Shaun C. from Warman, SK recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in December, 2015 The property was exactly as advertised. It was the first time we have rented a house on a holiday and we will definitely be doing it again. Great house in a great location. Hanalei Beach is only minutes away and is absolutely gorgeous. Princville adventures is right down the road and offer ziplines, horseback, atvs. The pool was clean and the kids had a blast playing in the pool and the kid friendly beaches nearby. Anini beach was a perfect kid friendly beach. Can't say enough good things about this property and its location, we will definitely be back.
Pat I. from Monona, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in November, 2015 Had a wonderful experience at this property. It's beautiful, well maintained, well furnished, and in a quiet beautiful neighborhood. A quick car ride to Hanalei, Kilahuea, and just a few blocks from Princeville Center. The beds are super comfortable. Lots of little things that made the stay super, like beach toys, boogie boards, a surf board, bikes, etc. Loved the lap pool, although 7 of our 10 days were overcast and rainy, so the pool was a little chilly. The water is solar heat, so we made sure to juggle our hot water needs so that we always had hot water when needed. Nice selection of games, books, and CDs, as well as great satellite TV (we actually got to watch our Packers twice while on vacation!). The island is beautiful and so relaxing. A top five vacation for us.
Eric F. from Pacific Grove, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2015 Our vacation review of this house is satisfactory. This was our 11th trip to Kauai and we wanted to experience a house instead of our usual condo accommodations. The privacy of the house was great, no slamming doors and no communal BBQ?s. However, the downfall was? living in a neighborhood that has full time residents. Our neighborhood had barking dogs that we?re before the sun was. The furniture needs to be steamed cleaned, the bedroom pillows need to be replaced and pool equipment serviced. The house was surface clean, but would benefit from a deep cleaning. The living room furniture smelled of body odor and years of people coming from the beach and getting comfortable before showering. Our pillows on our bed were stained from use and smelled too. Fortunately, we found additional pillows in the closet that were in good enough condition. The pool was wonderful. Our daughter who is a competitive swimmer was able to play and work-out in the pool. The pump that runs the Polaris needs replacing. The barring?s in the pump are worn and several times the pump was frozen and needed to be nudged to get working. I left word with the person at the maintenance # but did not get a reply.Lastly, the roof leaks in the main bedroom. We had significant rainfall on our last night there, the rain came through the roof and landed on us in the bed @ 2am. We attempted to place a pot under the leak to catch the water, but the roof appears to be leaking in several different areas of the bedroom, so we did the best we could and mopped up the flooring in the morning. Again, we attempted to reach the person at the maintenance # but was only able to leave message at the voicemail. Overall, the house was well appointed and centrally located to the things we enjoy in Kauai. With the items above being addressed, we could strongly recommend the home for your vacation.
Debra S. from Gaithersburg, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 Big and well equipped kitchen, beautiful pool that we used a good bit. Lots of helpful beach amenities - snorkels, chairs, etc.
Aimee M. from Pipe Creek, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2015 The house was nearly exactly as described or pictured. Bedding was a little different that maybe I had imagined, and I don't recall it advising anywhere that there was NO A/C, but once we got all the windows open and ceiling fans going we didn't even notice. If I want to stay on this part of the island again, I would definitely stay here. The area is very nice. The "concierge" (house maid) service wasn't what I would expect, as far as assisting with tour info, etc.
A guest from San Jose, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2014 We were very disappointed in the home we rented at Princeville. The house was custom built with a lot of Koa wood features. This home was selected by the bride and groom because it has a large Jacuzzi in the master bedroom as well as for the location. The problem was you couldn't use the Jacuzzi because there was very little hot water. Showers that were taken in the adjacent bathroom had to be limited to a few minutes for the same reason. After a couple of minutes you got just cold water. We called customer service and they said a plumber would be out that morning to fix the problem. He arrived around 3PM, said he adjusted the water heater and left. There was no change in the hot water problem. This went on for the whole stay. Maintenance people came out, said the problem was fixed, no change. The bride and groom ended up staying at a hotel for part of their stay. There were several other maintenance issues. A hinge on a kitchen cabinet was broken so the door just hung off when opened. The frame support under the bed in the master bedroom was broken so it was gouging the wood floor and not supporting the bed. There is a notice that someone that is using the garage to park a car and 2 motorcycles and may enter the garage at any time unannounced to remove any of the vehicles. This is strange and unsafe in my opinion. A very nice property ruined by poor maintenance and use of the garage by other people while you are staying there. We won't be back.
