The property is only 1 ½ mles from Patara beach with 15 kms of fine golden sand this is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in the world and forms part of Patara National Park, Together with the impressive and ever-changing sand dunes and bordering pine forest, the beach is in a protected area and therefore remains totally uncommercialised. What better way to explore the National Park then on horse back or canoeing down the Xanthos river to where it meets the sea? For the more active you can explore ancient trails by quad bike? Walking is an excellent way to explore the vast ruins of Patara or trek the famous ancient Lycian way which is well signed making trekking easy. Patara is thought to be one of the largest archaeological sites, larger than Ephesus and has a fine amphitheatre, old Roman baths, triumphal gate and many Lycian tombs scattered throughout the area. Recently the sand dunes have revealed the oldest lighthouse in the world, currently being restored. Where else do we recommend? The old fishing village of Kalkan is just 4 miles away and hosts an array of fabulous restaurants and a wealth of water activities. You can visit a Greek island too during your stay by taking an island hop to visit Kastellorizo, one of the smallest Greek islands (only a 20 min boat journey from Kas). Or you can explore the hidden and relatively untraversed hot spring caverns near Tlos (20 mins away ) or walk up the breathtaking Saklikent Gorge (15 mins away) or take a lazy boat trip around the beautiful turquoise coast line. Chill on a relaxing day trip around the bays and islands of Kalkan, lunch is served onboard. Plenty of swimming and even a mud bath is usually the order of the day. Patara is on a prime bus route and dolmuses run daily to and from Patara to Fethiye, Kalkan and the surrounding villages. Kekova, Myra & Church of St Nicolas are popular destinations with visitors, where the famous rock tombs of Myra are to be found as well as the early medieval domed Basilica of St Nicholas. Jeep Safari & trips to Islamlar is a great way to spend the day with a drive up to the mountains for an unforgettable day of adventure and excitement. Scuba Diving in Kalkan is excellent with dive companies offering full day trips, 'try dives' and PADI open water courses. Or ………simply do nothing ! ACCOMMODATION Accommodation comprises of 3 double bedrooms and a huge ground floor chill-out area / fourth double bedroom which has large French windows leading to a covered terrace and to the pool. Each bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, the master bedroom having its own spacious bathroom complete with double corner bath. The family sized kitchen has traditional terracotta stone flooring and freestanding Quaker style units, a double butler sink,a huge granite centre island for food preperation and a long pine table with bench seating for 8 people. The spacious lounge has a high wooden angled ceiling and rustic style fireplace with sofa seating and floor cushions. French windows lead to the balcony with further dining table and chairs. Air conditioning in all rooms. The pool dominates the front terrace and comes complete with wooden deckchairs and “sun pods”. Access to the pool can be prevented by closing the downstairs terrace gates. With two large terraces, balcony, grassed areas with seating and a shaded terrace you can guarantee that no matter how many of you stay, you can still find a quiet spot to relax, read or sunbathe...
