Don't miss coming to incredible Deep Cove Anchorage. Chester Race Week August 2011! Just a short drive from Chester and less than an 45 minutes from downtown Halifax you will find The Anchorage at Deep Cove...traditional, carefree seaside living. Our properties are privately owned. We are cautious not to confirm a rental until we are assured of availability from the owners. Each home is unique and we try to acquaint you with each one so your summer holiday is just what you expect. The Deep Cove area itself is one of remarkably undisturbed beauty perhaps attributable to the fact that much of the area was a part of the estate of the late industrialist and philanthropist, Cyrus Eaton.
The Aspotogan Peninsula, also known as the Blandford Peninsula, is a peninsula in the eastern part of Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, which juts from the South Shore into the Atlantic Ocean. To the east of the peninsula is St. Margaret's Bay while to the west is Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg.
The coast of the peninsula is dotted with a number of small fishing and tourist-related communities; Hubbards in the northeast being the largest. Other communities on the peninsula are Fox Point, Mill Cove, Northeast Cove, North West,Aspotogan, Bayswater, New Harbour, Blandford, Upper Blandford, Deep Cove, and East River. Highway 329 circles the peninsula along the coast while Highway 3 and Highway 103 pass to the north.
The Unesco town of Lunenburg is a short 35 minutes drive, and the most pictured Lighthouse in Canada is at Peggy's Cove, less than 1 hour from Deep Cove.
Enjoy the eagles, and the osprey soaring in our sky's, or take a morning kayak on Deep Cove to enjoy the scenery, and the birds. At night sit out on the patio deck overlooking the cove, and look up at the stars, which seem larger and brighter at Deep Cove.
Enjoy a hike, or a bicycle tour on the Aspotogen Peninsula.
