A guest from Madison, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 We were a little scared after reading some of the reviews for other properties at this location. When we arrived the refridgerator was broken and the blinds would not close in the bedrooms. But after a phone call, the management company came out and took care of all of our problems. The management company was great through out our entire stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. As far as the rest of the property, overall I would say a nice place. We heard a lot of complaints about elevators being to slow, maybe we were just really lucky, but never had to wait for more than a few minutes. The only two drawbacks were the fee to use the pool and beach access, seems this should be included. The other complaint is trash on the beach, tons of cigarette butts and few broken bottles. My son actually stepped on a broken bottle and had to go to Doctor. Im sure this is a problem everywhere and not the properties fault. But seems like they could clean it up a little more often. If you just plan on the extra fees for the pool access, we would definitely recommend this for a family vacation.
Terry A. from Owensboro, KY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 The condo itself was set-up nicely for my needs. We took my wife, two sons, and 2 friends. The bunks are where the friends stayed and the boys in the second bedroom. It does have 3 bathrooms so there was never any wait for a bathroom. The carpet needs some updating, the carpet in the living room was frayed where it meets the tile of the kitchen and the tack strip cut the toe of one of my sons friend. The worst part about the stay was the wait for elevators. We stayed on the 20th floor so sometimes it was a 10 minute or longer wait for an elevator that would stop at least 16 of the 20 floors on the way up or down. Most of the time you needed to catch the elevator even if it was going the wrong way just so you could get on it. There is a Walmart across the street within walking distance but unless you got there very early in the morning finding any groceries was difficult because it was so busy. The facility has a parking garage that is 13 stories high for a 23 story building and most of the good parking spots were reserved for owners, so it was an adventure finding parking and it seemed to take forever to circle down 10-12 floors just to get to the street. The pool area was very nice with a tiki hut and grill on site. The food and drinks were overpriced. On the beach were wooden chairs with umbrellas that were for rent for $40.00 dollars per day. This unit does not have any chairs included. I took a 9 foot canopy and set it up behind the chairs and did fine. If the unit updates and elevator issues were resolved this would be a very nice place to stay but I believe this unit is overpriced.
Rebecca L. from Gainsville, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 9 days in June, 2014 Our room, unit #2007 at The Shores of Panama was horrible. The carpet was the main problem. The carpet was totally detached from the kitchen with nails exposed along the entire width of the kitchen entrance. The carpet and nails where a problem in at least three other areas. My family stepped on nails repeatedly throughout the 9 day stay. The walls were scuffed up in every room. The ice maker made a squealing sound. The garbage disposal had something lodged in it and could not be used. The couch was filthy and had cigarette burns in it. The carpet was not only dangerous, but filthy. The comforters were ripped and dirty. I called Best Beach Getaways as soon as we got in the room and reported the issues. They asked me to send photos to the maintenance people, which I did. They said they would send someone to clean. The did absolutely nothing. At one point they mistakenly changed our door lock code, locking us out of the room with no phone/money/nothing. When I got a hold of them they did quickly give us a new door code but when asked about the nails sticking up they said they would look into it and call me back. They never did. I called when we were checking out so that I would not be charged extra which was a condition in the contract and when asked how my visit was I, for the third time told them how bad the room was. I did get a call from Matt, some sort of supervisor who did apologize and said he would give a discount. The discount was very minimal, about $200 on a $1500 bill. I would never recommend this rental agency or this unit. I also thought it was misleading advertising on VERBO. VERBO stands for Vacation Rentals By Owner. A rental agency is not the owner, has no idea of the condition of the unit and apparently doesn't care.
Trina C. from Coldwater, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2014 Great view, excellent location, awesome food nearby, and a nice room for a good price.the college sprig breakers were a little loud but that was expected :)the elevators could be slow at times but other than that we loved it!
Jennifer G. from pekin, IN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2014 Upon arrival used condoms and beer cans in the hallway. Blood all over the door and entrance to condo. Had to ask for that to be cleaned up. Poor decision on the Mgmt to allow college age kids as renters and I was not told that upon renting. Holes in the carpet by the kitchen 3x4 inch space. Minimum pots and pans condo rents for 6-8 and only 5 forks. Holes in the blinds on the back of condo by hallway where everyone could see in. Up every night past 2AM 3-5 knocks on the windows. Arm bands to use the pool and sauna not advertised as additional purchase of over $250.00 for the week. Staff no uniforms. Stayed at the property 4 years ago and it was AMAZING this is a prime example of mismanagement and 37 reasons as why not to buy a time share or a rental condo. The grounds have upkeep really as deteriorated. Also know when renting the parking garage is only 13 stories and this condo does not come with a parking space unfortunately I though all of them did. No bag handlers or assistance. Elevators slow and always a wait. I paid $40.00 to two guys to help us to the room and it took over an hour to get there with waiting for an elevator. Worst vacation ever!! Condo needs painted new carpet (pack house shoes or socks cant walk in bare feet).
A guest from Harriman, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2013 We had a good experience. One problem, the carpet was coming up at the seam near the kitchen, & my daughter walked on it, and the nails stuck her.
