***************************************************************
This picturesque Perigordian style village house is set at the end of a dead-lane of the mediaeval village of Daglan, 10 km from Domme.

The house has been tastefully renovated to provide comfortable accommodation up to 5 guests.

Daglan itself is verry pretty with narrow cobbled streets and honey coloured stone houses and shops. It enjoys excellent restaurants, bar, boulangerie, and it's own colored Sunday market, all set at a very convenient walking distance from the house.

Just think: you can lie in bed and send the kids to get the croissants in the mornings!

LAYOUT OF THE HOUSE:
********************

Entrance door opens to the light and spacious living room with stone walls, exposed beams, old rock sink, open fireplace (operating in automn 2008), quality furnitures. There is a TV and a large collections of video’s in English.

Adjacent is a delightful, large and fully equipped kitchen with terracota floors and its big farmhouse pine dining-kitchen

French doors are leading on to a scluded patio garden complete with garden furniture for those delicious Perigordian al fresco meals, of course!

Large wooden stairs lead to the first floor where there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a single bedroom, all with wooden flooring and decorated in light colours.

There is also a large bathroom with a bath and a WC on this level.

The golden sandstone walls are 600mm (nearly two feet) thick and this help keep the house cool in summer. During winter, the house is very cosy thanks to a full central heating.

Altogether a charming and very comfortable property set in an historic village which provides a delightful base from which to explore the Perigord and the Lot valleys.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES
****************
Daglan's Celtic name means 'Good beautiful valley'. The village is idealy set 20 km from Sarlat and less than 10 kilometres from Domme, in the verdant green valley of the River Ceou. As it is in the south of the Dordogne, Daglan is ideally situated for exploring both the Dordogne and the Lot.

Daglan is set only 5 minutes stroll from a peaceful river beach and leafy park with stone barbecue by the crystal-clear River Ceou. The River Dordogne is only 7 km away for more swimming, canoeing and picnics or, if you prefer, a swimming pool in the gardens of Josephine Baker's Chateau Millande, only 10 km away. For walkers, there is many paths from the house to the ancient sites in the hills or along the river valley.

The village has a boulangerie, general store, post office, restaurant and bar. It also has a small museum, a tourist centre and a large colored market on the Sunday mornings.

So much to do and see in this beautiful area; many bastide towns and medieval villages in the beautiful countryside.

There are many activities round and about including golf, canoeing, walking, horse riding, hot air ballooning, go-karting, tennis and fishing.

The Dordogne has a good climate for holiday makers most of the year –Spring is sunny but changeable, with May and June absolute perfection. Summer is hot and busy but ideal for canoeing on the Dordogne. September and October see fine weather and the all-important grape harvest. Winters are usually wet and mild but ideal for cozying up in front of the log burning fire and sampling the wines harvested in the months before.
