Ease of Travel: Due to Trevignano's central location which is right outside of Rome, but also very close to Umbria, it is a perfect starting point for day trips to Umbria and Toscana, and even trips down south to the Amalfi Coast area. From Trevignano, one can, in minutes, access the freeways necessary to drive to areas such as Assisi, Florence, Siena or even to the incredible seaside locations of Porto Santo Stefano on Monte Argentario, which should not be missed! From Trevignano you start your day-trips with ease; no traffic, great freeway access, no hassle! Here is what other sites have said about Trevignano: Trevignano Romano, only 30 minutes from the heart of Rome, is a picturesque village with a delightful mediaeval centre situated on a promontory on the beautiful Lake Bracciano. The ruins of a castle stand on a hill above the village and there is an Etruscan museum. It is a favourite place with artists and sculptors. A tree-lined road and path along the lakeside stretch for about three kilometres with many bars and restaurants. overlooking the lake. For environmental purposes no motor boats are allowed. On the lake there is sailing, windsurfing and canoeing, and there are several beaches. In summer there are boat rides round the lake, stopping at the three towns of Trevignano, Bracciano and Anguillara. The sea is about 35km away. There are many pleasant walks in the area for those who love walking, and also cycling. Trevignano Romano in the so called "Tuscia romana" is an ideal centre for trips in a region of great tourist, artistic and natural interest, and the centre of the Etruscan culture. Apart from Rome (45 km), the following places of interest can be easily reached. Cerveteri with its Etruscan tombs(30 km), Bracciano with its mediaeval castle(12 km), Sutri (12 km), Viterbo (45 km), Tarquinia(61 km), Tuscania (52 km), Caprarola (25 km), the hills of Tolfa and other attractive places.
