A guest from Tecumseh, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2015 Fantastic Location close to all North Shore Beaches, very clean and comfortable unit. Unit is exactly as pictured. Key pickup and drop off was easy. Security deposit returned in full within days
A guest from danville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2014 Its a great condo with more space than expected. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers - the loft with 2 double beds and 3 bathrooms were perfect. The condo is very nice and located about a 5 minute walk from the beach at turtle bay. Easy to find and very quiet. The negatives, the sheets didn't fit the beds and easily came off and there is no blow dryer. The two window air conditioners didn't really cool the condo down at night but by the 3rd night we really didn't need them. Try the food trucks to the north, the food is amazing and reasonably priced.
Paulette M. from North Vancouver, British Columbia recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in April, 2014 We have stayed at Kuilima now for nine years. Its location on the North Shore is perfect. Our favourite beaches, Sunset and Waimea, to swim in or watch the surf are a short drive away. The mature gardens surrounding Kuilima are beautiful.I love listening to all the birds and the Hawaiian breezes.
Robert H. from Gibbons, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in April, 2014 Unsure what to expect upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find a very well equipped home in a great location. The resort is very well kept and the condo is in a great location near the is a 5 minute walk to the beach with a sheltered reef area to play in.There are many great beaches to explore a short car ride away from the resort as well as local shopping.A great place to stay !!
Felt right at home! Would stay there again without a doubt!
A guest from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2014 Brought our 10 month old baby with us and staying here made it so much easier to travel with an infant. Plenty of space and very nice accommodations! Everything we needed was there!
A guest from Lansing, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2014 The quality of furniture, supplies was much above the standard rental items in Hawaii. Made one feel comfortable living. Also mature vegetation (flowering) made it real Hawaii.
A guest from Chugiak, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in January, 2014 My family and I have stayed at Kuilima twice before this visit starting in 2000. My husband, myself, my 18-year-old daughter, and her best friend all stayed in 28W for the first time and would recommend this condo. The prices are reasonable, close to Turtle Bay, and relatively close to beautiful North Shore beaches, as well as the quieter beaches on the windward side of the island. Also close to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was clean (except for under the couch), and had very few bugs (a few ants on the counter and sink if we weren't careful with clean up the night before). We enjoyed the decor, and the artwork was great (good job owner!). All of the televisions were also nice (3 flat screens!), and having 3 bathrooms was handy. The coffee maker and dryer had issues, but these were quickly remedied by property management (thank you!). The only thing I would say is to be careful on the stairs to the loft. The tread is narrow and slippery due to the carpet. Both of the girls slipped multiple times, even when aware and cautious. My daughter slipped and luckily caught herself, but bumped her elbow pretty badly. The only other thing I would say is about Kuilima in general. The property is very well maintained, and still beautiful, but is somewhat dated. I think adding hot tubs to the pool areas would be a great attribute to the property. Also, we found the 9pm shutdown of the pools a little bit early. I think 10pm would be more reasonable. I do realize that people live in these condos, but there are lots of people on vacation!
Sally C. from San Diego, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2013 Great location outside the bustle of Honolulu! The air conditioner in the living room is a little inadequate or not working properly, however, the unit was very nice overall with 3 beds (1 bedroom and loft) and 3 bathrooms. Close to resort, beaches and other North Shore sites.
Rachel M. from Annandale, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2013 Had a great stay in this condo. There was plenty of space for my friend and I. We had a great view of the golf course and ate on the screened in lanai each morning. Beautiful.
A guest from los Gatos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 The location was great. Walking distance to the beach and Turtle Bay Resort. Condo was nicely decorated, kitchen well stocked, place was clean on arrival. According to our kids, the two twin beds were uncomfortable and it was warm in the loft. Apparently having 3 bathrooms increased the cleaning cost. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the price was quite reasonable.
A guest from Mililani, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 The condo was very clean and a wonderful place to stay at. All of my expectations were met and I did not encounter any unwanted surprises. The only small issue we had was with the free parking that was available. We had a confusion with which stall to park in because there was nothing available to tell us. It would have been more convenient to have had instructions to park in the guest parking stalls, because we assumed that the stall we should park in was the one that had a matching number to our room. We were then confronted and told that our car would get towed if we didn't move it. This came as a shock since we believed we were in the appropriate stall the entire time. Things worked out in the end, but a simple inclusion of instructions, maybe with the welcome package, could have saved us and the property personnel some trouble.Other than that, the stay was great and I would definitely return here if a North Shore stay is desired again.
