Notes:
What Vacationer hasn't imagined a sojurn in the Greek Isles with their brilliant colors, ocean breezes and bright sunlight? Pots of beautifully colored flowers to please the eyes and warm air to soothe the skin and soul. Add the aroma of broiling seafood, cries of gulls and sounds of exotic music and your spirited away. Now imagine that you can experience all of that without leaving America! You can..simply by staying at our Vacation Rental Cottage in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Situated near the Gulf Of Mexico, along the shores of the Anclote River, our town is truely unique in America. The Greek Village area hosts numerous Greek restaurants, tavernas and shops. Choose one of them to savor traditional Greek dinners while watching the many kinds of boats cruising along the river. Tarpon is a working seaport with drydocks, real sailors and picturesque fishing boats with rust , shouting crews and flocks of gulls following in their wakes. Often you will see piles of freshly harvested sponges piled upon the dock or strung along the rigging of the brightly painted boats. Others fish for crab or shrimp or venture well offshore in search of other kinds of fish. Residents are friendly and it is common to hear people laughing and conversing in Greek...some gently fingering worry beads while they gossip and greet. After lunch or dinner venture into one of the cafes to sample Greek pastries and fresh brewed coffee. Rent your own boat to cruise the river and mangrove islands..the quiet shoals where snapper, trout, cobia, tarpon, mullet and other fish feed and flourish. Watch heron, storks, ibis, cormorants, osprey and even Bald Eagles flying above the wide water. Laugh as the pelicans fight over the fish scraps thrown by the boat's crews after a days fishing. Tarpon Springs is a short drive from several area parks and beaches...all free and yours to explore and play on. Our Tarpon Springs Cottage is perfect for families too. We have a VIDEO TAPE/DVD Library with titles the kids will enjoy. We also have board games and puzzles to occupy the kids. Upon arrival each of the younger children will also find a zip lock bag with crayons and coloring book to keep. The bags are also great for holding the shells they will find. Nearby Spring Bayou is a wonderful place to watch fish and birds. Even Manatee can be viewed there during colder weather. Craig Park, which fronts onto the Bayou, is a great place to run around in with lots of good climbing trees! After a day at the beach or fishing return to our quiet home with its trees and flowers. Sit on the wooden porch and watch the world pass. Walk into downtown Tarpon Springs with its antique stores and restaurants. Here you are far from the beach crowds, the noise and hard to find parking. Relax, sip your wine and talk about the day...let the quiet spirit of the house comfort you. Eat sweet mangoes or avocados from your own trees and experience what led so many people to come and settle here. From your Sicilian/Irish American hosts a Greek word.." faharisto"..Thank You!
