Cantik visi is superbly situated in the hills of "les Alberes"with panoramic views of the plaine du "Roussillon" and of the Mediterranean sea in the distance(16kms as the crow flies).The villa has been re-decorated to a high standard and will provide you with a home away from home environment.Situated in an area of outstanding beauty,this is a get away from it all retreat from the stresses of modern living.We can garantee you a holiday with peace,quiet and tranquility while still a short drive away from everything you would require for an enjoyable vacation.The villa itself is warm and welcoming with four double bedrooms and two singles,two of the bedrooms have walk-in wardrobes,the third one a simple wardrobe.There is a bathroom on the top floor which provides a tub with a shower attachment and lots of storage units and a shower room ensuite on the ground floor.The main living/dining area has been refurbished with natural wood furniture and has two leather sofas seating six in comfort,as well as a dining table seating six.We have provided a Satellite TV/DVD combo with Channels from all around the world (so every main languages are catered for).There are next to the living/dining areas two wonderful dining verandah, which allows you to enjoy the views night and day while listening to the Cicadas in the summer. Activities Cantik visi is in the wine growing region of the " Roussillon" in the southeastern tip of France ,next to the Spanish border(10kms)and the Mediterranean sea(18kms).Le Roussillon is well known in france for enjoying up to 300 days of sunshine per year and boasts long sandy beaches,great hiking,walking trails(right from our doorstep),wonderful Mediterranean cooking with lots of the ingredients being grown,raised or fished in our wonderful region.The Roussillon is one of the largest wine producing region of France and as such has a lots of Domains and Caves open for visitors to enjoy.There is a wealth of National monuments in our region to visit all within a 2 hours drive radius from our apartment.*Collioure with its narrow shopping streets,great art galleries,Chateau royal,and wonderful atmosphere.*Carcassonne a wonderful medieval town(one and half hour drive away).*Castelnou voted one of the most beautiful villages in France.*Abbaye de St Martin du Canigou(45kms away).*Palace of the kings of Mallorca and the Castillet in Perpignan.*Ceret with its bi-weekly market and interesting modern art museum.*Roman ruins,Via Domitia,Dolmens.*Dali's museum in Figueres(Spain)or his house in Cadaques(45kms away).*Barcelona on a daytrip visit(160 kms away)to admire Gaudi's work or sample the "Ramblas".*The little yellow train which goes up to the highest train station in France, through stunningly beautiful mountains scenery. *All the sporting activities you could dream of,The Roussillon being an outdoor person dreams come true.*All through the summer free thursday night music through the streets of "Perpinya la Catalana".*All the fun for the kids,with amusement parks close by(Puerto adventura 3 hours away)waterpark at St Cyprien,Funfair at Argeles sur mer,Sigean wilderness park(1 Hour away).*Without forgetting the real friendliness of the local and the proximity of real unspoilt scenery. Le Boulou area,Local amenities.Le boulou is a small town that will cater for all your holiday requirements,with supermarkets,delicatessens,bars,restaurants,tourist info centre,weekly market,casino and the hydrothermal spas with daily treatments available.The town has an open air olympic size swimming pool(July and August only),Tennis courts are available all year round,as well as weekly music,arts and cooking classes during the summer months.Le Boulou is 10 kms away from the Spanish border town of La Jonquera with better value shopping and typical Spanish food.Cantik visi is a mere 6kms away from the GR10 which crosses the Pyrenees from the Atlantic ocean to the Mediterranean sea(with the possibilities of hiking the last few kilometers to Banyuls sur mer).We are in a hikers paradise with high mountains 2 hours drive away and forestry trails right on our doorstep.There is a huge swimming/boating lake 5 minutes drive away with a small al fresco restaurant and a tree climbing experience. How to get to "Le Roussillon"Being at the border with Spain,Barcelona airport is under 2 hours drive away,with most major European airlines flying there.You also have the choice of flying from Paris to our regional airport of Perpignan.A wide number of low cost companies fly from the UK to our neck of the wood,here are a few:www.ryanair.com ,www.easyjet.com ,www.bmi.comThe TGV train gets you here from Paris in about five and half hours and the motorway network is only 6 kms away from the apartment.Car rental is better value in Spain and it should be no problem to take the car over the border.