Subbu V. from SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 Our stay was for 3 days in July. The unit is quite spacious and accommodates 4 very comfortably. The presence of a Washer/dryer is useful. Generally, the complex is nice and well spread out, with a very swimmable beach close by. As we had access to facilties of the Resort, there were many options for "entertaining" ourselves. There is also a pleasant hike to Kahuku point. Drawbacks: nearest grocery is 15 km away. The Resort does not look kindly on you using their deck chairs..and umbrellas.
Property Manager Response: Response from The Estates at Turtle Bay, Inc. We are not affiliated with the Turtle Bay Resort. Our condos are on a residential property, and privately owned. No exchange amenenities are offered by the hotel.
Amy W. from Simpsonville, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 There simply are not sufficient words to describe this vacation! Turtle Bay was heaven on earth!! The condo was perfect for our family. The condo is decorated very nicely bringing in a tropic feel throughout. The water pressure of the showers is outstanding!!!! We will absolutely stay here again!!! The only negative is the lift gets a little hot. Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us!
A guest from Saint Cloud, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2013 The condo is very nice and well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay a memorable and comfortable one. There were four of us on this trip. The condo lanai overlooks the golf course and the grounds are well maintained. The location of the condo is perfect and provides a peaceful sanctuary. We enjoyed the pool where we grilled steaks and fish. The grills require charcoal, no gas grill available which was not a problem for us. There are grocery stores close by to shop for essentials. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this condo to anyone looking for reasonably priced accommodations. The photos you see on the website show the condo exactly as it is. The beds were comfortable and having 3 bathrooms was a plus. And we did not see any bugs!!
Paulette M. from North Vancouver, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in April, 2013 We have enjoyed staying at Kuilima for a few years. I especially love the beautiful gardens that surround this complex of well keeped townhomes. The scent of all the different plumerias, the numerous gardenias and the sound of the birds and hawaiian breezes in the palms are magical.
beautiful unit with a great view of the golf course
Evaristo T. from Wahiawa, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 Marilyn the reservationist for turtle bay rentals was such a great help. I told her why we were wanting to stay. What she recommended gave such a great view and easy access to the golf course within minutes from the unit by walking. (unit 28) i"d recommend this unit to other friends and family, and look froward to renting this unit again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality and beautiful unit.
A guest from McMinnville, Oregon recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 We have stayed at the Estates at Turtle Bay several times--it has become our favorite place to stay on Oahu. We have family on North Shore, and it is convenient to Laie, where we do most of our gatherings. Recently, we were scheduled to stay there while attending the funeral of a dear cousin who had passed away. The morning we were to leave Oregon, we received the awful news that our 20 day old grandson had died of apparent SIDS in Salt Lake City. Instead of flying to Hawaii, we immediately drove to Utah to attend that funeral and grieve with our family. In the chaos, I forgot to call the Estates to tell them we weren't coming that day. I remembered the next day, and they were very compassionate and kind, and informed me we would receive a full refund. I was very surprised and very grateful. We highly recommend them for this reason, and others including reasonable price, quality of lodgings, and many amenities. Thanks to them, we saw someone doing something good and kind at a very difficult time for us. It is a beautiful place.
A guest from Rigby, ID recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2013 We loved our stay at Turtle Bay 28 west. I don't know how the other condos looked but this one was so beautifully decorated, so clean, kitchened wonderfully stocked (spices, tons of tools to cook with, blender, mixing bowls, etc.) Our children loved having their own beds in the loft above. AC units were great to have when it became a little hot. The pool in the unit was just feet from us. The walking distance to the beach wasn't too far, definitely less than a mile. Beautiful view of the golf course while you eat breakfast/dinner. You can use the turtle beach, so great for kids and for snorkeling. So nice to be away from the busy city and yet not too isolated. We'd love to stay here again. We left our beach toys (bucket, shovel, etc) hopefully that will help others. Thanks for a great Oahu stay!
