Also known as "Hawk's Haven", Black Rock Ranch stands on 3 acres of property next to Black Rock Mountain State Park. This large 3 bed, 2 bath, ranch style house is almost 3,000 sq feet, and will sleep 11 persons.The master bedroom suite has a king-size, 4 poster bed, with a bathroom en suite. A second bedroom has a queen size canopied bed and the third bedroom has a bunk bed, with a lower double and a single upper bed. A further bathroom is adjacent to these 2 bedrooms. A laundry room with washer/dryer on the lower level. Linens, bedding, towels, kitchen/toilet rolls, garbage bags, detergents, etc. are provided. The large kitchen has both a bar with stools, and a "built-in" dining area. Dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, fridge/freezer and range provide full self-catering opportunities. There is a huge deck running all the way around the house, with porch furniture/swing and a full view of the pasture below. A gate secures this deck, perfect for small children or pets. Horses are also welcome -please see pasture info The living room has a big rock, wood burning fireplace. (There is also central heating and ceiling fans). Seating and sofa, together with TV/cable/VCR and music center/CD make this area the center of the house. Next to Black Rock Mountain State Park (see photo), two sides of the property ajoin the National Forest, and hiking trails leave the property right off the porch. An outside firepit and BBQ provide great "outdoor living." There are also apple, cherry and plum trees and blueberry/blackberry bushes on the property. Black Rock Ranch - Hawk's Haven - Horse/Pasture information: The Pasture: There is ample parking for horse trailers and boxes. The pasture/paddock is some 1 1/2 acres, and a run-in shed is located at the side. Full view of the pasture below is available from the decks of the house. There is a water trough and hose available. Also a shed for feed, buckets and tack. Riding: Many roads around the house are gravel and dirt, and also there is riding immediately off the property into the forest. Spectacular riding may be had in the county by trailering the horses to many purposely made horse trails, in the national forest. (Rabun County is 80% National Forest.) One spectacular rides takes you alongside the Chattooga River, one of the seven United States National White-Water Rivers. Horse riding is not permitted, however, on the hiking trails in Black Rock State Park. More information regarding trails in this area is available upon request.

A $100 security deposit should also be brought in cash, and will be refunded on departure. Rates Paddock board for horses is $25 per weekend, $50 per week, per head. Hay and feed are not provided; there is a good feed store in Clayton.
