Situated on the beautiful and unspoilt Cilento coast 50 Km south of Salerno and the well known Amalfi coast, Castellabate is a true undiscovered gem preserving its history, tradtion and culture with unspoilt natural scenery set in the Cilento National park and overlooking beautiful stretches of sandy beaches.From the apartment balconies infront of the house one can marvel at the most breath-taking scenery along the Cilento coastline with its sandy beaches below and the endless stretch of azzure waters beyond as far as the Amalfi coast and Island of Capri. The property is well located amongst shady pine trees with a backdrop of unspoilt hills and yet the main pedestrian village with shops and supermarkets as well as the sandy beaches can be reached in a short 5 minute drive. The property is all on one level and consists of 3 bedrooms - 1 doubel, 1 twin adn 1 single and 2 bathrooms -one with shower,wc,bidet adn sink the other with wc, sink and bidet. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, gas cooker with 4 hobs and oven, sink unit and cupboard and kitchen table, corner fireplace and TV with 2 seater sofa. It opens on one side onto a balcony with sea views with a table and chairs for outdoor dining and on the other side onto the patio area witha pergola and garden area also suitable for outdoor dining, relaxing and sunbathing with coastal view There are a selection of shops and supermarkets in and near the village and some wonderful restaurants in the area where in the summer one can eat 'al fresco' One can also enjoy a morning cappuccino from one of the bars in the piazza whilst mingling with the locals or just sit and watch the world go by. The sandy beaches recently awarded the 'bandiera blu' for clean seas and the villages of Santa Maria with its lively pedestrian centre and San Marco with its picturesque fishing port can be reached in a 5 minute drive. The ancient medieval village of Castellabate is a short drive away and sits on the hillstop offering stunning views in an unspoilt context which takes you back in time. The myriad of steps and alleyways lead you through graceful stone arches and cobbled streets untouched by time with hidden architectural treasures at every turn. Castellabate is now under the patronage of the UNESCO and recognised as one of the oldest 'living works of art' an inhabited medieval village where history and tradition live together,and where the locals readily extend their friendliness and hospitality.