A guest from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2013 Great condo, nice art, exceptionally well-stocked kitchen. Enjoyed our stay, only wish the weather had been better during our week.
A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2012 The location was convenient for North Shore activities. I've read several reviews regarding ant infestations at other Turtle Bay condos, but this unit was scrupulously clean. Our stay was very pleasant. The space comfortably accommodated my wife and two college-age girls. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, or to recommend it to friends.
Kathy M. from Redondo Beach, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2012 The Estates at Turtle Bay are a wonderful place to stay. The condos are very comfortable and the location is fabulous. Within the resort are great restaurants and beautiful beaches.
A guest from Elk Grove, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 The property was perfect. Much better than any hotel you could stay at. The only issues were the ants and spotted 1 cockroach but somewhat expected due to the environment and climate. Very well maintained and beautifully decorated.
A guest from Ft Wainwright, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2012 This was a great property close to the pool without having to hear the pool. Also the golf course was pretty to look at while on the balcony. Also the beach was close enough to walk to for a nice walk or easy to drive to also! Overall it was a great stay that was super fun!
Reviewed by: Mary P. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2012 My husband I recently stayed in Kuilima 28 West at the Turtle Bay Condos. While we really didn't need the two bedrooms and three bathrooms for us, it would be a super value for larger parties. Having a loft prevents hearing overhead "footsteps" and gives an airy feel to the unit. There are two flatscreen TVs, each with a DVR recorder.....a big plus. The lanai is smaller than we are used to. However, it is furnished with a nice small table and a great chaisse lounge. The lanai is screened in so bugs don't invade the space. But,we prefer an open lanai so as not to feel so closed in. The bed was super comfortable and the flow through breezes divine! No need for A/C on this visit. One of the 3 pools is just outside the unit. Each week one of the pools is designated "adults only", which is great!! However, during our stay this one wasn't "adults only" so we heard some squealing of children enjoying the pool. If that doesn't bother you, the pool is very convenient. However, if you don't want to hear children, you may consider this. The master bedroom is closest to the pool.Overall the unit was furished well, very clean, and had a nice view of the golf course.Only negative was that it is supplied with "bare bones" supplies. We even had to buy our own salt and pepper. No plastic wrap, nice soaps, etc. Since this is rented by a property management service we new it wouldn't be supplied as a unit rented by an owner. our opinion there should have been basic kitchen condiments.
A guest from Kulispall, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2012 The showers were awesome. There was a problem with internet connection that was slow getting resolved. It was a very beautiful spot.
decio p. from Sao Paulo, Brazil recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2010 We love the condo decoration very nice and practice, only the TV sets are kind of old, a small oven for sandwichs would be helpfull. There is no one from the manegement at the property, some people that work there love to be rude, and simple say they dont work for you. Who they work for? If you rent a property I believe you earn some of the rights of the owner also. But it is OK don't worry be happy
Jeremy J. from Logan, UT recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in September, 2010 We have stayed at Turtle Bay in various condos many times over the past two years while we have been working on the Laie LDS Temple. Every time the properties have been great. This particular time were staying in Laie at another contractor's apartment but had to find another place at the last minute because some more of their workers showed up and they needed the space. I immediately drove to Kahuku and got this unit at 4 pm that day. Maralyn was very kind to stay a little late to wait for me. Since we rented at the last possible minute of the day, the unit was not spotless (it was very clean, though) but we understood and it suited our needs fine. The AC worked well enough to cool the loft down and everything was in good working condition. I would highly recommend staying here and really appreciate all the help that Susan and Maralyn have given us over the past two years as we've rented various units.
Edmund T. from Aiea, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2010 our family members were very happy with our stay, the convenience and the cleaness of the surroundings. Family members came from the mainland and other islands and they stated their gratification of everything. I will reccomend others that may be looking for a place like yours.Aloha, Ed & Gladys
Jackson W. from HONOLULU, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2010 front door needs to be secured, screen door doesnt work with front door layout, screen door auto closer delay needs to be adjusted.
A guest from Honolulu, HI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2010 Several tractors were mowing the lawn outside the window at 5AM. I requested a quiet place and I was not told about this. The floor was dirty and I had to clean it.
