A guest from Burnaby, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in March, 2015 We were also in this unit one year ago. We love the spaciousness as well as the reliable breezes (so no a/c required). However we noticed quite a few more "significant" insects this year compared to last year. Am assuming this year it had been longer since the latest fumigation. We still enjoyed our vacation but would consider taking our chances with a different unit next time.
A guest from Idaho Springs, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2015 The Condo was comfortable, however there were several issues that were a concern. Tiny ants on the kitchen counter tops and bathroom floor. Two cockroaches running about. I drowned one inthe bathroom toilet. Finding one roach with the pots and pans is disconcerting. Also, the screen door latch would catch and it would take about two minutes to unlock the front door due to the tumblers being corroded or worn out. The hide away bed bed mattress was worn out and needs to be replaced. I reversed my body position with my head where my feet were supposed to be so my head wouldn't be in a down hill position. Otherwise other aspects of the condo were satisfactory. I would recommend the property if the above issues were addressed.
A guest from Tacoma, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2014 The unit itself was very dirty. We found numerous live cockroaches and huge ones at that. They were residing in the drawers where silverware was stored so we had to wash all dishes before using them. The light fixtures were caked in dead bugs and we had to clean a lot to feel a basic level of comfort. Very disappointing.
Sandy S. from El Cajon, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2013 The mgt. company was great, timely response for any requests. Location was excellent, right on golf course. Very clean.
A guest from Santa Rosa, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in August, 2013 Great location, ac might be a good addition to the front room for those days without trade winds, clean, comfortable, convenient as I work in Kapolei. Kitchen clean and well stocked with necessary utensils. Great to have washer and dryer. Close to nice beach area. BBQ needs repair.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 I was moved into this condo before we got there because the washer in the one we rented wasn't working. It was nice, clean, and the a/c in the room was appreciated for the warmer nights. I was only here a couple of nights but would gladly stay here again.
yesenia o. from Ewa beach, oahu does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 It was ok, the condo needs upgrades windows screens had holes and lot mosquitos inside, we stayed there for a weekend kitchen had thisbig roaches we killed like 4 the first night. We tried to call the emergency number that they gave me but nobody answer due to being a holiday weekend. Place is nice decorated but definetely needs upgrads and pest control
Reviewed by: Michael G. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2013 I rented this place at $259 a night for two nights for our honeymoon. We were exhausted and just wanted to veg out, watch tv and relax. First off, there was only one tv in the rental, in the living room, and it was a early 90's tv that was only about 19inches big. There was no tv in the bedroom and we had to move the couch all the way up in the living room to see the tiny tv!Second, it sounded like the people in the unit above us were roller skating! I called the 24hour emergency number to find out what they could do and they didn't call me back for two hours (good thing the unit wasn't flooding!). They then said to just call security if it continued. It was not worth the money we paid for no decent tvs and no peace and quiet.I explained this to the property management company and they refused to do anything about it.
A guest from astoria, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2012 It was my second time at turtle bay. Love the location and convenient access to the north shore beaches. Property was clean and well maintained.
Keith B. from San Lorenzo, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2012 If you don't mind bugs crawling on the counter tops then you're ok.If you want to have a good time don't stay here because the up stairs people are obviously in bed by 8:00 and complain about everything!!!
A guest from Boulder Creek, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2012 Everything was good with our stay at the Estates. The reasons below are why the property was a 4 star overall stay instead of a 5 star. They did spray the second day during our stay there and I then had 3 cockroaches to deal with; 1 dead and two alive to remove. The condo did not have a hairdryer which I find as a standard in any hotel or place you stay.
A guest from Cedar Hills, Utah recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in March, 2011 The occasional heliocoter take-offs and landings interfered with phone calls, but otherwise a great place and time.
Gordon H. from Beaverdam, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in January, 2011 I enjoyed the condo and I have stayed at Turtle Bay Estates at least 5 times in the past few years. The only problem is the cost is getting more expensive and over what I am allowed to pay with the employer. I used to get a better discount, but this last visit was the highest rent I have paid and was over my allowance. If this continues I will have to use the hotel. I hope the discounts and costs will be reviewed and I can use the condos in the future.
A guest from Lions Head, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2010 The accommodation was quite good, with a nice view of the 18th green, easily accessible location from the highway, close to the golf Pro Shop, and a short walk to the Turtle Bay Resort. Staff at the Property Mgt office were helpful and accommodating, and we would recommend others to use this company for booking a Turtle Bay condo.... and will do so ourselves, again.
Sally J. from Pao Robles, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2009 We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect, and we could sit on the lanai and watch the golfers go by. The only thing that didn't work was the second bathroom's shower.
