The room was clean, comfy bed, we liked the bunk beds and the tvs with them. It was nice having the beach toys already there. Overall, we had a nice stay. Our place did have a musky smell, we were woken up a lot which can I'll chop up to spring breakers and unfortunately the dishwasher latch So no dishwasher. However, we'd possibly consider staying here again.

The TV's in the BUNK BEDS are a huge bonus to this 315 condo, these are not included in every condo the owner must add them, so thank you for the positive feedback on those, we'll relay the message. The view at Pelican Isle is truly breathtaking. There's nothing like the Gulf of Mexico in Fort Walton Beach on Okaloosa Island!! We look forward to having you again to Pelican Isle.

Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 have stayed many units at pelican isle since it was built in 2003. this particular unit was the worst I have been in. the pictures do not do justice. furniture on balcony was old,torn and hurt your back after 5 min. the kitchen utensils were lacking, old, cheap and wore out. there were settings for only four and this was a hodgpodge and mix of stuff. the tile floors turned everyones feet black if you were barefooted. they looked clean but something was going on. the headboard in the bedroom is so flimsy we had to put a pillow between it and the wall to keep it from banging every time you moved. the staff at brookes and shorey were great and this review should not reflect on them or pelican isle resort. I am very familiar with this place but will not stay in this unit again. sorry but this is a honest review from a returning guest of many years.

I agree with you, especially the staff on-site at Pelican Isle. With that said, of all the issues with the condo you mention the headboard-did you mention it to the front desk ever? We really ask guests to call us on maintenance concerns so we can address and fix them as they appear. As for the silverware etc. I'm really sorry you found this condo to be inadequate. Our busy season is still here this year, these condos stay booked, and things tend to disappear from them, I would hope mostly by accident. Either way, we'll see to all of those and get them straightened out. This is the first time any of this has been brought to our attention, so thank you for that. Again, I'm sorry this condo did not live up to your standards. Please come stay with us again at the Pelican Isle- where you cannot beat the view and the beach doesn't get any more beautiful!

Sheets were clean, dishes clean in cupboards, and bathrooms were clean. But the floors were not only sandy, they were dirty! I understand I'm at a beach and there will be sand but I don't think the unit was vacuumed or even swept before we came. Baseboards were grimy and the floor by all baseboards and inside of the closet had sand, grime and dust. For a place that costs over $300/night AND requires a cleaning fee no less, I expect it to be spotless! The location and beach were great.

View of the ocean was great, kids got a lot of use out of pool and ocean. We made use of kayak rentals and free bbq area (bring your own charcoal). The only negative we can give is that the dishwasher was not working. Other than that everything was great.There is a Tom Thumb less than a mile away, but if you want to do real shopping you need to go into town which is about 3 or 4 miles. This does make the location nice and quiet, but you can't walk somewhere for a coffee.

It is what is shown and described. The gulf view from this 3rd floor condo was magnificent! We were only disappointed by the kitchen wares and the furnitures mainly in the living/dining room. The kitchen wares were very old and not in great condition. And the furnitures were not at all comfortable. The condo is very clean and neat.

Stayed for 7 days in October, 2014 this property is mainly suitable for a couple-it is one bedroom with two bunk beds in the hallway that might work for younger children-the furniture was not comfortable-the balcony chairs need new cushions-there are no towel bars in the bathrooms-there are no lights by the outside doorway so it is impossible to see the keypad for the code at night without a flashlight on your phone-this property was ok for off season but doubt I would pay the summer prices for it-this unit needs some updating-the location is good at the end of the island-not the fault of the condo but beware that fall break is in October for many states which we weren't aware of so the complex was quite crowded with children which was not what we were looking for in October for an adult vacation-I think the condo complex should make people aware of that-I would not travel to this area again in October

Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 loved being close to the ocean, I sat out on the balcony a lot listening to the waves. unfortunately we had to check out early and return home as my dad had a stroke. it is over the pool area and at times it was a little noisey but not enough to discourage anyone from staying. it had a great view. hope to return next year. we didn't venture out in ocean much as we were under red flag the entire time there. only drawback might be not having any restaurants close by to walk to but we fixed meals in room or ordered out pizza a couple times.

Great amenities like chair and umbrella service, beach front, free movie rentals, free wifi. If you are looking to have up to 6 people in one condo for a good price, this is a good option.However, you are getting a "bargain". The couch was dampish, ripped, pullout was highly uncomfortable and just needs to be replaced. The floor was so dirty it turned our feet BLACK within minutes. My husband pulled the rug outside to shake it out and I'm pretty sure it was the first time it'd been done in months, maybe longer. To be fair, they came up and cleaned our floors after we complained and were very nice to book with, communicate with, and deal with overall. But during our stay, the staff wasn't super knowledgeable about the area or able to answer many of our questions about what to do or where to go when the beach was unswimmable due to a rip tide that lasted for 5 of our 7 day stay :( Overall, I would still recommend for those who want Destin for a deal. Worth the money.

