Great location - away from big beach
Alina S. from Danville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2015 Loved this house! Nestled under plenty of trees which allows for plenty of shade. House is located 3 blocks from the playground & small beach. There is also an entertainment room downstairs (that has a strong odor of mold). Has a basket ball hoop, ping pong, and air hockey + a tv with plenty of channels. The $75 charge for towels and sheets is kind of annoying. The sheets make sense (because who wants to bring a bunch of their own sheets for every bed) but the towels are garbage. There was also no hand soap, no dishwashing soap, no laundry detergent, no sponges. Also, the tv in the living room did not work.
Rindy W. from Vacaville, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2015 Overall we had a nice time but there were several hiccups in our stay. First there was no access to the game room located downstairs without going outside. This was inconvenient because we wanted to allow our children to go play but could not do this without also going outside with them. Also the swimming pool mentioned it NOT anywhere near the rental house. I felt this was misleading because it does not say in the description that the pool is a 5-7 minute drive away from the house. Smaller details included that we could not get the DVD player to work. There appeared to be no matching remote controls. So we could not play the movies we brought. The shower door would not close and overall the place was a bit dirty with hair all over the carpet and our feet got dirty walking around barefoot. Very nice place if the details were more specific and if it was fixed up though.
Vladimir K. from Tarzana, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2015 Went the same house for second year in row. Stayed nine nights this time. House was very cleaned and fully furnished. Unfortunately there no internet or wifi offered, so be prepaired if you need one. Kitchen should have little bit more cooking pots, specially if you staying long with family. Would want to stay in the same house again. Management company was at best all the time, if you need anything.
Basia M. from Redwood City, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2015 The location was perfect for us - walking distance to the lake and playground on a fairly quiet street. The house is spacious and has a pretty good layout - we were there with another family and it didn't feel crowded at all.The game room is only accessible from the outside so that can be a little inconvenient. The major negative of this was the kitchen equipment - it was less than basic, with very few pots/pans, some random utensils and barely enough cups for 8 people. Fine if you're not planning on cooking anything, but somewhat frustrating. The management company was easy to deal with and pretty responsive.
Shankar S. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2015 We, group of 7 friends, including one couple stayed here for 2 nights. We enjoyed staying here. It was clean and nice. Small issues were there like tv remotes not working, ping pong bats were bad etc but that was fine for us.
Sharon G. from Homestead, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2014 We really liked this house. It was spacious and very clean. The heater worked well, the linens were clean and there were plenty of warm blankets. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils as well as new appliances. Unfortunately, we discovered the recreation room just as we were leaving, but we got in a few minutes of fun. All in all, everyone loved the place. The only thing I would recommend is for the owners to buy a good quality, non-stick frying pan. I had to cook pancakes one at a time in the only pan that didn't stick or was scratched up and it was tiny.
Kevin M. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 The house was at a good location, walking distance to the lake. It was clean and had everything we needed, and spacious enough for 8 of us.The master shower though had ants crawling out from the corners, the dishwasher didn't work and spilled water out onto the kitchen's floor. The game room smelled old and moldy so we didn't spend too much time in there.Overall it was a good time at the house.
A guest from Plymouth, Minnesota does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 We were happy with the location but dissatisfied with many other things. We had to put on the sheets on bed. The oven did not work. The TV remote did not work. There was no soap or shampoo in bathroom. There were cobwebs around the windows .The table tennis did not have a net.The surroundings in house was peaceful and beautiful though.
Rianna S. from Oakland, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 This is a good house- lots of space (we had two families with little kids, no problem), cute game room and comfortable beds. The big deck is also nice for hanging out and eating. The kitchen was a little "sparse" (i.e. very few glasses, no lids for pots), but nothing you couldn't get creative to figure out. The game room couch needs replacing or serious cleaning, and the oven had issues, but I am sure the rental company will see to those issues ASAP, as they seem very responsive.
