Las Vigas - Akumal Villa Neil J. from Jundiai, Sao Paolo recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2013 Las Vigas is located on the KalKu caleta with direct access to the caleta and ocean from the property. The property itself is extremely private due to the well stocked and maintained gardens. THe caretakers (Mercedes and Alex) are wonderful people, very friendly and helpful - Mercedes is also a wonderful cook - try her Cochinita Pibil. The villa itself has a very traditional Mexican feel which I enjoyed tremendously. I would recommend this holiday villa to anyone - at the end of our stay we were very sad to be leaving a wonderfully tranquil and beautiful place. For night time activities go up to the roof after dark, sit back in one of the loungers and stare at the sky on a clear night - the display provided by the night sky stars will amaze you. We are regular visitors to the Cancun/Riviera Maya area and will be back to this villa again soon. |

The view, the pool, the rooftop, the kitchen, everything. Akumal was exactly what we needed with great restaurants in a casual environment (Lol Ha!). Massages on the deck by the pool were amazing. Nothing could beat the dinners we had at the house - the biggest grilled lobster tails we'd ever seen and Mercedes' flan is amazing. Some reviews fault the grill or the stereo - there's a new gas grill or the charcoal grill that works great (you see it in the pics). The stereo played songs from my iPhone perfectly. On the day we were leaving, the love of my life looked at me and said "this is the best vacation I've ever had." I couldn't agree more. |

The view from the pool and patio was just beautiful. Akumal is a quiet little slice of heaven tucked away from the commercial noise of Cancun. It is well worth the drive down, so rent your own car. We always felt safe and secure wherever we went in the area and found the people very friendly. We highly recommend a trip to provision/shop in Playa Del Carmen, a day on the beach in Akumal near Lol-Ha restaurant, and of course happy hour at La Buena Vida! Las Vigas, we will be back! |