Property Manager Response: Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals We are so sorry for the problems experienced with the hot water. The house has a solar hot water system, and during periods of extended cloud cover, it just does not generate enough heat to fill the big jacuzzi tub. Maintenance was correct that the water heater was working properly, and there was nothing he could do to correct the situation because it just needed more sunlight. We regret that the guest was not able to use the jacuzzi tub. The other repairs to cabinet hinge and bed have been made
A guest from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2013 We showed up and dialed in our key code. Entered the house and it was wonderful. The kitchen is large and it was easy for us to make our Christmas Dinner for the whole family. The location was good for us as other family was down the street about 4 miles. The neighborhood is quiet which is exactly what we wanted. It was a little cool to use the pool but it was very lovely to look at and relax next to. The beds were sooooo comfy. I like a pillow top luxury bed and thats what I got. I slept just like at home. If you want to hard firm bed, don't go here. I would certainly return and stay once again. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.
Doug L. from Sierra Vista, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2013 We had six people in our party and the house was perfect. Everything was in good working order and condition and having all the beach toys to use was awesome. We had a great time in Kauai and with all the activities we did everyday this was a great place to come home to to reenergize for the next day. Make sure you find the trail to the beach, it's a fun hike and the beach is beautiful and we saw big sea turtles from the shore. I would recommend this property to anyone.
Lisa B. from St Helens, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in August, 2013 Stayed for 10 nights in this gorgeous home. We typically stay on the east shore of Kauai, but spend so much time on the north shore we decided to rent a home there this time. The home is 2 minutes from a decent grocery store, 2 miles from Hanalei and great places to eat, and the north shore beaches are all very close 2 minutes to 20 minutes away depending on which beach you want to visit. The home is in a nice neighborhood and seemed very safe, and was very quiet. The house is kept very clean (windows need a good cleaning is about the only fault I can find.) Remember you are in the tropics and towels need to be washed more than once a week or they will get musty. A/c is not needed, the vented windows allow the trades to blow through nicely. We did use a box fan in the master for extra air flow. Each bedroom is unique. The master is beautiful with nice memory foam topper. The 2nd main-house bedroom was 2 twins during our stay (I would recommend white linens for this bed, as the dark ones were harder to freshen up without a good wash with hot water and bleach.) There are Japanese style screens for this rooms "doors." The outside cabana was a wonderful room too, nice bed, bathroom, and great outdoor shower (plenty of privacy.)The house does not have a bathtub. It has a giant Jacuzzi which is not easy to wash a small child in or for an elderly person to get in and out of. So keep that in mind. The pool was perfect, the self-cleaning robot did a great job. Backyard was very private. The yard had coconut, orange and an avocado tree. When we return to Kauai I would really consider staying here again. It was nice to be able to cook (or bbq) as we wanted, and do laundry as needed, and relax by the pool in jammies without worrying about other people :)Mahalo!
Maggie C. from Alameda, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2013 Thank you to the owner for sharing their lovely home with us. We truely enjoyed our stay. We had many fond memories by the pool. Thank you!
A guest from Haiku, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 What a lovely home, perfect for our three couples, we were here for State Canoe races in Hanalei, It was great to come home to the pool, jacuzzi, great kitchen and comfortable home. The neighborhood is lovely, a little close to our neighbors but not really an issue for us. WE had a great time and will be back to stay here again!
Keena L. from Baltimore, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 i really enjoyed my stay and I would definitely come back. The home was warm very easily accessible and glad i chose this home
A guest from Fremont, California does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2013 For such a beautiful home we were alarmed to see so many cockroaches. They were too big for the geckos to handle and they were spotted in the kitchen, garage and around the pool. While sitting by the pool we also saw a rat run from the cabana to the garage. The TV in the living room is also old and needs to be upgraded. The Jacuzzi tub would be nice if the water heater could keep up, but sadly the water runs cold by the time the tub is half full.
Jane B. from Grand Island, NE recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2012 Our stay at Hale Emmalani was GREAT is every aspect! The house was very comfortable and clean; the pool was nice (water temp a little cool!); neighborhood was quiet; used the bikes for riding around Princeville was fun. The location was great as we drove all around the northern and eastern part of Kuaui. We were there with another couple and we actually used the "pool house" as we called it. It was very comfortable. If we go back to Kuaui - we would stay at Hale Emmalani again! Thank you for sharing your property!
A guest from Belle River, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2011 Wre had a pleasant 6 day stay at Hale Emmalani in Princeville. The home was everythng we thought it would be in a very quiet neighbourhood. The grocery store was no more than a 5 minute drive or 10 minute walk from the house. we would certainl;y recommend this villa for families travelling with another couple or teeens(we had our teen girls). We hope to make it back soon and would have no problem staying at Hale Emmalani again.
A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2010 Located in a somewhat suburban development Hale Emmalani was perfect for our family. Great pool is the backyard, tons of room with a great kitchen.
