Not many places offer you the opportunity to watch a bald eagle eat its breakfast in front of you each and every morning. We have several local eagles who like to perch on the piling in front of the cabin every day!! The Gray Whales have just arrived mid-March and lumber by in front of the cabin each day between noon and 3 pm. The Orcas play out in front of the cabin during the fall and early winter. Take a beautiful walk along the miles of serene and pristine beach or just relax and watch the wildlife on Puget Sound from the cabin. Experience the Bald Eagles, Blue Heron and deer from this charming beachfront home. Whales, porpoises, sea lions, otters and seals play right in your front yard. Glendale Creek, an active salmon stream, empties just south of the cabin and throughout fall and early winter you can watch the returning salmon heading up to spawn.

Glendale Beach Cabin has a long history from it's origin as a fishing cabin back when Mohn's Glendale Resort was a destination for Northwest fishermen on Whidbey Island. In the fall, we still catch salmon from the beach in front of the cabin! Silvers (Coho) run September through November. Bring your fishing gear and catch dinner off the beach!

You can dig clams for your dinner or kayak and fish right from your front yard. Experience unforgettable beachwalks along the virtually desserted miles of pristine beach or hike into the wooded canyon along Glendale Creek. You might be interested in biking some of the country roads around South Whidbey, which is popular during summer. The historic and charming town of Langley is only 8 miles north and offers restaurants, antique shops, art galleries and an old fashioned movie theater.

This Whidbey Island beach cottage is extremely clean and very well appointed. The bedroom is furnished with an old-fashioned iron bed with a plush down comforter and high thread count Garnet Hill organic cotton bedding. You can wake up and gaze out to the sunrise over Possession Sound without lifting your head off the pillow!! The living room and dining room are open and airy with a view of the expansive deck, the beach and Possession Sound. There is a cozy gas fireplace in the livingroom that keeps it nice and toasty for the cooler weather. There is also a stereo/cd player, iPod dock, color T.V. and vcr/dvd player. We stock the cabin with many games and lots of reading material for all ages.

The kitchen is open toward the living and dining rooms and well organized with nice dishes & flatware, fine stemware, a complete quality knife set, cookware & griddle, bakeware, a roasting pan, blender and all the kitchen neccessities you could possibly need. It has a full-size refrigerator and range, microwave oven and the basic cooking supplies like sugar, flour, oil & some spices, foil, plastic wrap and paper towels. We also provide a programable Cuisinart coffee maker, Krups grinder and fresh gourmet coffee or a selection of fine teas.

The living room has a very comfortable queen sofa-sleeper and windows on three sides for views south toward Seattle, east to the beach and looking north is a delightful view of majestic Mount Baker. You can view the ferries passing from Mukilteo to Clinton all day and into the night. On the north end of the dining room, there is an open area with a very comfortable window seat / day bed that can be used as an extra twin bed. It is loaded with comfy down and cotton/linen pillows for reading, taking a nap or just watching the menagerie on the water & beach. There are also plenty of extra cotton and down blankets and throws for the sofa sleeper and the day bed.

One bath has an antique claw-foot tub & candles for a relaxing soak and the other has a bright, new glass and white tile enclosed shower. Both are supplied with large, plush organic cotton towels from West Elm and Eddie Bauer Home. The deck between the cabin and beach is extremely large and perfect for summertime barbeques and lounging. There is a wonderfully large picnic table and hand-hewn furniture styled from driftwood from the beach. Add the fire pit with dry wood and you have a lovely outdoor experience for your family vacation. Beach fires are also permitted. There are also folding beach chairs and lounge chairs along with large beach towels.

Better than a bed and breakfast, because the beach cabin is all yours! Miles of virtually deserted beach run north and south for great beach combing. Come and enjoy the good life. Commune with nature and relax. Glendale Beach Cabin is a peaceful, serene and comfortable getaway!

We ask that you send 1/2 of the total amount of your rental as your deposit to confirm a reservation. The balance, including 10.3% tax is due upon arrival. We also require a $100 damage deposit which is refundable after the cabin has been inspected after your departure. Additionally there is a $50 non-refundable clean-out fee for every rental.

We have a 2 night minimum policy. During July and August, we require a minimum of one week.
