You will love Maison Rose. It is close to Pezenas and Montpellier, surrounded by vineyards, a delightful two bed roomed gite set in beautiful gardens and with a large swimming pool. The changeover day is Thursday allowing you to take advantage of cheaper flights or less traffic.
Maison Rose is a modern gite furnished to a high standard. The gite is in the grounds of the owner’s own holiday home which they use for a few weeks each year and overlooks the delightful swimming pool which is available for use by guests and is only shared with the owners when they are there. It is in a rural setting but is only 10 minutes drive from the beautiful medieval town of Pezenas.
The accommodation (The gite is on the first floor level, the ground floor being just a storage area). Large sitting room/dining room with comfortable sofa and chairs, buffet, dining table & chairs and UK satellite television. This room has a balcony, which overlooks the gardens and swimming pool. Fully fitted kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. Double bedroom with en suite bathroom and toilet Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet Outside there is a private terrace with table, chairs and a barbeque for those lovely al-fresco meals. Sit here in the morning with a fresh coffee, and smell the wild herbs and flowers, which abound in this area. The large swimming pool is fully enclosed and is surrounded by shrubs and flowers. Within the pool enclosure is another large terrace with sunbeds, table and chairs. The whole garden has an air of peace and tranquillity. The pool is of substantial size with roman steps for easy access and is fully fenced. There is a small poolside kitchen and a separate toilet and shower. The property is not near any main road and therefore relaxing by the pool is a superb experience. The village has a general provisions shop and a bar/bistro which is a 10 minute stroll from Maison Rose and which serves excellent French cuisine. The Area Maison Rose is ideally set for exploring the region and visiting the historic towns and villages that bring so much rustic charm to this colourful region. Or for lovers of wildlife, spend the day exploring the Camargue with its abundance of exotic birds and wild horses. For the sun worshippers, there is a choice of golden beaches all within easy reach. There are many colourful fêtes and local events, which take place in the summer months to give you a true flavour for the region. Local tourist offices provide a wide variety of information on places of interest and a summer programme of spectacles and
Events.
Pezenas
Only 6km away is the medieval town of Pezenas. Here you can explore the winding cobbled streets and can watch local craftsmen blowing glass, making jewellery or potting the local brightly coloured Provencal ceramics. After a morning of discovering the arts and crafts gift shops and artists galleries you will be ready to drop into one of Pezenas's many colourful cafes and restaurants either in the old town square or tucked away in the many ancient twisting alleyways. Saturday is market day and Pezenas offers a wealth of local produce, flower stalls, and colourful clothing accompanied by the sounds of jazz or local folk groups
Cap d’Agde Cap d'Agde has some 14 kilometres of fine beaches and many attractions for the children like 'Toonland' and the famous 'Aqualand' with its giant flumes, water slides and wave machine as well as a super 'tots area' for the very young. As well as beaches, there are beautiful lakes, mountains and gorges within one hours drive. The area has large numbers of medieval towns and villages to visit including Pezenas, St Guilhem-le-Desert and the Cite of Carcassonne. Just over hours drive will take you to the heart of 'Cathar' country with its imposing castles and monastries such as Montsegur and Queribus. Plenty of activities are to be found near to us including golf, horse Riding, sailing, fishing and tennis. For the more adventurous the Spanish border can be reached in about 90 minutes and a further hour takes you to Barcelona.
