Robyn L. from Winnipeg, MB recommends this property. Stayed for 19 days in February, 2016 From the moment we walked into Caribe Island Resort we felt at home, with friendly people, great wifi in palapa, and Prada the beach dog. The other condo owners and regular renters gave us helpful tips where to shop for groceries, homemade meats such as Sausage Factory, and best places to eat. We had daily breathtaking sunrises and relaxing naps in hammock perfectly situated between two palm trees. Three weeks slipped through our fingers and we hope to return one day.
Larry T. from Winnipeg, Manitoba recommends this property. Stayed for 16 days in January, 2016 Our vacation experience was very relaxing. Nice condos and beach area. Grounds were well maintained as was our condo unit although the taps and shower accessories were fairly rusted and needed replacing. Maintenance did replace the shower head for us. Bed mattress was not very comfortable though and could have used a memory foam topper for comfort. Overall our experience was great and we would stay at this location again.
David W. from Clear Lake, IA recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in January, 2015 We love Ambergris Caye. Our only complaint was Jan. weather is worst than Feb. Also, unit 27's view is of another bldg. Easily fixed. Go to the pool or beach. Great place.
Susan S. from Nova Scotia, NS recommends this property. Stayed for 61 days in April, 2014 Caribe Island Condos' property is very beautiful and well maintained. The pool and gardens were lovely. Our condo was very clean when we arrived but it was not without some problems. After a few days we noticed that the wood around the bathroom window was eroding, and we saw a few ants. Every morning our bathroom vanity contained wood shavings. Initially, the maid and I cleaned the counter top daily. Unfortunately, the ants eating the wood became more apparent to the point where we kept the bathroom door closed at night The last few weeks the number of ants increased and damage to the window continued. It created a continual mess in the bathroom despite the fact that the maid sprayed each time she came in. There are ants in the cupboards as well. One night it poured and the bathroom was flooded the next morning. We discovered that the rain spout, instead of going into the ground, ended at the top of our bathroom window, propelling all the water directly into our bathroom. It was a mess, not only the water, but wood shavings and other debris. Also, the toilet leaked and every day had to be cleaned up. However, I believe this is an isolated incident and the condos are mostly kept in excellent condition. I would recommend this lovely, reasonably priced property to anyone looking for a place to stay on vacation.
Caribe Island Condos, San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize
Linda M. from Warren, Manatoba recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in February, 2014 Beautiful resort. Older condos but well maintained. Large pool. Beautifully landscaped. Far enough from down town San Pedro so quiet and peaceful. Overall a great place to stay.
A guest from Lakewood, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in January, 2014 We had a wonderful 2 weeks @ Caribe Island Resort! Though the condo is described as courtyard, we still had views of the ocean in 2 directions. Erik & Ana were most attentive and responsive to any questions or needs. They made contact before our arrival and arranged transportation from the airport. Erik was very helpful in arranging golf cart rental and restaurant recommendations, as well as very promptly replacing a broken coffee maker. We also highly recommend Carlos and his staff at Suya Tours! The best meal we had on the island was on the beach BBQ trip! His staff is very knowledgeable re: the abundant marine life on the snorkel trips, and cudos to "eagle eye" Daniel, who could spot fish, rays, sea turtles, eels, etc. that we would have easily overlooked! The location is a little out of town, but easily accessible by cart or a walk on the beach. A taxi ride is a mere few minute ride. The beach and grounds are meticulously maintained, and very quiet. Often, we were the only 2 on the beach! We saw rays & fish rom the end of the dock. The owners of the other condos were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful in offering suggestions for restaurants, shopping, activities, etc. I would definitely recommend a stop at the duty free store on your way to Belize, as liquor is quite expensive on the island, except for the local rum, coconut rum, and vodka. We felt very safe at the condo as there is security on duty all night. Though very small, we were amazed at the variety of products that were available at Marina's convenience store. It's a 2 minute walk from the condo and very convenient. Be sure to try the cinnamon bread and homemade tamales! Also, there is a wall mounted hair dryer in #27, so you don't have to pack one!
Reviewed by: Keith F. recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2013 Overall I was satisfied with the condo with a few exceptions. The beds were not comfortable...hard as a rock, and there was no high speed internet in the condo as advertised, had to go out around the pool cabana to get reception where the bugs would eat you alive.
Charged an extra $401 after I left with no explanation!
Reviewed by: Dale K. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 30 days in October, 2013 Carib Island was very clean and beautiful. It's a good distance from town and much of the road is dirt, pot holes and full of water. Not walkable. You have to rent an expensive gulf cart to get to get into town. Taxi's are not existant south of the town on the dirt road.
Myra F. from Haymarket, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 I have been coming to this property since 2009 and just love it! Everytime I return I learn something new about it. Now I know how the Internet works (outside on the porch on my iPhone), where to place the trash (near Pelican Bay property), where to get my clothes washed (JJ's across from Marina's) and have a fave cab driver (Pablo Sosa).I look forward to the next time.Belize is still un-Belizeable!
A guest from Nelson, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in February, 2013 Our Rental with Red Hammock was exceptional ! Eric and Ana were very professional in taking care of all our needs.
Valerie C. from Marseille, recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in December, 2012 the apartment had only 3 chairs meanwhile we were 4 person. The fridge was not clean. All linens needed to be cleaned as it was really dirty, same for pillows. No cleaning service provided. The shower tap needs to be cleaned. There was no enough bedsheets to be changed within the 10 days -only 1 set for 2 beds. No laundry service. No bar/restaurant service in the condo. The neighbored beach was very dirty.
Paul S. from ONtario, Canada recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2011 The weather was perfect. The unit 27 although not an ocean front was quiet and suited us perfectly. Our only complaint was with the bed - quite firm. We met some wonderful fellow vacationers, enjoyed the pool and the spacious palapa for meals, Larry and Gail's game nights, and a cool place to spend out of the sun. Wireless was available in the unit, but was slow and sometimes unavailable once you did get a signal(usually had to go to the palapa). Snorkeling at Hol Chan was amazing. Overall a great holiday.
