Welcome to my newest favorite place on the planet - Bali Hai - in Ubud, Bali. See my articles on Bali at www.escapeartist.com and www.robinsparks.com. Located just 4 miles north of Ubud (the artistic and cultural heart of Bali) on the Sayan Ridge, this place is PARADISE!!! Like a two-story artist’s studio, it overlooks the jungle and the River Ayung. Trees sprout coconuts, mangos and wild flowers of many varieties. The only human sounds you’ll hear are the occasional gleeful shouts of rafters on the river below. Or the locals cutting coconuts and mangos from the nearby trees, and occasionally the distant chanting of a priest from a temple in the valley. You'll have your own private swimming hole down and picnic area just down the hill. I have arranged with a nearby hotel for you to swim - for swimming rights you only need to order a drink. We have guides who will take you on a trek through the jungle and rice paddies and even to a jungle village that most tourists never see. Neighborhood: The Sayan Valley is sometimes referred to as the Beverly Hills of Ubud. Two of Bali’s most exclusive hotels - the Four Seasons, the Amandari are within one-quarter mile of the Jungalow should you need or want their services, and two of Bali’s most exclusive hotels could not be wrong - this is simply the most beautiful place in all of Bali. Ceiling fans throughout. 2 bathrooms decorated with handcarved javanese sinks. Professionally decorated throughout. Your own private garden. Full of light and windows. Two stories,2 bedrooms (1 bedroom per floor). Sleeps up to 6. The living room/bedroom can be divided with a series of rattan blinds. This large room overlooking the jungle sports a handcarved antique javanese bed which doubles as a communal sitting area during the day and a comfy bed at night. A queen size bed awaits you in the large bedroom/office upstairs. Beautiful wood floors upstairs, tile down. Mosquito nets on beds. It’s the perfect location - enjoy a five star meal at one of Bali’s nearby exclusive hotels or a traditional warung (less than $1 per plate of homecooked Balinese food). Or get the housekeeper, Wayan to roust up something for you in the kitchen. Television, VCR, surround sound speakers. Speakers on both floors for your ipod or mp3 player, or put a cd in the DVD player. We can help you arrange a river rafting expedition at the nearby Sobek. Shop at local markets. Or in hotel boutiques. Have an hour-long massage for under $15 a 3 min walk from the house or have them come to the you. Your own driver at your beck and call and a daily maid to clean, collect laundry and attend to any needs you may have. Just ask! Free local telephone. Internet modem at your disposal plus internet cafes nearby. Many famous restaurants within 5 minutes of the house including Naughty Nuri’s and Mosaic. Also the Neka Museum. It doesn't get much better than this! Your neighbors are a famous local painter and a renowned local architect. The sounds from the jungalow are the river and the creatures of the jungle. True to all my favorite places on the planet, this one is just off the tourist track with its noise and pollution in order to provide you with an authentic, relaxing escape, yet close enough to put you in downtown Ubud or the sites in moments. This one is brand new for me, just renovated last spring. It will fill fast. I know you will love it. My staff will take care of your every need.
