Five Oaks is a four bedroom house in a high, quiet, low traffic area with sunrise over water and a bay or ocean view from every room. The George Bass/Matthew Flinders memorial is just 100m from Five Oaks. Walk or drive along Golf Links Road through the Golf Course (Bass Park) and pass the West Head Gunnery Range and the Pilot Station. Detour down the cliff road to the ocean beach and the Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary. Mushroom Reef breaks the ferocity of the ocean waves and provides a sandy beach with safe swimming for small children. A variety of birds are attracted by the activity in the many rock pools. Continue up the hill and see magnificent views of the rugged ocean surf beach. Pass the hang glider launching platform and car park near the sixth green where radio controlled model aircraft are often to be seen. Complete the circle back into Flinders Village past the well-equipped playground. The Mornington Peninsula, and Red Hill/Flinders in particular, is a renowned grape growing area. Many of the wineries have restaurants or tasting rooms attached. Boating, fishing, yachting and golf are other attractions. Five of Australia's best 30 golf courses can be found within 20 minutes drive from Flinders.
