There aren't many condos right on a beautiful sandy beach, where you can swim or snorkel right in front of them. And there aren't many condos where you can sit on the lanai and watch Humpback Whales leap out of the ocean while they frolic and play out in Maalaea Bay each year during their winter migration from November to April.
When you walk into my condo and see the view of the ocean from the living room, you will be delighted. When you go outside to the large ground floor lanai, the spectacular 180-degree views of Maui's entire south coast, will take your breath away. Every morning you can sit on the lanai and watch the sun come up over Haleakala. It is truly, an indescribable experience.
Our condo is not like an "interior" unit that shares two common walls. These have only one window in their master and their second bedroom window opens to a busy walkway or parking lot, allowing strangers to look in. They must keep the blinds closed for privacy.
My Corner Condo has NO NEIGHBORS on one side allowing for 180-degree views of Maui's entire south coast. It is quieter, more private and also has incredible views of the beach from the front corner, master bedroom's large wall-to-wall windows that face both sides of the beach. Our second bedroom also has views of the ocean, the tropical grounds and the pool.
Our bedrooms are 'traditional' rooms with four solid walls and locking doors. They are not like the 'loft' bedrooms that are open to the space below, or the master bedrooms that are completely open to the living room and only close with a flimsy folding wall. These offer no privacy or insulation from the noise of other guests.
In our master bedroom is a $2,600 King size "Sleep Numbers" adjustable bed with dual remotes. Each side can be set to your desired firmness or softness. This provides for a wonderful nights sleep. Two twin beds in the 2nd bedroom can be pushed together to create another king size bed. Both bedrooms have lovely designer bedding, beautiful window blinds, new cooling ceiling fans and Cable TVs with either a DVD or VCR player.
Our property is one of only three complexes in Maalaea right on a sandy beach. The other seven are on a rocky reef. Many use coin $$ operated laundry rooms (costs you money and you must sit and wait for your clothes). Two properties are right next to the busy Maalaea Harbor with its traffic, boat-engine noise and fumes. One complex doesn't have a pool and a few have distant parking lots forcing you to carry your bags a long ways.
The Kanai A Nalu is considered the best vacation property in Maalaea because of its location and amenities. The street ‘dead-ends’ just beyond us so there is very little traffic, making it quiet and tranquil. It is directly on a beautiful sandy beach, with calming tropical grounds featuring orchids, banana trees and lush green lawns. It has four BBQ's, a pool-side eating area, comfortable chaise lounges and a pool that is heated in winter. We also have a convenient beachside shower so you can rinse off after an ocean swim. Free parking is provided near each condo.
Having a large, ground floor unit, there are no stairs or elevators to deal with. We have our own in-unit washer and dryer and new “remote controlled” air conditioning in addition to the 6 cooling ceiling fans. Even one in each bathroom.
My condo is only 15 steps away from Kealia beach. Beyond our property, it runs parallel to a "Government Protected" Wildlife Refuge. No development is allowed along this coastline because endangered Hawksbill sea turtles lay their eggs here. It becomes Sugar Beach and runs for miles, all the way to Kihei. Take a morning walk on it and you may not run into another person. It's like your own private paradise. This is the most un-crowded beach on Maui. There are tide pools to explore and sea shell to collect. If you want crowds, you'll have to go to Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kihei or Wailea. My children and I purchased this "Absolutely Beach Front" condo and then spent 1,000's of dollars remodeling and upgrading it. We purchased air conditioning, plush carpeting, designer bedding, towels, wall mirrors, lovely decor pieces, decorator ceiling fans, TVs, a DVD & two VCR players, hardware, faucets, lamps, rugs, dishes, patio furniture, beach chairs, new upholstery, wood window blinds and we repainted. We added a $2,600.00 "Sleep Numbers" king size bed. We added Wireless Internet, a new mattress for the Queen Sleeper sofa, new bedding, towels, new rugs, new children's games, sand toys, more movies, boogie boards, beach towels, an umbrella, two wall-mounted hair dryers (one in each bathroom), a crib for infants, and I repainted again.
In the kitchen we added beautiful new countertops, new electric burners, a new toaster oven, new dishtowels and accessories and a custom, bamboo bar front. In the bathrooms we added a new ceiling fan in each one, new rugs, towels, designer molding around the mirrors and new accessories. In the master bedroom we installed a new ceiling fan (the condo has six total), a luxurious new king comforter and 300 ct. sheets, a DVD player, and a safe for your valuables (in master closet). In the second bedroom we installed a new ceiling fan and new thick foam toppers on the twin beds and new soft mattress pads. For all the beds, we bought all new pillows, and sheets. In the living room we added beautiful new plants and designer wall pieces, new paint, and a new mattress on the queen sleeper sofa, plus a new comforter and sheets. For the family we bought new games, sand toys, DVD’s and VHS movies, 3 boogie boards (4 total), beach towels, mats and beach chairs. I also installed a safe for my guest's valuables. I go often to keep the condo updated and beautiful for my family and my guests.
Due to the previous owner being in a wheelchair, the doorways are wider and the master shower is larger than most. Also, the lanai is twice the normal size. He was given permission to enlarge it, to accommodate his wheelchair, plus tables and chairs. It extends beyond the normal lanais, increasing our view even further. It has two tables and six chairs instead of the normal four. With large groups of guests, everyone can be together. Our condo is wheelchair accessible, and handi-cap parking is right out our back door.
We have a full size kitchen with new counter tops, and new stove top, new toaster oven, assorted cookware, utensils, dishes and appliances including a large stove, side-by-side fridge with icemaker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker and our own in-unit washer and dryer.
Also redecorated, the master bath has an over sized (wheelchair accessible), tiled shower with both a wall mounted and a hand held showerhead. The other bathroom has a full size tub, sliding doors and a shower above. They are accented with lovely nickel plated faucets, seashell themed art, plush decorator towels, rugs, and new paint. Both have drying and cooling ceiling fans. Each has a new "hotel quality" wall-mounted hair dryer. Newer ceiling fans and decor.
The drive from the Kahului airport is only 12 minutes on a modern four-lane highway.