A guest from Bellmont, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 We rented this house for 4 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty of room for all of us. It is a nice house except the kitchen is not equipped well at all. If you intend to cook even simple things - bring your own pots and pans. There was plenty of plates though...Rebecca from the rental agency was very helpful. Cable TV did not work in the living room... only in the game room. Game room was a big plus!!!
Angela H. from Martinez, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in July, 2014 This home had potential, but the owners have a long way to go to make this home more welcome and clean. Would not recommend to anyone until they make some improvements, including but not limited to new paint, furniture, updating small appliances, stocking kitchen & game room. The location was great, which is why the home had potential.
A guest from Barstow, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 I could not have been more pleased with the property. Even though we had neighbors, the house is nestled with a grove of trees that give the feel of being secluded. Early morning coffee was a pleasure as we watched down from the balcony at the deer graze in the field across the street. Sleeping arrangements were fantastic. Being located within walking distance to the clubhouse and beach was more convenience than expected. I will definitely be renting this house again in the future! Thank you Pine Mountain Custom Rentals for this amazing opportunity.
A guest from san jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 The house was nice to stay. The only issue was that the pots and pans were pretty outdated. Nonstick coating was not even visible on the pans.
A guest from Torrance, California recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 My husband and I took our three teenage boys to Pine Mountain Lake as a gateway to Yosemite. The house worked out very well. It was wonderful to have a kitchen, dining room, and grill for the food prep. The house is very close to the fisherman's dock, which our boys used constantly. We made use of the Marina beach area, the Water Taxi, the sailboat rentals, the Marina, and Fisherman's Cove. The games room at the house was a big hit--especially the basketball throwing game. We would certainly stay here again.
A guest from Weimar, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 On the surface, the rental was clean. It doesn't feel like it get a thorough "spring" cleaning, based on the condition of the furnishings, the dust and dead bugs under the couch. There were ants coming through the wall in the master bedroom, leaving a pile of dust near the bed and sliding glass door. There were other issues with outside garbage being full, but when reported they were taken care of promptly. Outside the house off the deck has not been cleaned/maintained.
A guest from San Jose, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in May, 2013 The home itself was just ok. It had some maintenance issues upon checking in which I disclosed to the staff on checkout. I was hoping for a rental that felt lived in and homey, this one felt cold. First one I've stayed in that did not have the cupboards full of misc. spices, etc. Felt unused and unlived in. I've stayed at another rental in PML which was maintenance issues, full cupboards, etc. I will return and rent from Custom Rentals again, but would not stay in this home nor recommend it.
Pine Mountain Rentals is OUTSTANDING.., A+ all the way!!!
Mark S. from Ventura, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 From initial booking to checkout, Rebecca and Tory were absolutely outstanding! They were both very accommodating to our specific needs and went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were not able to check in on the expected date. However, Rebecca immediately offered to extend the reservation by one night to ensure that we received our money's worth. We had a wonderful time in a very beautiful setting, and will definitely use Pine Mountain Custom Rentals again if given the opportunity! Thanks again!!
Arthur T. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 Across the street from our property made it convenient for the Th-Sun event. Will probably do the same next year. ThanksArt T
A guest from TRACY, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 Home was very clean, quite, and had everything we needed. Location was a bit too far from the main gate, especially looking for it at night otherwise the property was nice. Great alternative to staying in Yosemite which is about an hour away.
Steven L. from Ukiah, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 The house is in very good condition and well kept up. The ping pong table downstairs is in good shape and was a good addition. The kitchen had one pot and a lot of pans (good enough).Bring your own salt and spices. The only negative is the Rental Company pricing scheme: a $430 rental ended up at $700+ due to things that should be included in the advertised price; cleaning, sheets & towels, car passes.
Property Manager Response: Response from Pine Mountain Custom Rentals Our rental company discloses all fees upfront. We also advertise all fees. Fees were explained and were accepted by you.
