Just six miles down Hwy. 98 you can enjoy Destin ? ? The Worlds Luckiest Fishing Village? ? charter a private trip or take the kids out on a group boat and catch dinner. While in Destin enjoy fine restaurants, shopping, and golfing on some of the best golf courses in the Panhandle of Florida. Back at the El Matador enjoy the large grass areas between our buildings just right for family fun and games. With two pools, his and her whirlpool, and saunas just right for your tired muscles after a game of tennis on one of our courts, or in our fitness center. We are located at the end of Okaloosa Island a small barrier Island between Fort Walton Beach and Destin. This gated community with thirteen miles of undeveloped beaches to the west is sure to have you longing to return.

A guest from Smyrna, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2016 It was wonderful and relaxing
Property Manager Response: Response from Alicia J. Hollis, Realtor We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at 351 El Matador and the wonderful location of the unit and the property. The views from the 5th floor must have been unreal and extraordinary with the wonderful sunsets. We hope that you join us again in the future to this great unit and our excellent beaches.
Susan S. from Canton, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2015 The best thing about this unit is the view! It was really nice being at the end of Okaloosa's developed area. The beach was clean, the grounds well-maintained, and the property staff was friendly, yet professional. You can rent paddle boards and kayaks very reasonably, right there on the condo's private beach. Don't let reviews that mention out-dated decor turn you away... the furniture is clean and comfortable, and did I mention the view is awesome? (and if it rains, there's a huge TV to look at!)
Property Manager Response: Response from Alicia J. Hollis, Realtor Thanks so much Susan for filling in your review to let others know about this great condo at the el matador unit 351, about the furniture and the large tv in the living room. This has such a wonderful view and comfortable furnishings for your enjoyment, and I appreciate very much your comments, and will be happy to accommodate you again when you are in the area.
A guest from Belle Chaise, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2015 BEAUTIFUL VIEW, VERY RELAXING. BEACH NOT OVERCROWDED, LARGE POOL, VERY SAFE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Property Manager Response: Response from Alicia J. Hollis, Realtor We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at the El Matador unit 351, a direct view of the water, and a very comfortable unit. This is gulf front condo, that you will enjoy having breakfast on the balcony and your lunch, and at nite just watch the sunset. Most of all you can also see the dolphins off the balcony and that is the best part. Hope we see you again.
Visiting Our Son Stationed at Hurlburt Field Air Force Base
A guest from Monroe, MI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2015 The condo was very outdated as far as decor and bedding as well as the kitchen. Stove did not function properly. Outlets throughout the condo did not work. Pull out couch in the living room had no support and the blankets were all ripped and balled up. Three family members had bed bug bites on their bodies after sleeping on the couch. Had to be treated at the family doctor upon returning home. Our son in the Air Force was bitten in numerous spots and was very uncomfortable going back to the base. Very unkempt behind the couch, under the beds, and along the floor boards. Shower curtains dragging on the floor. The condo needs a good paint job and major updates. Would NOT recommend Unit 351 to a friend. We feel a partial refund to the credit card is in order.
A guest from Jasper, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2014 Location and view tremendous! On arrival cookie and popcorn crumbs on coffee table. Trash bags too thin and not enough of them. TVs not working correctly. Rental company maintenance tried to correct but needs to be corrected by installer. Need darkening blinds in second bedroom and new mattress. Light flashing outside kitchen window. Need copy of instructions in elevator in realtor notebook. Gate guards great
Don B. from Decatur, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 It needs updating. the sliding doors to the balcony do not lock. the sink in the guest bathroom did not have a stopper. IT appears as though this unit has not been updated since it was built in the 70's. IT was clean, and comfortable, but not the nicest one I have stayed in.
Emily J. from Hendersonville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2014 I have been coming to EL Matador since I was a teenager. I am now 53. This is the first time that the buildings appear to need a lot of attention: Concrete breaking away, rust on the steel, roof damage, etc. The grounds looked great as always, except that the boardwalk near bldg 3 needs some boards replaced/redone. Unit 351 is in deperate need of updating. The wallpaper in the master bath was old and peeling off. There were no ceiling fans to move air around. The new deck chairs were great however.
Property Manager Response: Response from Alicia J. Hollis, Realtor Hi Emily, thanks for letting us know about El Matador, but, they are in the process right now of taking care of the outside of the buildings and balconies, i am sure that you seen a crane out there on the property and it is that to be fixing the buildings. We also had a water spout that came over on the property from the gulf and blew some of the roof, lobby in building 2 and other things around there, and so all of that is scheduled to be fixed, but, we also have to work around everyone that is arriving at the el matador. As for unit 351, we will take care of the wall paper that is coming off and i apologize for that, other then that, i hope you enjoyed your stay, and may God Willing we will see you again. Thanks Chris.
A guest from Slidell, LA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2012 after spending the first two nights in a condo with fleas we were transferred here and it is was very nice. a big deal was initially made about this costing more than what we were renting ($ 735 wk vs $ 600) which was then waived. come to find out the $ 735 place was offering a 20% discount from 9/28-10/31 which meant it would have been $ 588 from the condo complex itself (not the realtor). nice lodging at a nice price.
Nicole S. from Marietta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 The vacation overall was amazing. I love the El Matador property is amazing! Extremely family oriented. Our unit 351 did lack in the area of kitchen utensils, mainly plastic cups or plastic wear. It was clean and all 6 of us slept comfortabley.
