Distances There is a small mini-market 600m from the house and a super market 15km (Lappa village) from the house where you can find everything you need. As for taverns, Greece is full of them wherever you go! The main beach is so vast (14km) that one can stay close to the fuss which facilitates umbrellas, bars, water sports and other activities or relax miles away from civilisation. The whole area is very safe and the neighbours very friendly. No crimes have been reported around the area. This is a quiet and safe area for kids and family. Airport of Araxos is 5 km away. Charter flights directly from all major European Cities. The nearest city is Patra (50km, 45’drive population more than 0.5 million) which the third important town of Greece, a commercial town as well as a cultural centre with a very vibrant night life. With hundreds of different styles of Greek Taverns, Bars, and Night clubs. Its robust port connects to the Ionian Islands and Italy by ferry-boats. Olympia, the well known ancient area where the first Olympic Games took place on the 7th century BC is 80 km and about 1hour drive. Olympia is one of the most beautiful and intriguing places of ancient Greece well worth visiting. A whole day is hardly enough for both the Museum that exhibits the items found around area and the archaeological place itself. Another interesting place would be Killini (30’drive) which is a rather big town with a magnificent medieval castle, a rather busy port where the fisherman unload their fresh fish in the morning. The port is also connecting the south Ionian Islands. If you are interested in archaeology, Peloponnesus is full of interesting places from all historical periods (from ancient Greece, to the Byzantium times, the Venetian occupation, and the Ottoman occupation) and they are all situated either by the sea or are surrounded by nature!!!
