Charm and an abundance of serenity, this cottage is set in the romantic honey-coloured village of Saint-Vincent-de-Cosse.Les Hortensias is ideal for four guests, and has the possibility of sleeping a further 2 people on a third "basic" bedroom. With its secluded gardens and sunny yard, the cottage gives the feel of being in peaceful countryside, yet offers the village security and community spirit. For walkers there is many footpath starting from the house. Within easy reach are the medieval town of Sarlat , the amazing cave systems of Perigord, the spectacular chateaux of Castelnaud, Beynac and Montfort and the troglodyte villages of La Roque Gageac and St Christophe, Les Hortensias is the ideal base to discover the “Golden Triangle” of Dordogne... or just relax in! Indoor description: From the front secluded garden, the french windows open into a cosy salon beautifully furnished with sofa, armchairs, coffee table... There is a large screen satellite TV with the basic UK channels, a dvd player and a large cast iron woodstove. There is a table and chairs. It has a door which open onto the back yard.
Adjacent the living room is the kitchen, fully equipped with a cooker, electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. It has a door to access the front secluded garden. At the other side of the kitchen is the “guests house” which can be used for a larger family. It has a living room with a sofa, armchair and coffee table. Also on groundfloor a shower-room with toilets, ideal to be used when you are back from the garden. At first floor is a spare double bedded room which can sleeps another two guests. There is a shower unit and toilets next door. Back to the main house’s salon, the wooden staircase leads upstairs to a large landing, two bedrooms and the bathroom. The comfortably elegant master bedroom with its exposed wooden beams has a double bed and a wardrobe. The second smaller bedroom sleeps 2. Its two single beds can easily be joined to be turned into a double bed. Both bedrooms have view over the countide. The light and airy bathroom has a full bath, sink, bidet and toilet. Althought there is a garage which can be let fo storage it might be more easy to park 100m down as the lanes of the village are very small to drive in. Outdoor description: At the front of the garden is a small secluded garden with hydrangeas, rose trees and a large edge. It has a marble table and four chairs. At the back of the house is a charming yard where you will enjoyed to dine al fresco. It come equiped with a large table, six chairs and a parasol. A small stone staircase leads onto a second small secluded garden offering shady and sunny areas to sit and relax. SITUATION : Les Hotensias is an ideal spot from which to explore the pretty riverside villages such as Beynac and La Roque Gageac, seemingly impossibly built into the side of a cliff. The medieval Sarlat, the bastides of Domme and Limeuil, where the Dordogne River and Vezere river met, Les Eyzies and the Vezere valley, are all within a 15miles from the house.
1 mile away is the famous village of Beynac, with its magnificent fortress Château, voted "one of the pretiest villages of France". 2 miles away is the picturesque town of St Cyprien, which has a colourful market every Sunday, supermarket, shops and restaurants. The Dordogne river - with a rocky beach, canoe to hire and and aventure parcours on the trees - is to a convenient 2km from the house at the hamlet "Port d'Envaux"
