We enjoyed a 2 week stay in this beautiful house. The location is perfect. We were only a 5 minute walk to Mallory Square and a 10-15 min walk to other favorite restaurants.
We walked and biked everywhere. Bikes can be rented a few blocks away on Eaton St. The pool area is small, but never crowded. The area is quiet--except for roosters in the morning -which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Depending on the direction of the wind we did hear some noise from the bar a couple blocks away. It was minimal and did not interfere with our sleep.
Cocktails on the deck was our favorite time of day.
A couple of nights we decided to stay in and cook. There is a small market within walking distance, fish market on Eaton St and The Old Town Bakery. Stops at these stores were easy and close to home; especially on bikes.
The house has many beautiful paintings that made us feel as though we were living in a wonderful gallery.
Our neighbors were delightful and we can't wait to stay here again next year.

This was our first time to Key West and we wanted to rent a home-away-from-home with all the conveniences since we had little kids with us. We also wanted to walk everywhere. The Truman annex and artist Garden couldn't have been better. We were close to beach, pool, restaurants, convenience stores and shops. We did so much needed walking to chase away the winter blues in paradise. Everything functioned well in the house except for one drainage problem in upstairs bathroom sink - minor. We had lovely time in laid back Key West and will return again.

When my wife's not happy; I'm not happy.

So the really good thing was to hear her say how charming she thought the artist Garden was.

Now that our 3 children are "adults", this was perfect for the 5 of us. My favorite aspect was the back patio. The grill came in handy a few times too.

We were glad it was so close to downtown but it was nice to be able to come back to the Garden to relax and soak in the artistry.

I guess the schedule for garbage/recycling changed so we were unable to dispose of the trash. Sorry about that. The one upstairs bathroom was slow draining at first.I plunged it and it seemed better but you might want to check it.

All and all a great experience. The internet, kitchen, and the king bed was awesome.

Family reunite vacation with 28 yo daughter just out of law school and long lost traveling 25 yo son from indo and australia. Nice place, but think could do better next time. no outdoor spot to enjoy beautiful surroundings when raining i.e. grilling. need covered or screen porch. lots of mosquitoes so couldn't enjoy morning coffee outside. place beautifully decorated, however. Overall, for the price of 3200 per week, think should include at least 4 bikes and four beach chairs for guest use. We bought some beach chairs and some tubes for Ft. Zachary Beach, and were gonna leave them there for future guests, but, we never got to use them because of weather, so returned all to walgreen's sorry:)) still had the tags on them brand new! all in all, think owners have wonderful taste, and acquire rental folks that take care of their special spot. A few issues with rental company. Arrived at 3:45, 15 minutes before check in time. would not give keys any earlier. we were in car, pouring down rain, and tired. having left home from NC, driven from Miami. Where we are from, tourist location, Kitty Hawk, NC, someone would have let us in to be hospitable. We weren't feeling any hospitality on the part of the management company. Saturday is obviously big check in day. Rental office should be open this day? Just food for thought. Sorry if too negative. Just did not meet my expectations for a memorable probably final family vacation. Think weather to blame:(

Property Manager Response:
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. The week between Christmas and New Year's is our busiest of the year. The turnaround on January 4th took every minute to be able to prepare our homes for arriving guests. Our office closes at 2pm on Saturday; a staff member then returns to the office to put out keys for the 4pm arrivals. We feel the same as you about the rain on that day which is a rare occurrence on our island.

We rented the artist garden for New Years expensive week to be in Key West. The home was perfect and helped make our vacation a wonderful family experience. The neighborhood is a beautiful gated community, and is within easy walking distance to Duval and Mallory Square. The house is beautifully decorated & has a nice size deck which is surrounded by a great garden. We also enjoyed the shared pool which is very close to the house, and was considerably quiet even during such a busy holiday week. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the house was equipped - from a salad spinner in the kitchen, to beach chairs, even a drying rack for laundry. I loved that we had such a beautiful place to stay, yet were within walking distance to Duval and all the main attractions in Key West.

This pretty home was filled abundantly with lovely artwork obviously painted by the owner. It was a treat to be in Truman annex---the nicest part of Key West surrounded by beautiful homes and lush foliage. We were just a stone's throw from the Truman "Little White House," parks and beaches. We walked to most places though we did not find a good grocery store within walking distance and had to drive to Publix for most of our supplies.

Best part of this condo was the living room area and the sweet deck where we congregated each morning until the mosquitos got us. Kitchen was nice but very small and could hold only one person at a time. Upstairs hall bath didn't drain well and the internet connection kept failing forcing us to reboot the modem several times. That was a pain, but in general artist Garden was a lovely respite for four friends who travel the world together.

May need new a/C that is stronger as it was warm upstairs and took long to cool down. Would stay here again, lovely place.

We stayed at the artist's Garden for one week. There were 4 adults and an 11 month old. The house is gorgeous, lots of interesting art. Some of it we had to move out of reach of our 11 month old, but that was easy enough. The only downside to this house is that it's located across the street from the post office. It wouldn't be bad except the bedroom windows face the post office. Some mornings the postal trucks banged around starting at 4:52 am! I finally had to put on a white noise app every night to drown them and the roosters out. (The roosters is a Key West issue, not this houses's ;-) ) .. It was in a great location, easy to access all the restaurants, Duval Street and Mallory square. The pool is very close and well maintained. We definitely would consider staying here again, but if a different house in Truman annex were available not close to the post office, we'd probably choose that first. We would definitely go through at Home in Key West, though! They were wonderful and helpful. They also recommended using The Hip Tourist for renting baby equipment and it was perfect!!!

