Grand Slam Tennis Information

Spend a Week or Two in a Comfortable Vacation Rental at a Grand Slam Tennis Tournament

How does two weeks in Paris watching tennis sound? Or two weeks in London or New York to catch as many matches as you want? Like a dream for a tennis fan--that's what it sounds like. Vacation rentals are the perfect accommodation for Grand Slam Tennis Tournaments, whether you stay the whole two weeks or just hop in for a week or so. You can settle into your home away from home, see the sights and enjoy as much tennis as you want.

Many tennis fans have the goal of attending all four Grand Slam events: Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. That can make for a journey filled with great tennis and fantastic vacation memories. Of course, if you can follow the famed series from the start of the year -- the Australian Open in January is the first every year -- then continue on to the remaining three, you might be lucky enough to see one person win all four events. And that would truly be a stroke of luck, since Steffi Graf is the only person to have won all four events in a single year in the past few decades. She did it in 1988. Others to accomplish the feat are Don Budge in 1938, Maureen Connolly Brinker in 1953, Rod Laver in 1962 and 1968 (which is why many remember him as the greatest ever), and Margaret Court in 1970. Martina Navratilova came oh so close in 1984 and 9184, winning six in a row over that two year span, but not all four in one year. Others to win six in a row are Don Budge (1937 through 1938), Margaret Court (1969 through 1971), Steffi Graf (1993 through 1994) and Serena Williams (2002 - 2003).

The Grand Slam Tournaments make history, and you'll cherish the memory of being a part of any one of these prestigious sporting events. Since they're held in fantastic locations, it simply makes sense to settle into a vacation rental, apartment or condo for the duration or as long as you can. Here are the dates for the 2013 events.

These locations will require significant travel for many people. Australia, for example, is a 24 hour plane ride for people in North America. The reverse is true for people traveling from Australia to the United States or Europe. Needless to say, once you get there, you may want to stay awhile. Here are four ATP tennis events immediately before the Grand Slam Tournaments in each of the four host nations. The ATP is the Grand Slam governing authority.

ATP Apia International
