Villa Las Cumbres is atop the Santiago Peninsula between the Bays of Manzanillo and Santaigo along the Mexican Riviera in Manzanillo, Mexico. Las Cumbres literally means the summits. This Mediterranean/Mexican style Villa overlooks the tranquil water of the secluded Bay of Audiencia and it is the beach where the movie '10', starring Bo Derek was filmed. This is also the beach where sailors from Cortez's galleons granted an audience with local Indian Chieftains in 1523, thus named Playa (beach) de La Audencia. The view from the Villa is breathtaking. In the early morning with hues of pink, the clouds ring the Sierra Madre along the coast before the day clears to reveal the mountain tops. Most days are blue skys and cooling breezes. As the sun sets with bronze tones, the lights of the mainland twinkle along the water and up on the hillside. The numerous beaches offer acess to many water sports such as snorkeling, sunbathing with umbrellas for rent, beachside dining, surfing, kayaking, scuba diving, and cruises at sunset. In addition there are deep-sea fishing charters, horseback riding, biking, bird watching, and hiking. If golf is an interest, there are two of Mexico's finest links nearby. Arrangements can be made for a driver and vehicle, tours, massage, manicure/pedicure, haitdresser, and night life. There are few tourists, international cuisine, excellent climate and beautiful environs. In addition it is inexpensive and very safe with virtually no crime in Manzanillo. The secluded Villa provides an understated ambiance that feels cozy and it enjoys cool temperatures from the thick walls and strong breezes from the Sierra Madre and the Bays. There are four spacious bedrooms with full, tiled baths and gorgeous views and sounds of the mountains and the water. The Villa is built on two lots with fewer levels and easy stairs that is not often found. The location affords the safety and tranquility of the Santiago Peninsula with easy access to the other beaches and numerous sights along the main land. A long term resident of thirty-seven years remarked that this is one of the nicest homes in Manzanillo. The foundation is solid, buttressed stones instead of pier construction and received high marks from structural engineers who inspected the building. There are no outside stairs to access living areas on multiple levels; rather all living areas are enclosed on two levels. The large living area and seperate dining room with sideboard make entertaining a treat. The kitchen with marble counter tops is set up for gourmet cooking with many amenities. A large terrace extends the entire length of the Villa with tables, chairs, wet bar, and grill for relaxing. The bedrooms have bulit-in dressers and closets made with indigenous hardwood. The work is impeccable. Each room in the house has fans. The fully tiled floors and terraces are gorgeous. The artwork in the Villa has been collected from the region and the home is fully furnished. The pool has an automatic water level control and it is fully tiled as well as the surrounding deck. Overhanging palms, flowers and chaise longues make sunbathing luxurios. The property offers the privacy and space to relax and enjoy your hoilday of a lifetime. With direct flights into Manzanillo Airport, this paradise is readily accessible.. Included in the amenities are daily maid service (limited on Sunday), pool care, pest control, gardener, Satellite TV, DVD, CD with speakers by the pool, private garage, and the Villa Manager who speaks English. There is a seperate laundry room and a computer with printer/scanner for guest's use. A cook is optional who will prepare meals as requested. Dinner is prepared and left for the quests to serve unless other arangements are made. The guests pay for their food and beverages and can be arranged with the staff. Tips for the staff are appreciated.
