Our home is well situated in the heart of the Vendée countryside, on the edge of the Mervent forest and the Poitevin marshes (not far from the "Venise Verte" Green Venice, easy flat walks alongside the canals). Foussais Payré is classed as a "Petite Cité de Caractère" Little town of character - with its 11/12th century church front, the Priory, and Renaissance houses.

You will no doubt appreciate being here for the "Nuits Musicales en Vendée Romane" the musical evenings in Roman Vendée - 6 concerts during July and August.

In the area, you can visit the Abbeys at Nieul sur l'Autize and Maillezais, and you will appreciate the church parvis and the sights at Vouvant. Only 50 kms away, the Puy du Fou Grand Parc and La Rochelle.
