Very convenient location!
A guest from El Cerrito, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2016 The place is very convenient to downtown Kona, and right across the street from a beach. There's a parking, swimming pool, and jacuzzi. We had a great family vacation there. We just hoped that they cleaned the place better. We found the counter top was dusty, the drawers were sandy, and spider webs at the corners of rooms.
Reviewed by: Laura & Mike G. recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in May, 2016 Condo was very nice, very roomy. Great location, close to town, but not too close. Pool area and fauna were beautiful. View was spectacular. I understand a few trees had to be removed right across the street, so the view was opened up even more. We saw a couple wide boars out in the back.
Gene C. from Sequim, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 49 days in February, 2016 The condo was clean. Large, furnishing were fine. Large lanai. A little noises from Alii Dr. Pool was nice .Our only complaint was the sheets on the MBR bed. They didn't fit and each morning they ended up in the middle of the bed. But not a big deal. Over all quite happy.
A guest from Denair, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2015 This location has very good views, the rental company was easy to deal with and they were accommodating and friendly. The rental unit itself is dated, in poor-fair condition, could be much cleaner and the amenities, cooking utensils, bed linens, appliances were dated and belonged in a 1.5 star local. Rec hall had a terrible smell. We were there during the holidays so rents were high - paid almost $300/night - and for that - thought the quality should have been at least 3-4 star. We made the most of it had our family there and had a great time in Kona.
Steve R. from Lakewood, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in November, 2015 Our second visit. Great location to begin the day. Ocean across the street, 2 miles to town. you don 't have to leave the condo for Sunday church, outdoor services across the street. The landscaping, BBQ area and pool are great. The complex is well maintained, clean and the neighbors are very friendly. It may be time to upgrade the condos appliances, however, everything does work. Cindy, in the rental office, is great to work with. Jacks for diving and snorkeling. Lugos, fishhopper and Kona Brewery for great food. Costco, yes Costco, has fantastic sushi to take back to the condo to eat on the lanai. We will be back again! T
John C. from Tyler, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2015 A/C did not work when we first arrived but the Mgr. got a service tech out that same day. Other than that, it was excellent, I've stayed there four other times, great location and a good place.
A guest from Carlsbad, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 The location was as promised, directly across from the ocean. The accommodations were satisfactory although the '70s style might not appeal to all. The plumbing needs work. Both bathroom sinks had leaks as did the toilet tank in the master. The toilet tank was solved by removing the lid and replacing it without proper fitting. The rental company felt this could be fixed later. The air conditioning worked but was noisy sounding like it only had a short time to go. The temperatures were hot, high 80's and low 90's with high humidity. But, that being said the vacation was wonderful. Da Poke Shack was great! Access to Kailua-Kona was simple and only 2 miles away.
Patricia B. from waimanalo, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in June, 2015 Lovey view from the lanai. Comfortable stay for six people. Only drawbacks were no mixing bowls and awful wallpaper. Otherwise a great place to stay just outside of Kona and nearly across the street from Banyans surf spot.
Janet E. from Vancouver, BC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 17 days in October, 2014 I was very disappointed with instructions! They were non-existent. I am 81, the door was incredibly difficult to open with the lock box on. We never could get the key to work so we could go into the common recreation area. It cost me a hundred dollars to find out how to make the wifi work....I could not find the box...how was I to know it was hidden in the bottom of a gorgeous cabinet and I only had part of the code. The other thing that needs attention is the little ants in the kitchen, especially on the counter...thiis is just lack of attention by the company renting out the place. I lived in Kona for a year so I know there is no need for this. However, all in all it was a great place everything that was needed was certainly available. The beds and furnishings were was the view. I would only recommend this property if the kitchen area was properly cleaned. This, I believe is the fault of the rental agency, as cleaning staff is not responsible for fumigating.
A guest from Chelsea Heights, Victoria recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2013 This property was ideal for our needs during the IM week, ideally located along Ali'i Drive and had everything we could possibly desire. Great job, Cindy!
Anick L. from SalaberryDE Valleyfield, QB recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in August, 2013 My family enjoyed our stay at the Holualoa Bay Villa because it felt like home and had everything we needed and more!