Sally T. from Newberry, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2009 My mom and I stayed here while on vacation July 2009 and were very pleased with the property! When we were looking for a place to stay, we were hesistant to book online because we had never been there and did not know anyone else who had stayed there. However, we loved it and will definitely stay again when we return to Hawaii to visit!:)
A guest from Sandia Park, NM recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2008 We thought that we would be missing out by staying at the condos instead of the resort it self. But after our week long stay we feel it was just the opposite. We were able to experience the best parts of the resort (i.e. the restaurants and the beach) while enjoying the financial savings and the extra space and comfort of the condo. We particularly liked the access to the washer and drier and the 2 separate full bathrooms. The kitchen was also a feature we would not have been able to enjoy at the resort. The condo was quiet and comfortable and made for a great night of rest after a days worth of beach and sight seeing. The condo was very well maintained and we would recommend it to anyone going to North Shore.condo #147east
Rachel W. from Waialua, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2008 The only thing we were unhappy with was the AC unit. It would not cool below 76-77 degrees and was very hot! Please fix!
A guest from West Valley City, UT recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2008 Before our stay I read several reviews. Some were great and some were bad. Naturally I was nervous if we got a good condo or not. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of our condo. I was also worried about bugs which turned out to be no problem.
Anthony B. from Anchorage, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2008 !47 East was our first stay at TB Estates. We were on honeymoon and after a few exhausting days in Honolulu we headed up to the NS. We checked in with the ladies at the Sugar Mill and they were both helpful and accommodating. They found that we could check in early and provided us with the appropriate gate and door keys and the appropriate instructions. The condo itself was immaculate and stocked with all of the wares on would expect. What was not expected were the beach chairs, a great add on with the wonderful beach that the resort provides. Get there early to secure a complimentary umbrella. The snorkeling is placid and provides plenty of sea life to make it exciting. Evenings were spent at the condo's lanai furnished with table and chairs and overlooking the championship golf course. Sunset cocktails at the Turtle Bay pool bar and off to Lei Leis for perfectly done seafood and ribs, all an easy walk from 147. If you are interested in a late night dip or prefer grilling to retaurants, each set of units has a tranquil pool and BBQ area for guests. Check the email on the free internet connection in the unit and relax to cable TV if your not quite ready to take advantage of the immaculate sleeping accommodations in a well appointed king bed suite. Drives to the world famous surf spots are only 15 minutes and a few more to the laid back yet bustling North Shore hub of Haleiwa town. Check out on our final day was bittersweet but seamless with a drop box at the Turtle Bay Estates office.
A guest from Winnipeg, Manitoba does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2008 Though this was a very nice property, we found that the condo was not as nice as we expected. There were ants in the main bedroom (on the dresser), as well as in the kitchen. We also found that the condo was not overly kid friendly, with very high chairs, that we dangerous for our youngster to sit on. Also, there were only two chairs at the eating counter (not great for a family of 4). I am sure that this would be a great place to stay for two adults, but not a young family. The ants definitely need to be dealt with, though.
Property Manager Response:
Ants are definitely a problem in Hawaii, and are very difficult to control, even trying as hard as we do. It is very important to keep all food, even crumbs, off the counters. Wiping with Windex often is a big help.
Matt C. from Beaverton, OR does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2008 Great location, generally clean, though I found a huge dead cockroach in the bathroom the first day, the towells smelled like they were moldy, and the pillows were really uncomfortable, they were huge! ...had major neck cramps every morning so ended up just sleeping without one. The manager was super nice though, I forgot my passport in the room so she had to come back to the room to let me in, saved my trip!
Cheryl C. from Sacramento, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2008 My husband and I booked this place - "last minute" and had a wonderful time - we will absolutely be repeat clients! Thanks so much.
A guest from Thousand Oaks, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2007 Great location overlooking the 18th hole on the golf course and a very close walk to a very protected beach site by the Turtle Bay Hotel. The only dining furniture was on the patio and since that was open to the elements, was rather dirty. But we did enjoy our meals there watching the golfers go by. The furnishings very nice, clean and comfortable. You felt like you were at home. The kitchen cookware was not desirable - old, mismatched and very used. Did not mind the BBQ location over by the pool area but since you had to use wood/charcoal we didn't bother to use. Gas would have been much more convenient. Would definitely return, maybe try a unit on the West side next time.
Jay Koder- Connie Jefferies K. from Vancover, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2007 We came to Turtle Bay to be married, and honey moon there because we love your area. But the stay was so bad, we called off the wedding. Earth shaking construction started early each morning and continued all day, making it impossible to carry on a conversation without yelling at one another. Retreating to the back deck was ruined by noisy ground keepers with loud machinery, and drunken golf parties. We have rescheduled our wedding plans but don't know about the honey moon. We had always dreamedof Turtle Bay.
Lorianne S. from Honolulu, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2007 I have been staying at this facility every April for the last 3 years. The rooms were very clean. I love all the amenities...full kitchen with dishes and utensils for cooking and washer/dryer in the unit.
