The cottage is located on a quiet side street right in the village of Westport in a quiet bay near Westport Harbour . There is abundant bird life, great fishing and wonderful views of Foley Mountain Conservation Area and the Upper Rideau Lake. Windows extend all the way across the back of the cottage and you can watch or take part in the fishing or boating activity of the lake which is part of the Rideau Canal. (There is a small dock and a canoe to use or bring your own boat and put it in the boathouse). There is an excellent park right in town on Sand Lake for swimming and a beach in Foley Mountain Conservation Area which you can canoe or drive to across the harbour from the cottage.The cottage has two bedrooms. The master has a queen size bed with an expansive lake view. The second bedroom has a double bed. The beds are new and extremely comfortable (Kingsdown). In the living room, there is a pull out couch (double) and in the TV/wood stove room there is a couch which can be converted to a single bed. This room is separated with French Doors from the living room.
The cottage is on town water, has a washer and dryer, new fridge, new dishwasher and BBQ and a deck that extends right across the back of the cottage facing the lake and a large yard facing the lake.
There is a lot happening in Westport each summer - the Antique Show in June and Art Show and music festival in August and other music and concerts throughout the summer. We are within walking distance to the restaurants, coffee and ice cream shops and great shopping.