Claudia S. from El Paso, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 30 days in June, 2013 My family and I ended up staying at Holualoa Bay Villas because of an unexpected change on my accommodations that were under no ones control. When Cindy Krog told me that I would love this property, I was not sure. Well, it was a great Blessing. My family and I really felt at home and our one month stay there was peaceful and very welcoming. I will not visit any other website to find my needed accommodations to Hawaii again. I am sticking to Kona Rentals. I really loved the professionalism that Cindy Krog had and how sweet and welcoming she was to meeting my needs. I highly recommend Kona Rentals, West Hawaii Properties, because you can really trust their services. On my stay at Kona, I met other tourists who dealt with other websites and found themselves in a dilemma when it came to getting into their properties. After seeing that twice, I felt Blessed that I had found such a wonderful honest company who took care of my vacation needs and who are right on when describing their properties that they rent out.My family and I had a blast and our stay at Holualoa Bay Villas was awesome!!!!I would definitely stay again at Holualoa Bay Villas because it is really a hidden treasure. I would also go through Kona Rentals, West Hawaii Property, again to meet my
Bill R. from Kelowna, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in February, 2013 Unit needs some upgrades....building under going upgrades in common areas During our stay ....noise dust and so on
Gennie R. from Mineral, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2013 We had never been this far south on Alii but were happy with the condo. It had the most scenic view of the ocean from the balcony we had ever seen. The activities at the Little Brown Church on Sunday made the week complete. Kevin, at the condo was very helpful and the staff at the rental office were more than helpful. We are planning on sharing the name of the rental office with all the retired people that we know in the area.
Mike W. from Kapaa, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2013 Loved the location and the condo was clean and quiet. Check in and out was easy and fast. Several issues with condition however, the refrigerator handle was broke and the sliding door in the bedroom would not lock and several lights were burnt out. The rug in the living room started out white background but is now a very dirty tan. Nice furniture and layout of condo is good. We did enjoy our stay but the condo needs updating and some basic maintenance.
A guest from Sequim, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 12 days in January, 2013 And that's all it has going for it. To smell cigarettes every day and have to close up the condo doors and windows is unacceptable. It's a non-smoking complex but no one can police the policy. The maintenance person was hugely intrusive, and one of the smokers. The condo was run down and outdated. Fixtures were broken or didn't work properly. I would never stay in this complex again - not if it was free.
A guest from Parksville, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2013 Condo was comfortable for 6 people. Kids enjoyed the pool. There were no tea towels or dish cloths supplied in kitchen. Other than that we had everything we needed.
Michele H. from Hattiesburg, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in July, 2012 We enjoyed being away from downtown, but close enough to get there easily by car. Having easy access to the beaches along Ali'i Dr. was great. The apartment itself served its purpose well. We comfortably slept 5 adults. Furniture was functional, though decor and furniture not to our taste, it was fine. Glad for the a/c when the days were humid. Only real complaint was several loud Sunday services, starting quite early, at the church across the street. However, we enjoyed the sight and sound of the ocean across the street.
A guest from Keaau, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 liked the privacy. not very many people. barbeque area very nice. pool not crowded. condo nice layout. however, kitchen sink faucet needs to be fixed, and you need to change batteries in tv remoted, as they did not work. we would definitely stay here again.
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2011 Breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean, dinner on the patio watching the sunset, and even celebrating Christmas Eve across the street, this was a great location to be. Condo was clean and furnished. Bldg mgr, Kevin, was helpful and very pleasant. Cindy was great in providing info to places to go. Almost all 5 stars (took 1 star out for no wifi since brochure said wireless internet -- wired only)
Property Manager Response: Response from West Hawaii Property Services Inc We do apologize for the internet. We will have it looked into right away. It is set up for wireless so we must be having some issues with the connection. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.Mahalo
A guest from Tacoma, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in December, 2011 each year we are comming here and enjoying a part of is a short distance to the magic white beach ,the snorkling beach, farmers market and downtown. Over the years Alii Dr is getting a little to noisey .However we still enjoy staying in this wunderful condo.
Steve R. from Lakewood, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in November, 2011 Great accommodations! Site manager, Kevin, was very friendly and helpful with local attractions. Street noise a little distracting.
A guest from Phoenix, Arizona recommends this property. Stayed for 12 days in October, 2011 We stayed at this property last spring in another unit and were pleased to be back. Several days into the stay we had a leak from a failed air conditioner. Cindy, our guardian angel at West Hawaii for many years, moved us into 203 that same afternoon. We liked it more than the first unit. Thanks, Cindy!
A guest from Ontario, does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2011 It seemed that the place hadn't been lived in for a long time. It had a musty smell about it. Also, the air conditioning wasn't working. we were notified about a week before we left but we had already booked it by then. and this was a determining factor in booking it. We were offered a one bedroom in another facility but we had booked a 2 bedroom. They did give us a small refund for this inconvenience. But it was a big difference to adjust to. Overall it was an older building with older facilities. Would not stay here again.
