Villa Glad was built in 2005, it sleeps 8 (9) adults and has an extra baby cot.

On the ground floor, this brand new villa has an open-plan dining area, kitchen and living room with a fire place. There are double doors both from the kitchen and the living room onto the 100 square metre sea-facing patio and the 45 square metre swimming pool (depth 1.20 – 1.50 metres with a separate childrens pool area of 0.80 depth). The outside area has an outdoor kitchen with a sink, kitchen worktop and a barbeque/gas grill – in addition to a sofa and marble table under a pergola giving the necessary shade during the heat of the mid-day. On the ground floor is also a double bed room with a separate balcony and a bath-room with a bath tub and a washing machine. On the first floor are two bedrooms. One with a double bed and separate balcony and the other with a double bunk bed and two single beds. The house comfortably sleeps eight adults. In addition, the living room sofa also serves as a single bed. The second bath room upstairs has a shower. The upstairs balcony of 40 square meters has a pergola, tables and sun chairs plus an outside water tap for quick showers - and a magnificent view! All bedrooms plus the kitchen/living room area have AC units. There is a TV and a CD player. The kitchen is fully equipped for in-house dining for 12. Maid service is available upon request, the charge is 50 Euro for each call. The garden (1.290 square metres) contains pear, apricot, peach, citrus, almond and olive trees. The house is well-suited for smaller children. We have a special baby crib for children up to the age of 2. The pool has the special fenced-off water area for children. Of course, this does not mean that children can be left unattended in the pool area. There are children’s toys available for borrowing.

The house is situated some 220 mtrs above sea level with magnificent views over Souda Bay and the Mediterranean - at the edge of the beautiful Apokoronas peninsula. The scenic White Mountains (Lefka Ori) as high as 2,500 metres are in view. Nearby (400 m) is the traditional village of Kokkino Horio (The Red Village) with a taverna with great local foods. The village also has two local kafenions and a small local market where you can buy the necessary food for cooking. 4,5 km away are the sandy beaches of Almerida with more than 20 restaurants, bars and shops. The beach here is very safe for children as it shelves very gently. There are no large hotel resorts, but many small family operated hotels and a quiet environment - which however can provide all the modern facilities.The charming village of Plaka is a pleasant 30 minutes walk away. There are two tavernas, a friendly bar where the locals happily mix with the tourists to pass the time of day, a modern coffee shop with widescreen TV and a minimarket. Buses are available to take you to other parts of the island, as are taxis, and the major town of Hania is only 20 km away and well worth a visit to the attractive Venetian harbour. However, it is strongly recommended to have the extra budget for a rental car – it gives you much more flexibility, and will increase the value of your stay. To reserve the house, we require a deposit of 30% of the price. We have special rates for visitors wishing to stay three weeks or more. Prices 2008
