Agriturismo Castagnatello is a delightfully restored traditional stone house immersed in the Tuscan countryside, wonderfully situated between the luscious Amiata Mountain and the enchanting Val d’Orcia.
The property, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, offer breathtaking views of the nearby hilltop hamlet of Seggiano and Amiata mountain.
This imposing Tuscan country house has 5 independent apartments furnished to high standards, offering panoramic terraces or access to the lovely garden to enjoy meals outside. There is as well a luxurious infinity swimming pool of 53x25 feet with its own bathroom and shower, a Tasting House to sample local gastronomy and a BBQ for customer use.
The 5 apartments are independent are for:
7 people (Castagno Apartment), 6 people (Vigna apartment), 4 people (Ulivo apartment), 3 people (Ginestra apartment) and 2 people (Quercia apartment).
The Amiata and Val d’Orcia area is renowned for its delicious local gastronomy and fine wines: quality cold pressed olive oil; superb wines like the renowned Brunello di Montalcino and Nobile di Montepulciano; fabulous aged pecorino cheese like the pecorino di Pienza; gorgeous chestnut honey, wild boar and porcini mushrooms from the Amiata mountain; and to finish local fresh pasta like ricotta and spinach ravioli and the traditional pici.
Activity-wise the nearby Monte Amiata is a wildlife rich natural park with several walking trails, bbq areas, and a good spot for snowy winter sports between December and March; for those who prefer culture and sightseeing this is a fabulous spot, as Val d'Orcia is renowned for its traditions, gastronomy and fine wines and every historical Tuscan town here has something beautiful to discover.
Our apartments:
QUERCIA apartment (sleeps 2)
“Quercia” apartment is named after the nearby oak trees and the pretty kitchen tiles. This is a delightful one-bedroom apartment on the first floor with an amazing terrace that offers all round spectacular views of the Amiata mountain and of the ancient hilltop villages of Seggiano and Monte Giovi. Ideal for a romantic holiday to remember.
GINESTRA apartment (sleeps 3)
“Ginestra” apartment is on the ground floor and takes it’s name from the local sweetly-scented yellow broom. This apartment has a very large bedroom with one double and one single bed, which can sleep 3, and an open plan kitchen/living room that gives on to a small patio overlooking the garden, with fantastic views of the hilltop hamlet town of Seggiano.
ULIVO apartment (sleeps 4)
The ground floor apartment “Ulivo” has a spacious living room with a lovely open fireplace and comfortable sofa. The built-in kitchen has a tiled surface top, chestnut wood cabinets, dishwasher, fridge, oven and travertine marble sink. In this apartment there are one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and 2 bathrooms. This apartment can be connected to the adjacent “Castagno” apartment on the same floor for larger family groups of up to 11.
VIGNA apartment (sleeps 6)
Stone steps and a large terrace lead up to the charming “Vigna” apartment on the first floor, which sleeps six. It has 2 very large double bedrooms sharing a bathroom and 1 twin bedroom with a sky-lighted en-suite shower room. There is a lovely stone fireplace in the open plan kitchen/living room and a comfortable sofa.
CASTAGNO apartment (sleeps 7)
The “Castagno” apartment is on 2 floors and has a large built-in kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and a wood-burning stove and is separated from the living room by a stone arch. There is a large double bedroom on the ground floor with en suite shower room suitable for wheelchair access and a covered patio with table for six. The ancient stone stairs lead to the upstairs bedrooms, one spatious double with a third single bed and one twin, each with en suite shower rooms. Both bedrooms lead onto a very large terrace with fantastic views of the Amiata mountain and the hamlet of Seggiano. This apartment can be connected to the adjacent “Ulivo” apartment for larger family groups of up to 11.

Activities in our property:
- Wine tasting of some of the finest Tuscan wines is available in our Tasting House. Please enquire.
- Local gastronomy - like local cheeses, charcuterie and chestnut honey - can be sampled in our Tasting House.
- Cookery courses in the Tasting house facility are available depending on request and season. These include traditional gastronomy like fresh home made fresh ravioli or pizza cooked in our wood burning oven.
- Painting courses, to enjoy the fantastic landscape that surround the estate, are available depending on request and season.

We provide bed linen and bathroom towels.
All the apartments of the estate have central heating.
The infinity swimming pool (53x25 feet) and the BBQ are exclusively for customer enjoyment.
If needed we can provide travel cots for babies. Should you need it, please let us know.
Parking is within the property grounds, and it's free of charge.
The property is suitable for children.
Final cleaning of the apartments is not included: 30 euros for Quercia and Ginestra apartments; 40 euros for Ulivo apartment; 50 euros for Castagno and Vigna apartments.
Changeover days and minimum stay:
4th July-29th August: minimum stay of a week, changeover day Saturday.
Rest of the year: minimum stay od 2 nights, changeover flexible.
Usually check in is around 16:00 (flexible), and check out at 11:00.
To secure your apartment more than 4 weeks before the start of the rental, a booking deposit of 30% of the rental amount is payable. The remaining balance will be due on or before 4 weeks prior to the commencement of the rental arrangements. Bookings made within 4 weeks of the start of the rental must be accompained by the whole rental cost.
Security deposit: Upon arrival at the property you will be required to sign the Security Deposit Form, in order to cover for possible damage or loss to the property. The amount stated in the form 300 euros. NO charge will be processed from the credit card unless it becomes due upon departure.
If the cost of the repair or replacement exceeds the security deposit paid, the tenant remains liable for the difference between the security deposit and the total cost of repair.
