Located within the SW Alentejano/Costa Vicentina Nature Reserve, in area protected countryside, the Quinta do Monte is a 22 hectare estate perched atop an important Portuguese river, the Mira. The House, surrounded by a forest of cork oaks and pine trees, was completed in 1993.
In building of the house, the traditional architecture of the region was taken into account, while making the most of its setting with wide windows overlooking the magnificent view of the river. The house can quite comfortably accommodate 14 people and is part of other buildings, either farm outbuildings or part of the infrastructure of the 20m x 4m swimming pool, built on a terrace looking down onto the river. There are even a small lake and a pontoon on the river where you can take a dip and fish.
The woods surrounding the house consist mostly of cork-oaks, pine and olive trees and are criss-crossed by a number of paths, enabling guests to enjoy a peaceful stroll in a landscape of rare natural beauty.