Our family vacation was great with this comfortable spot to come back to! The artist Garden is relaxing with the private patio, open space on first floor decorated with colorful art. Privacy with bedrooms on opposite ends of second floor. Would've preferred twin beds over daybeds for adult daughters, but it worked out. Both sofas are sleeper sofas. Plenty of bathrooms. Kitchen great too. The pool is close by and parking for one car also. Although we walked to many spots near Mallory Square, Duval St., Hemingway House, Little White House, and restaurants. Suggest using trolley, bikes, or car for beaches all close by, but longer walks. We used the car to go to the beach, Publix, and kayaking with Lazy Dog off Hurricane Hole Marina. Favorite places to eat were Southernmost Rest., Conch Republic Seafood Rest. & Bar, Kelly's, and don't miss Blue Heaven! Cute craft/wine shop at Wine Cottage near Tropic Cinema. Thanks to at Home In Key West personnel for your kind help over the phone and ease of our late check-in and early checkout! And to the owner for opening up such a perfect place for others to enjoy! The house is well equipped and has everything you need. The main bedroom has a great comfy king bed and the second room with twins is just a nice. The sofa beds in the lounge are not the most comfortable but that would be our only negative.
The complex pool is just outside the door and although small there were plenty of loungers and never seemed too busy.

The unit is walking distance to old town. This made it very convient to get around. I noticed on last day there were two bicycles on side of house. Don't know if they were there for our use or not. No mention of them. The community pool closes way to early. They lock the gates and you cannot use pool after sun goes down. Overall enjoyed our stay. If your main concern is beaches Key West is not the place to go. However if you want water activity it has everything you could same for at a price.

I traveled here with my husband and two daughters - 5 & 9 years old.
The house is lovely, just enough space and all the amenities you might need. The home is nicely updated with pretty furniture (the white couches made me a bit nervous, tho) and modern kitchen. A private deck & garden are a nice space to relax. The garden would be heaven with a hammock. (hint, hint) Beds were reasonably comfortable and linens were all provided. The location was convenient to walk to most places and parking was easy. The pool was very close, however, a bit small if there were many other people there enjoying it too...Another reviewer commented on the noise level of the postal trucks... I dismissed that review because I thought maybe they partied a bit on Duval and wanted to sleep in and since i've got a couple kids, I knew I would be getting up relatively early.. well.. Here's a different take. Yes, the house is located near the post office, and a bank.. and also it must be near some bars. So, it was noisy, not only in the morning, but at night also- Around 10 pm or so, you would hear the band playing from a nearby bar and people enjoying themselves at said bar. This would persist for a while (most nights). In the morning, the post office parking lot has a few rooster residents and they start crowing before the sun comes up and doesn't quit until the night. Lastly, there is a lot of art and portraits in the house. A lot> of naked art, and even a bit "racy" art. My daughters weren't really comfortable with the extent of the portraits and thank god they didn't ask one piece in particular that I feel would be better suited in Hugh Heffner's house and not a family vacation home. I wish that the rental agency would have told me that there was an extensive amount of naked art in the home prior to my selecting this property... But, all in all, we had a great vacation and I would recommend this home to my friends, so long as they knew what to expect..

Property Manager Response:
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit for the most part. It is a tough balance to accommodate guests who want to stay within city limits of Old Town Key West, where everything is in walking distance, but don't want to hear the city noises.

Specifically (Gale) worked with a jeweler in Philadelphia to make sure the late arrival of an engagement ring got into our hands prior to our son's arrival. The service we received from at Home went up and beyond what anyone would expect and we will be using them for our future needs. As for the house it was exactly as what was portrayed on the web site. It was bright and airy, clean, and gave us the Key West laid back feeling. It had all the household items we needed. The location was great. Since it was located in the Truman annex we were close to all the hot spots (Sloppy Joe's, Wharf area etc.) plus it also had the quiet and privacy of a gated community. the house was very nice, lots of artwork and large deck area. The main issue we had was the fact that it was very noisy. The house is situated right across from the post office and there was traffic going in and out of the post office at all hours of the day and night. In addition the postal trucks would arrive around 6:00am. On tuesdays the trash trucks would be there very early making a ton of noise. All this in addition to the many roosters in the area made for very noisy mornings.

One other thing, there was a lot of the owners personal items left in the closets of the house and it made it difficult to store our things, especially in the second bedroom, I had to move a lot of items from the closet to under the bed.

The home itself was beautiful and met our needs nicely. Location is very convenient, close enough to walk or bike to all the "action", yet peaceful enough for down time.

The layout was perfect when we had friends in for refreshments and to hear some music. We did, however, have a couple of issues during the week we were there. Several light bulbs, including the main ceiling bulb in the main bathroom, were burned out when we arrived. Not wanting to pull out a ladder and drag it upstairs, we put in a call to the management company. Also reported an extremely sluggish tub drain in the master bath. The agent said someone would be there to check things out within a day. Two days later, after no one had come by, we called again and were told the original work order had not been entered. We were assured that someone would be there asap.

The next day, our rental agent (not affiliated with the management company) stopped by and replaced the bulbs for us. When we left several days later, we still had not seen anyone from maintenance and the drain was slower than ever. We also had a problem with the oven. There were no directions and we had a problem actually turning it on/off... the control did not seem to work properly.

Strictly because of the management company, we will probably not be staying in this particular unit again.
