Stick Your Toes in the Water from the Balcony!
Shelby J. from Brevard, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2015 Being so close to the water rates highest on our list of pluses for Waterside. Next in no particular order were the affordable price, the cheerful and totally helpful personnel, and the clean well-maintained accommodations. We stayed in one of the smallest rooms and did miss the presence of a small table for light meals, using our laps on the balcony on warm days and the bed on cool days. Outside of that we were happy clams! Highly recommend Waterside.
Eleanor W. from Williamsburg, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2014 Having last visited Sanibel over 20 years ago was concerned it wouldn't live up to the expectations I promised my daughter. Waterside Inn did NOT disappoint One negative - you cannot watch sunset from your balcony, but hey, beach is steps away!!!!!! :)
A guest from Brooksville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 We enjoyed the accommodations. They were clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful and polite. Location was close to the beach, (40 yards) from our room.
Eurides C. from Winter Park, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 Stayed in hotel part (pineapple room #119). - small fridge but u can fit a good amount of food & drinks. Cold fridge which is a plus. - plenty of room to fit a pack and play for my baby. Just had to move some chairs around. - cold air conditioner, a little loud but helps keep out noise from other guests ( although guests were respectful and quiet). Remote to adjust temperature included. Ac is cooooold! - decent size bathroom with double sinks, closet for hanging your clothes. Also bathtub has built in ridges that prevent slipping. My 15 mo. Old loved taking showers and walking around in the tub with no concerns of slipping. Hot water was also great! No loss of hot water ever.- beds were comfortable. I had 2 queen size. Used one to keep stuff on. - ice machine in the halfway was great! Hotel and property is clean and kept ver nice! - there is a pool which is always a plus. Handicap ramps for wheel chairs and strollers. - shuffle board near the beach!- little hut (chi chi hut) with picnic table underneath it by th beach came in handy!Staying at a cottage / hotel on the beach is very convinient. Watched sunsets easily. Also you don't need to pay $2/hr but if you go to bowmans beach or the lighthouse beach you do need to pay. There is also a $6 toll coming into Sanibel Island. You only need to pay it anytime you come in, not leaving. I had Florida e-pass so i used that to pay it. We also ate at the sand bar restaurant 1 minute car ride. Great food. They have many little restaurants & food stores around. Overall excellent experience! Will be back!
Renato L. from Chur, NA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 We loved our stay at the Waterside Inn! The room in the Pineapple was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom was clean and of a good size. From the balcony we were able to overlook the beautiful beach. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. The beach is just fantastic, we loved to walk along the beach or to swim in the warm ocean. The people at the office were very friendly and helpful. With the different plants and palmtrees surrounding the house we felt like beeing on a dreamlike vacation. The location directly at the beach is just outstanding, it's a luxury to walk straight to the beach without crossing a street or driving in the car! We would definitely recommend this place to everyone who loves a quiet place in beautiful location.
John B. from Norwich, Norfolk recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 The room was the best on our 2 week fly drive holiday.pool under the Palm tree's was near the sea.staff very helpful. The best 2 nights, wish we could have stayed longer.
Sarah P. from Sunrise, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 Absolutely Fabulous!!! So beautiful and peaceful. I have been going to Sanibel for over 20 years....since I found Waterside Inn...this is my favorite place. From the first time I called to make reservations right up to check out.....I was given the best treatment I could possible ask for. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. I absolutely love it there!!!! I didn't want to leave! :O)
Thomas B. from Southwest Ranches, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 We stayed at Waterside Inn for our 1 year wedding anniversary. The rooms were very nice and so very close to the beach! We visited during mermorial day weekend so I was thinking there would be a lot of people. I was pleasantly surprised their wasn't and we were able to have nice romantic weekend getaway! We will definitely be visiting again next year!
A guest from Oakland, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2014 We loved our stay at Waterside Inn, and would recommend it highly to anyone heading to Sanibel. The staff at the front desk were very professional , friendly, and accommodating. They even let us hang out for a couple hours at the pool after we checked out. The room was comfortable and clean. But the best part was the location and the view. Every evening we would walk out to the beach, which was seriously just steps from our room, dragging one of the lounge chairs provided for the guests, and sit and watch the sunset. We do want to apologize to the cleaning crew, we are sorry we got so much sand on the carpet in our room! The sand is so soft, more of it stuck to our sandals than we realized! Sorry guys!! We had a great time on Sanibel, and we would definitely return to Waterside.
Sue E. from Newark, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014 We have stayed at the Waterside many times and love it there. However, since we were there last they changed their smoking policy. Now you can't even smoke on your outside deck. You must be at least 15 feet from the building. We won't be going back.
A guest from Chapel Hill, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2014 Let me start by saying that I chose the least expensive room to stay in, so any drawbacks to this room would not be an issue for some of the other options at Waterside. There were only two disappointments. The room was in the middle of the building (Pineapple), and was quite dark. It was necessary to keep lights on even in the middle of the day. But otherwise, the room was large, nicely decorated, immaculately clean, and very comfortable. The other issue, the room next door had a family with two small children. These kids were quite loud, running in and out of the room and letting their door slam shut. I didn't mention anything to the management because I only had the room for one day. And kids do play! So I don't blame the children. If my stay had been longer, I probably would have asked to be moved to another room if one was available. Now on a more positive note -- and there are many! The location of Waterside is perfect. The building is about 20 feet from the beach, and the beach is quite uncrowded on this part of the island. Even with all its privacy, the inn is located a short drive (or bike ride) to restaurants, shopping, and the Ding Darling preserve. The people running the inn were very friendly and helpful. I met several others staying there, and many of them come down for a month or two at a time. Having so many repeat visitors says a lot about a place. Next time I stay at Waterside, I think I would upgrade to a cottage or maybe a room on the end of the building with a spectacular view. Not all the cottages have views of the water, but the ones I saw are bright and comfortable, and really only a few steps from the beach. If someone is the kind of person who thinks of their hotel room as just a place to stay and whose main priorities are good value, location, proximity to the beach, and easy access to this beautiful island, then this room would be just fine.
RICHARD C. from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 First time there. We loved it. A perfect getaway. Extremely freindly, helpful and courteous staff. Well kept and lovely grounds. Very clean and comfortable unit. Ideal place on the beach. Gorgeous sunsets. Will definitely go back and for a longer stay.
Nancy S. from Tarpon, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 Walked in, threw my bags on the bed, popped open a Lime a Rita and headed for the beach which was a stone's throw away. Amazing sunset and wonderful experience. I'd come back, but this time with a friend or two.
A guest from Lithia, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in July, 2013 Loving the condo unit that giving plenty of space for relaxation and activities. Lots of seashells, lovely people, beautiful olde time Florida feeling. I would be back next year~!
Kris S. from Edwardsville, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2013 This is the place to stay. The beach is only a few yards away and there are millions of shells. The rooms are clean and large. The staff is very friendly. There really is no need to pay and park to go to another beach. This place has it all. If you plan on eating out, most places are 15 min away and there is usually a line. We are going back with the entire family!!!
A guest from Loves Park, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 The only thing I didn't like is that when we first arrived the air conditioner was on a little cold and it took me forever to figure out there was a remote control. I had tried to manually change it, but it wouldn't let me adjust the temperature with out the remote. Likewise the was no difference in fan speed. I did appreciate the use of beach towels as well as the reccomendation for attractions on the island. Everyone was very helpful.
