Situated on the Antigonish Harbour just ten minutes from town, this quiet retreat feels like it’s worlds away. The house is surrounded by water – on 6 acres of land. The beach goes on forever and is perfectly secluded – swimming is excellent. So is canoeing. It’s all here, paddles, lifejackets, picnic accessories...just add your imagination. If nature is your thing, enjoy the walking trails through the forest in the back portion of the property. Look for signs of piliated woodpeckers and search the sky for great blue heron and American eagles. Indoors you’ll be greeted with warm cherry wood everywhere, original art, oriental rugs and sumptuous furnishings. And every window looks onto the ocean. The master bedroom has a queen size bed with dense thread count sheets and a pure goose down duvet (ocean breezes keep the house cool at night). It leads to the full bathroom with marble counter top and lovely Italian fixtures. The second bedroom has a country cottage feel with a four poster queen bed surrounded by butternut antique furniture. The third bedroom is decorated in cool seabreezed colours and has a double bed. The fourth has two twin beds and is ideal for children. The fifth bedroom can be modified from another living area if needed with a queen bed and lots of space. There's also a pull- out sofa in the main family room for any overflow. The contemporary cherry wood kitchen has everything you need including dishwasher and lovely china, dishes, glassware and handmade ceramics. The dining area seats up to 8 and is combined with the family room, complete with woodstove. There’s also a door that leads to the outside dining area under a covered porch and gas BBQ. Steps from the family room take you down to the great room, pictured below; a spectacular room with 14’ vaulted ceilings and an entertainment unit in a pickled pine carved French armoire. French doors lead out to the deck. A second full bathroom is available on the lower level and it’s attached to a full laundry room. There’s another family room and two bedrooms on that level that could be made available if extra bedroom space is needed. All in all- the house is very nicely decorated but it’s not formal. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, colourful and artistic. And the grounds are truly spectacular. We know you’ll love being here!