Carol B. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 The property management folks were very friendly and professional. The house was very clean and the linens provided were quality. I would say that the pots and pans could be improved upon....they were limited and not in the best condition. Plentiful dishes and cups. The locations was superb...just a short walk to the lake. Beautiful surroundings....nice quiet area/neighbors. Overall experience was very positive...would definitely return!!!!
A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 Wonderful stay - very close to Lodge Beach - perfect for the little kids. air conditioning worked well, never ran out of hot water, all appliances worked. Small issue in the kitchen -the lower cabinets with cookware had some greasy looking shelves and the frying pans not very good. Plenty of tea/coffee cups and bowls, plates of different sizes. Enough silverware and even some large carving knives. dish towels were provided.enough toiletries. The master bedroom shower door didn't close properly, but the management took notes. The bedrooms were very spacious and mattresses comfortable. There was a weak but persistent scent in the kids' bedroom. The mattresses seemed new and clean, we couldn't figure out the source. The bunk beds are IKEA brand and could use some maintenance - the ladder was no longer properly attached to one of the beds, but management took notes. The terrace had hatched roof, two recliners and two folding chairs plus a large wooden picnic table and Weber charcoal grill available. The main terrace was solid, the back leading to the bedroom windows seemed rickety.Nice and large paved area in front of the garage was shady enough to park our car and enough room was left for the kids to ride their bikes. We saw deer, quail and squirrels from our porch. Drive to Yosemite and enjoyed the museum, library, eating out and learning more Gold Rush history at Groveland.Overall, we had a great stay at this cabin and would love to visit again! Many thanks to the management company :)
Arthur S. from Denton, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2012 We flew into SFO from Texas and chose to make the 3 hr drive out to Pine Mountian where we would stay in a cabin planning visit Yosemite. Our flight was delayed 4 hrs, and we ended up getting to PM around 10 pm. The late check in would have worked out great, except that the deck on the cabin we were assigned was being repaired, and there no way to get into the cabin. After a 15 min drive back to town, the management comapny apologized for the mix-up and gave us the keys to a new cabin. The second cabin only had a King bed and since you have to bring your own sheets, our queen sheets would not work. After another trip back we were given a third cabin, which to their credit was a huge upgrade and worked out very nicely. If you are going to rent from PMC, look closely at the cabins as there are nicer ones, and others that are not. The area was beautiful, but realize that Pine Mountian is a huge crowded development packed with vacation homes. The fact that they don't provide towels and sheets was a huge negative as we were coming from out of town and had to figure out how to pack them in our luggage. The good is that it was a manageable 30-45 minute drive to Yosemite, Groveland was a nice little town (with bars, restaurants, and a grocery store), and it was easy to find availability.
A guest from Turlock, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2011 The cabin was very clean and in a great location. Plenty of parking and close to the Pine Mountain Lake Lodge. The kitchen was clean but lacking coffee filters, dish towels, pot holders, glasses. The pots and pans also could use updating. The bathrooms were clean but missing hand soap. We would stay in this cabin again and I would recommend this cabin to our friends.
Katerina K. from Foster City, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2011 The property is located close enough to the beach to walk with kids - took us 5 minutes of a casual walk. Overall layout and interior was ok. The only 'but' we had is the fact that there was no toilet paper almost at all. There were very few tea/coffee cups and NO glasses (wine, juice, tequila shots). There were few plastic cups but not very pleasant to drink from. Overall experience - very pleasant. Will probably stay again and bring our toilet paper and shots ))
Exterior house not maintained . Web-page kids gameroom misleading
Anna V. from Royal Palm Beach, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2011 Patio Deck was very dirty with spiders webs all over. Whole deck area needs refinishing. Web-page was misleading: it did not clarify that the only way to get into kids game room (pool table etc.) was to get outside of the house to the basement to get into game-room. Though basement was airconditioned is was highly infested by mildew. The mildew odor was very strong and is an unhealthy situation requiring immediate attention. The Living room furniture looks heavily used. Despite all, the house was clean with brand new major appliances.
