It is in an incredibly quiet & peaceful spot yet just a five minute walk through lovely residential avenues to the best part of the seafront & several restaurants. It was the first (& is likely to be the only) development of its kind to be allowed here & is built in traditional Andalucian "pueblo" style in order to be totally in keeping with the surroundings - with winding paths, lovely private gardens, swimming pools & a popular bar/snack bar on site. The development itself is already taking on the air of a village within a village & proving very popular with families as children can play safely. The beach at La Azohia is gently shelving with shallow, warm waters & a beautiful new palm-lined promenade stretching two miles ensuring a memorable evening stroll along the sea front as the sun sets across the bay. Much prized by the Spanish the sea here is considered amongst the clearest in Spain & has been granted blue flag status for many years with the deeper waters at Cabo Tinoso known by divers far & wide for their colourful sea beds & by the local fishermen who still bring in their daily tuna catches to the quaint marina. Seafront facilities include water sports & diving clubs with showers on the beach along with a snack bar & children's play area. The area is well known for excellent fishing & come early evening you will see the locals unwinding awaiting a catch on the beaches of Isla Plana, the next village which adjoins La Azohia. There is a limited selection of good restaurants & bars in La Azohia itself, in Isla Plana & extensive facilities in the bustling port of Mazarron just ten minutes drive away. Opportunities for wonderful walking is provided in the local hills or the Sierra Espuna natural park inland. Spa facilities are available at the 4* Azohia Hotel. For cultural excursions the town of Cartagena with its ancient port & Murcia with its magnificent Baroque cathedral should not be missed. Both have El Corte Ingles department stores for those with shopping in mind. There are also many colourful markets & fiestas. There are several golf courses nearby including the famous La Manga Club where we also have a property. Since both are served by the same airport we are able to offer an interesting two-centre option providing the same high quality at two quite different destinations. El Mirador is a ground floor 3 bed 2 bath bungalow which must surely (along with the one on the upper level) occupy the best position on the entire development. It stands on the front line yet in a quiet location on the most southerly corner of the community with uninterrupted views towards the sea to the south & west. Being an end property it is completely unattached on 3 sides with a private parking space immediately outside & three separate fully tiled, spacious terraces covering 120 sq m - an east facing breakfast terrace, south/west facing evening terrace with open sea views & a fantastic huge raised south/west facing sun deck again with stunning views & a superb traditional chimney BBQ with matching table & benches. You have a choice of full sun or full shade any time of the day - essential for those with young children. Being arranged on one floor in a convenient apartment-style layout with just the one above & one below & with easy access up just six split steps the property is particularly suitable for those with grandparents or toddlers in buggies. It is south west facing & has wonderful uninterrupted views towards the sea. This is a lovely outdoor space at any time of day with a table, six chairs & parasol. The back terrace, accessed from the kitchen & one of the bedrooms as well as from outside, also has a table & six chairs plus a clothes dryer. But the best feature of all must be the fantastic raised BBQ & sun terrace. It is huge at around 30 feet long by 11 feet wide & has a stunning stone/tiled traditional chimney BBQ, a matching stone table with four benches which will accommodate up to 10, & four quality sun loungers. It is fully lit to enable you to wine & dine al fresco until as late as you wish. This is again a completely private space with open westerly views towards the sea. Miscellaneous - wash basket, pegs, iron, ironing board, first aid kit, fire extinguisher & blanket. Terms: 30% deposit on booking, balance 8 weeks prior to departure. Our cancellation policy is that the deposit/balance or part thereof is repayable only if a new booking is found. Cancellation insurance is required as we cannot guarantee repayment. A damages deposit of GBP150 will be required with the balance but repaid after the holiday when the property has been checked. Saturday is the usual changeover in summer months but there may be some flexibility during winter - please always enquire first for availability for non-Saturday periods rather than using the booking system. Access is from 4pm on day of arrival to 10am on day of departure. Age of oldest guest must be over 30 yrs & maximum number of children is 3 plus a baby. Occupancy Notes: The figure of 7 includes a baby in the cot. Please note we cannot accommodate 7 adults. We feel strongly that in order to enjoy a property as it is intended it should not be over-filled. Only the guests specified on the booking form will be permitted to stay & beds made up accordingly.
