Stand just inside the fortified town walls of the village of Domme (classified as “one of the most beautiful villages of France’’), this beautifully restored stone village house has superb and extensive views over the valley. It is 3 minutes walk from the shops, bars and restaurants of the bastide village and has a small secluded garden and a private pool. Just think - you can lie in bed enjoying the countryside views and send the kids to get the baguettes and croissants in the mornings! Le Rempart - La Belle Vue has three bedrooms and two shower room, a very large living room with an opened kitchen, and a charming cosy salon. It has been restored and redecorated with a keen eye to detail whilst retaining many of the original features with exposed stone and beams. From the terrace, french door opens to the living room with its dining area and open plan kitchen fully equipped with a electric oven, 4 burner gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Also on that level a first shower room and separate toilets. Open tread spiral staircase leads up to the first floor with its comfortably elegant salon, with armchairs, satellite TV, DVD player and Hi-Fi. A log fire is provided for those chillier evenings in low and middle season. Next is the first double bedded room with a shower room and toilets. Set on the upper level, the second attractive double bedded room and the twin, have both valley view. Outside, the large terrace with dining area and barbecue and the swimming pool (8x4m, all one depth) with its large paved surround takes also full advantage of the view. The small secluded garden offers shady and sunny areas to sit and lie in. Situation: ********** Domme is an attraction in itself. Built in the 13th century, it stands above a bend in the river Dordogne. Its history is fascinating and its old buildings and streets have been perfectly preserved. It has restaurants of all grades, a weekly market and its own caves accessible from the market square. Within easy reach are the medieval town of Sarlat (much used in film sets), the amazing cave systems of Perigord, the spectacular chateaux of Castelnaud, Beynac and Montfort and the troglodyte villages of LaRoque Gageac and St Christophe. This is not known as the Golden Triangle for nothing! Golf is available at the Domaine de Rochebois (7km away) and near Siorac, there is canoeing on the river, riding 4km away and tennis courts are available at Domme.