A guest from Calgary, Alberta recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2009 Comments for further action by the Estates at Turtle Bay, Inc.1. I requested early check in as I am travelling w/ elderly parents and a small child. One parent is a stroke patient who tires easily and needed to rest. I was told to come back at 3 p.m. I would have liked to have been accomodated with this request.2. The front screen door's deadbolt wouldn't open. Jammed. As a result, we were locked inside the condo. Friendly staff freed us eventually.3. A working deadbolt on the front door is essential. The current deadbolt doesn't work at all. The only locking mechanism on the front door is a simple one. I didn't feel safe.4. My elderly father slipped and fell in the bathtub as no bath mats were in the condo unit. A bath mat would have prevented him from slipping and falling. We were provided with bath mats the following day. Bath mats should be kept in the unit to prevent slipping and falling.5. An electric kettle would be preferable. The stove kettle is dangerous. Easy to burn oneself using this type of kettle as the hot water splashes out.Positive comments:1. Good location. Be sure to try fruit from nearby fruit stands, and fresh shrimp from the shrimp trucks. I recommend the coconut shrimp from Tony's.Close to beautiful beaches. Two Foodland stores nearby.2. Friendly staff available if you need maintenance work done. He fixed the bathroom shower head in the bathroom adjacent to the bedroom on the first floor, as well as the jammed deadbolt so we could leave the condo unit.3. Quiet.(except for the lawnmowers that started at 5:30am, it was very quiet).4. Lovely golf course view.5. Very handy to have washer and dryer in the condo unit.6. Nice to have free internet connection.7. Beach toys, body boards, beach towels and umbrella for use. Thanks!
Janelle C. from Waianae, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2009 My husband wanted to drive all the way back just to was such a pleasant stay. We will be back in the near future! Mahalo Nui Loa!
Dana M. from Clayton, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in January, 2009 The condo was in great condition and the kitchen was fully equiped with everything we needed. We enjoyed the upgraded kitchen. Since we have stayed in these condos before, we were surprised and annoyed that the garbage trucks arrived every morning at 5am and woke everyone up. They normally came twice a week, so I'm not sure why all of a sudden they were there daily. We plan to arrive on a different month next time.
A guest from North Haven, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in December, 2008 We found unit 28 to be in good conditionand loved the location. BTW the flashlights and candles came in handy!!! Thank the ownwers
A guest from Kailua, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2008 Overall our entire stay at this property was great! However my only complaint would have to be how uncomfortable the beds were. Both beds were king size which was one of the reasons for renting this particular property but they were so hard. All in all we couldn't ask for more from the property (i.e. anything we needed was provided) and would rent this same property again however next time we will know to bring some extra padding for the bedding in order to get a good night sleep!
Our biggest issues involved noise. The garbage truck came well before 7 a.m. The maintenance workers were mowing the golf cour
A guest from Northbrook, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2008 Lastly, a family with several small children came in our last night and began talking and screaming loudly by 6 or 6:30 a.m. the next morning (thankfully, our last). Our second floor view was great for watching the golfers.
Over all the condo was nicely decorated, clean and in good condition. The a/c in the living room was undersize for the space and
Grant N. from Waipahu, HI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2008 sparked when I tried to plug it in. When I checked out on a Sunday the office was closed and no one to help you. We had a family reunion and many of the other units a/c failed and were not fixed, couple of reservations were cancelled and had to stay at other units farther away than had originally planned. My unit was nice, but the other units were not well maintained, electrical, a/c units failed, all the a/c units were too small. For the money, it was not worth the saving. I will spend the money for a better maintained place to stay.
A guest from Ketchikan, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2008 Great location the pool is out back, the beach is a short walk up the street, a major grocery store is a short drive and there is a restaurant to the side of you at the golf coarse. The condo was very spacious, clean, and well kept. Any item you may not of been able the pack for the beach or pool you can find in the closet. Large washer/dryer, internet, tv. We were only there for a few days and had more then we needed!
Corey G. from Wapato, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2007 The only thing we didn't really like was the fact that we battle ants during our whole stay. They were on the counters, on the floor, on the wall, under the sink--everywhere! This little problem really needs to get fixed.
