using water. Clean and great location (across from vineyard). Was a great girlfriend getaway!
Amy H. from Yardley, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2014 Great place to stay while attending friend's weekend wedding festivities. Easy, central location to sports and events in area. Only weird thing is the water in the area smells sulphuric.
Anna S. from Wilmington, OH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 Late receiving rental key code and instructions.Made multiple calls TO A VOICE MAIL. Car all pack, ready to leave the house,6 hours before the check in ( we had a 5 1/2 hours drive) had to check and recheck the email for instructions. No salt or pepper, in the kitchen, half toilet rolls in bathroom with no spares.During stay heavy rain , no flash lights in case of power outage.Cabin next to a area with construction in progress. Constant beeping noise and traffic noise.Decks, doors, carpet dire need of upkeep.Nice furniture, clean beds.Plenty of towels. Only one shower/tub .Fine for my husband and myself but not for large groups specially non related scenic views including the winery across the street with weeds growing up the fences and trash bin in front of property.
A guest from Mechanicsburg, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 Pretty chalet in a wooded setting. Convenient for us as it is close to family property for reunions, but gives us our own space for relaxing and unwinding after socializing all day with family.
A guest from Sylvania, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2014 We came to the Vineyard Chalet for a short vacation at Ohiopyle. We had two families and the house was perfect. Terrific location, clean, comfortable and well maintained. Loved sitting out on the front deck in the morning and enjoying the firepit in the evening. I would definitely stay here again!
Chris E. from Jackson, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 The chalet was nice and the location was convenient. We took advantage of the winery across the street. The place was a bit noisy (traffic on Route 40), and the hot water stunk of iron and sulfur. The sulfur smell permeated the house.
Karen D. from Ocala, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 We had a family reunion at the OVR. Over 50+ relatives rented with OVR. We stayed at the VC and enjoyed the privacy and the grounds. Badminton was available in the closet so Grandpa set it up. When moments allowed, Grandpa, Mom and grandson enjoyed hitting the birdie. Very rustic and clean(ensuring ants do not abound isn't possible in the woods[maybe some ant houses would minimize population];-( ) A few boards on the porch need replacing to avoid splinters on little ones feet.Time to replace the refrig as foods freeze within refrig...costly throw away. Please place a blender in each cottage.I brought mine on the plane...Ugh!) Wish our five rentals had been closer. Next time we'll be sure to check distances. Sooooooo much to choose to do in and around Ohiopyle. Thank you.
A guest from Hanover, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 The only drawback was the sulfur in the water. The filtration system was wholly inadequate. It's tough to have a great stay with poor water quality. Otherwise, everything else was great.
Kathie S. from York, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 The Chalet is a cute little house in a beautiful location. It's probably very quiet most of the time. The vineyard across the street had a wedding and there was lots of music, but it was no problem for us. We visited their wine shop, the people were friendly and the wine was excellent. As far as the accommodations, the chalet was a little more worn down than the pictures online, but still nice. There was a bit of a funky smell which seemed to be coming from the laundry, but we were only there for the weekend and it didn't seem to be noticed by anyone but me. The bedrooms could use some night stands and mirrors, but the beds we're clean and comfortable. The chalet sleeps 6-8, but my two adult daughters weren't crazy about the "bunk bed loft" which was an open area in the upstairs hallway, would be great for kids though! I would recommend this place and I would stay there again!
Sunny L. from Pittsburgh, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 Stayed here for two days w my family who was coming in from nj. Location was great for visiting ohiopyle, kentuck knob, and falling water. The weather was unseasonably cold but the cabin's heating system worked a treat and we had a wood fire going.
A guest from Charleston, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 The home we rented was pretty nice, was convenient, and suited the purpose of a get together with friends, but was expecting something a little nicer based on price and photos.
Michael M. from Cyprus, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 We had a fantastic time while staying at Vineyard Chalet. It was very peaceful and great to sit by the fire and listen to nature. It was very clean and had plenty of beds to sleep in. I would highly recommend and can't wait for a return visit!
Luke B. from Carnegie, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 We had a great time at Ohiopyle! The house was nice and in a great location. A lot of space indoor and out. Outside decks/furniture could use some upkeep. Fire pit was nice. Large charcoal grill so bring extra charcoal. 9 miles to Ohiopyle. Minutes from Laurel Caverns.
