Our house is a traditional Cycladic restored house on the Apollonia’s central walk-only paveway situated in the midst of the Village’s heartbeat day and night.
In front of the house there is a large courtyard which is shared with one of the 350 churches of the island and may be used by the tenants. The courtyard exits to the main street which is the island’s preferred promenade featuring lots of shops, bars and restaurants.
A small patio at the back is our preferred shady breakfast space for hot summer mornings and has an external shower additionally to the normal bathroom. The courtyards are full of greenery; whine, jasmine, roses , bougainvillaea, rosemary, basil, pomegranate and lemon trees to give you needed shade and the typical scent of the Cyclades .They are the perfect place for starting and ending your days.The inside spaces of the house consist of a spacious living room with a large dining table and a sofa, a kitchen equipped with all modern means but also the traditional fireplace for cooking, three bedrooms(one master bedroom with a double bed and two small bedrooms; one with a double bed the other with two singles) and a bathroom; Restoration has been effected paying respect to the environment and the original traditional islandic architecture using mainly stone and wood materials. The thick stone walls and wooden roof keep the house naturally cool during even the hottest summer months.