My only complaint would be the DVD on top bunk wouldn't work, which made bedtime difficult for toddlers who are used to watching a movie. Also the condo came with a DVD card for fee rentals, but no one told us the DVD machine was broken. That would have been nice to know so we could have packed a few. That's not the owners' fault though. The condo itself is cute and tasteful and we had everything we needed! Its iver rhebpool area so yiu can see the poil/hot tub and the beautiful beach. Perfect for us and our 2 toddlers!

We did stay in a different unit this time and I have to say that the furniture is needing to be cleaned or replaced. Also, the ice maker in the unit did not work. We reported this and were told a part would be ordered. I really don't think its not working was a surprise because there were several ice trays conveniently in the unit for use. All worked out fine. The walkway to the beach had been replaced since last year and had far too many steps for my handicapped daughter, but access is available at the other end of the units. None of these small things would keep me from staying here again. The water is beautiful and dolphins swim by daily. It is a quiet setting but still convenient to all kinds of activities. Free beach chairs and other amenities are great!

The armchair has worn out fabric on the arms & needs to be cleaned badly. The kitchen dining room chairs are literally falling apart & the seat cushions are badly stained. Bed mattress is not the most comfortable...probably could be replaced. There is a shortage of some silverware. There are no sharp knives....The staff was very friendly & helpful. Suggestion....the building should have some kind of security in the evenings beginning March 1st. The spring breakers seem to abuse the pool & hot tub area late into the evening not following any of the pool/hot tub rules!.............Thank You

Stayed for 17 days in January, 2012 Have stayed in this building (Pelican Isle)for several years & this was the first year in this particular unit(#315). We like the building & area very much..enough to keep coming back! Usually spend 8 weeks or more. Unit could use some much needed updating. Upon arrival, 2 door shelves were broken off & missing in refridgerator (which were replaced!) Unit is in need of a fresh paint job especially in the hall way, entrance door & bunk area (foot prints on ceiling above bunks) Couch should be replaced having throw cushions being ripped with stuffing coming out of them. Kitchen table chairs are flimsy & literally falling apart. King bed slides all over bedroom floor and bedroom could use more dresser space. (One person has to basically live out of a suitcase) Both ceiling fans produce a whistling sound when turned on. Music disc/radio is full of sand. Silverware set has pieces missing but there are an over abundance of steak knives. Storage box on floor in shower bathroom has a broken lid on it.....Could be a nice unit if some updating was done.......Thank You!

I've stayed in many condos but never in one where there are no paper towels, no dish soap, no Kleenex, and no shampoo. Come on guys, do you really want people to have to buy paper towels EVERY time and then you just take the 80% unused portion home. It leaves a very bad taste in someone's mouth and makes you penny wise and pound foolish.

Very quiet, close to long stretch of empty beach, but also very close to many activities and restaurants.

Staff was very pleasant and knowlegable about the area.

My bedspread was dirty however once I brought it to their attention, the property management had it dry cleaned right away. I would definitely stay at the Pelican Isle again. I felt like I was at home.

Mattress is old, and bad...and one cushion has a zipper gone bad.2. The ladder leading to the top bunk will not stay locked. My baby girl ALMOST HURT HERSELF!3. and last, sticky lock to outside balcony.EVERYTHING ELSE WAS PERFECT! THANKS!!!

We spent one night and most of one day with out it. The bed frame seemed to be wobbly and the bedspread dated. But other than that everything else was GREAT.

Overall, much of this unit needs refurnishing. Pool lighting in grill and pool area We love the Pelican Isle but would not stay in Unit #315 again.

However, it was not too bad to sleep in since we were exhausted each evening by the time we went to sleep. A better bed would be a great improvement to this place.

It was the middle of January and serveral places were not open, which we expected but even so we didn't see many places that we would be able take our 3 year old to eat. Other wise we had a wounderful trip.

The beach access with chairs and umbrellas was great. The only thing I was not prepared for was that there was no dishwashing soap for the sink or diswasher and no soap for the washing machine. A couple of one time use type of packets would have been nice. But other than that very small issue we had a blast!! We'll be back!

Stayed for 7 days in October, 2008 The only negative I would have is that I requested another night prior to leaving town and the rep stated that the unit was not available. We wanted to check in on Thurs instead of Fri. So when we arrived in Ft Walton, we had to stay at the fairway inn (Dump) we got up early on Fri am not expecting to get into the unit because it was occupied on Thurs. Well suprise suprise, the unit was empty and we went straight on in around 9 am. Don't think the cleaning service would have had time to clean up the unit and get back with Brooks in order for us to get in that early. Otherwise the unit was gorgeous, the beach was awesome and the ammenities were good.

I have checked our records and they truly show that the unit was occupied the night before. Honestly, it would not make sense for our business to not want to rent the condo. I am very glad that Brooks and Shorey Resorts made an effort to accommodate customers who came early. Our housekeeping made an effort to have the unit available as soon as possible since we knew our guests were in town - that is how Brooks and Shorey strives to accommodate customers. I recomend it to anyone that wants to have a vacation that is care free. We did not have to worry about anything, except where we were going to eat that night.