Svetlana V. from San Bruno, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2011 Overall, I am very happy with our stay and since I know the house very well I made sure we had everything we needed with us. We have been renting this house for many years and I do think that it needs a bit updating/fixing. Also more chairs, garbage containers and pillows need to be provided as a minimum. Comporters are very old and need to replaced and washed regularly.
A guest from San Mateo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2011 Staying at this house for a second year in a row. Great place, looking forward to coming back. Close to a secluded beach that is not crowded or noisy.
Great location, needs better amenities, maintenance.
A guest from Fremont, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2010 We had an overall enjoyable stay. First the pros -1. Nice property at a great location. So peaceful and nice deck outside each room. Woods in the rear. Main deck is a nice place to watch deer and birds.2. Responsive property management. Carol was very helpful. We made a late reservation and she was available for calls late night and got the property ready in time.3. Rooms and bathrooms were clean.4. Very short walk to the lake.Cons-1. Kitchen amenities could be better. No flat pans, dulled knives, no basic spices, drawers not cleaned. Found only a used utensil scrub and only 1 trash bag.Found bags of old food in the closets and refridgerator, but the house-keeper removed it when we pointed out.2. Comforters, especially in the kids rooms were not satisfactorily clean. We called property management, but they didn't have replacement. We started the vacation by washing the comforters. Btw, the laundry detergent was just sufficient to wash the comforters. Would appreciate a washed comforter for future stays.3. Guest bathroom shower was not working, but we were too busy and managed with one shower. Informed management and hopefully its fixed.4. No trash bins in the master bath. Shortage of toilet paper rolls. Had to go buy some.5. Deck outside the kids room was not cleaned. Old earbuds lying around.(Sad, since there was a beautiful view from the kids room). 6. Area rugs were grimy and table cloth looked like a cheap plastic one. Dining chairs and upholstery could do with a professinal cleaning.
A guest from Hayward, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2010 The place was kept up well except for a few minor issues. The handle fell of the shower door which was easily fixed by maintenance. For the length of stay there should have been more toilet paper. We could not switch the TV to use the DVD player. It appeared the INPUT function was not working on the control. The kitchen could have at least one more decent frying pan. The Air conditioning work very well which was a huge plus. The room with the ping pong table was musty and needed to be aired out.
A guest from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2010 The home is situated in a very nice location in Pine Mountain. VERY quiet area. The home could use a little more manintenance and a good cleaning. The deck and patio area had many spider webs and pine needles. The kitchen supplies are very limited be so be sure to bring your own. Overall a great expereience!
Sofia M. from san francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in July, 2010 We are renting this property for three years and we love it. However, I would like to suggest to replace a tea pot,buy glasses, replace a tv in the living room and the down stairs and replace the outdoor furniture. And I also would like to mention that when we arrived to this house it was so dirty and we found a bunch of clothes from the previous gusts. We started our vacation with the cleaning a house. But overall we love this property and will rent it again next year.
A guest from San Mateo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2010 We loved the property after staying there for 3 nights with our family. It's very secluded and has a hiking trail right next to it. Very close walking distance to a family-friendly lake beach. The property is in a very nice condition and has a great deck for relaxing.
A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2009 Thank you so much! My family had a wonderful vacation: we enjoyed house, lake and being together! I recommended the place already to my friends.
A guest from Sacramento, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2009 Comfortable and generally clean. Outside deck could use some attention as far as maintenance and cleaning. The "out of sight" places, such as kitchen drawers, could use some cleaning as well. Better attention couldbe given to ensure that items such as toilet paper and hand soap are fully stocked.Short walk to the swimming area was convenient. We were entertaining friends from Denmark and they were generally pleased. We appreciated a place to crash after a long day at Yosemite.
