The house is in Sfruz a typical alpine village, one of the highest of the valley, situated on a green plateau between Mount Roen and Corno di Tres. It is also one of the oldest villages of the Val di Non.
The Val di Non is situated in the north west of Trentino and the river Noce crosses it. This large area of Trentino has a particular morphological conformation: a succession of three tablelands separated by deep gorges and ravines with waterways flowing through them.
The deepest basin in the valley, near Cles, is occupied by Lago di Santa Giustina, an artificial reservoir created by a dam of the same name. Valle di Non is widely known for the quality of its apples. The apple orchards are also the predominant feature of the countryside and make a really spectacular picture at blossom time. The surrounding mountains, such as the Maddalene chain, the Brenta Group, Roen and Peller, give an alpine "touch" to the panorama of the valley. Valle di Tovel, branching off Valle di Non, deeply penetrates the Brenta Dolomite Group and lies within the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. Lago di Tovel, one of the most beautiful and charming lakes in Trentino, lies in an enchanting position at the end of the valley.
On account of its special rock formations, the Valle di Non has recently become know as Valley of Canyons; visiting the area means you can see and enjoy to the full the fascinating combination of nature and culture mad avaiable to guests.
There are many visible traces of the valley´s history as the many castles, palazzos, mansions, frescoed houses and holy buildings. Among the latter, the ancient sanctuary of San Romedio is well worth a visit.