Jessica L. from Monroeville, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in March, 2013 It was pretty expensive just for one night because it was just my husband two children and I. But if you were going with more than one family or a couple of friends to split price it wouldn't be so bad! The house was big! LOVED building a fire in fire pit and kids hunting eggs in the snow :)
A guest from Pittsburgh, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in October, 2012 The house and rental company were great. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and that goes a long way. Because of that I wouldn't hesitate from renting from them again! Thanks!
Pamela R. from Evanston, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 It is a lovely quiet spot to relax and enjoy the Fall Colors. We liked the Chalet, but could not locate the bath towels. We enjoyed the proximity to Ohiopyle State Park, Fallingwater, and the Christian Klay Winery.
A guest from Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 We stayed for 2 nights at the Vineyard Chalet, booking at short notice(around 2 weeks ahead). We stayed Thurs &Fri nights and were charged the weekend rate for both nights - after querying this, I was told this was because it wouldn't be possible to rent to anyone else for that weekend(though this was not explained on the website and seemed unlikely anyway, given the short timescales). In terms of the size, facilities &location of the property, it was perfect for us -5 adults, a 13month old and 6 week old baby, visiting Fallingwater. The kitchen units / cup'ds, cutlery, crockery were spotless and the beds very clean and comfortable. However, externally, the decks, windows and furniture were covered in cobwebs - as were the corners inside the property and the skirting boards / heaters, with dead insects and spiders. We looked under the sofa and there was a very thick layer of dust and dirt, and an old dog biscuit was found under one of the beds. This wasn't ideal for our crawling baby but we didn't spend much time in the property so we managed. On the plus side, the firepit was a great addition,as was the grill, and we ordered the BBQ pack of burgers from the Stonehouse restaurant (from the useful menu on the fridge)which was absolutely great - fantastic quality and very good value.OVerall, the chalet would have been perfect if it had been given a proper clean. We used the vacuum in one of the bedrooms but it wasn't in good working order so was pretty inefficient. We recognise we are staying in the countryside so are going to see bugs from time to time, but the inside of the property would have benefitted from a deep clean which would have improved our overall experience.
Dinah P. from Somerset, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 The guests who stayted in the rental property thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The Chalet was well stocked, clean and perfect. They were in the wedding party, and live in Georgia. They enjoyed Western PA and expressed their stay as "exquisite"...... Thank you so much!!!!
A guest from McGaheysville, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2012 Roomy, comfortable, convenient location. Close to Stone House Restaurant and right across the street Klay Vineyard. Great deck and firepit for sitting outside. Tricia, our Property Manager was super terrific to work with before and during our stay.
Linda L. from Industry, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 It is hard to know for sure when you rent a place on line, however, everyone was pleasantly pleased and we had a great weekend.
Ron S. from Litchfield, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 this was our first family vacation in over 15 years-varity of activities in the area help to make it a memorable week.
Bill W. from Plymouth, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 Convenient to all the things we wanted to do. The winery was a nice touch being across the road. Also discovered other things in the area to go to next time we vacation in the area.
Deborah W. from West Chester, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 we called about malfunctioning coffee pot and it was quickly replaced. Nice house, good shower. Plenty of kitchen ware. One bed mattress was uncomfortable however and it would have been nice to have more seating around the fire pit-- the guys had to carry them back and forth each time.
A guest from Sabillasville, MD does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2012 The accommodations were OK, but we won't be renting it again. Let me suggest some ways to improve it. When the paperwork says it has a TV, these days that means you have cable. Folks with kids can be REALLY counting on cable as entertainment, not just a DVD player. The master bedroom bed should be replaced with something that meets today's standards; namely, a king-sized bed. I weigh 170 and my husband weighs 220, so that small, squeaky bed kept waking us up. Please update the paperwork regarding the grill outside. Some of the lit. says that it is propane, but it is a nice new charcoal grill/smoker. We had to make a run to the store as soon as we got there because it was clear we needed some things: ice, charcoal, towels. We left ice in the freezer so the next renters didn't have to go get it. For the small things, for $10 these things could be provided. However, for all the improvements, I realize that I am talking about investing a few thousand into the place, but at least for our demographic, a couple of boomers with no kids, a good night's sleep, CNN, and not needing a convenience store the first night there are important. Best wishes, Katherine
