This romantic Spanish Cortijo retreat with its traditional charm, provides the ultimate five star ‘home from home’ experience, a welcoming atmosphere and attentive and discreet personal service for up to 20 guests, Hacienda la Alhaja enjoys a unique location overlooking the stunning El Torcal Natural Park, an area famed for its outstanding natural beauty.
Guests can chill out in this relaxed and totally private estate and be assured of a memorable holiday with family or groups of friends.
The main house has 8 ensuite bedrooms, individually styled with luxury beds, soft linen, designer toiletries, flat screen television, DVD and CD. Each bedroom pays tribute to a famous Spanish artist , all have been furnished in a traditional Andalucian style, with some contemporary touches.
The main salon is stunningly furnished , has a large stone fireplace and superbly comfortable sofas and chairs arranged into various seating areas. There is a cosy dining room with fireplace , perfect for the cooler nights of early spring and autmn , and a spectacular dining terrace, which has panoramic views. The main house has a fully equipped professional kitchen and laundry room. The property benefits from underfloor heating and air conditioning in the main rooms and some bedrooms. All rooms have overhead ceiling fans. Due to its location at 845 metres above sea level, the Cortijo enjoys balmy pleasant night time temperatures of around 22 ºc in July and August. Steps down from the main house , lead to the pool and terraces with their amazing views to the El Torcal Park. There is a fully equipped pool house, which has a kitchen, showers and toilets, a bar , large gas barbeque , a covered dining terrace, fully equipped with dining table and chairs for 20. Family television room, equipped with large flat screen tv , dvd and various games - playstation , WII and sauna is also located in the poolhouse. From the poolside terrace there is the access to the all weather tennis court. Tennis lessons can be arranged locally with ex British Davis Cup tennis player John Paish. There is an additional annex , which is accessed from the inner entrance courtyard, offering a further 2 ensuite bedrooms , a living room and private terrace with jacuzzi, sunbeds and sitting area.
. From La Posada del Torcal you can access the staggering natural beauty and restorative qualities of the glorious Andalucian countryside , or simply melt into a sunlounger by the pool and lose yourself in a good book – or the view!
For the ultimate pampering experience, we can arramnge for massage adn beauty treatments for guests at the house, We can also organise private pilates lessons for our guests during their stay …….. then there is our sauna room, poolside jacuzzi , our 12 x 6 metre heated swimming pool and for the more energetic our all weather artificial grass tennis court and mountain bikes for you to explore the surrounding countryside.
Horseriding for groups of 2 or more can also be aranged locally.
For golf enthusiast , the Antequera Golf course is located 16klm away from the Cortijo. Clubs can be rented from the golf club

The weekly rates includes 3 hours daily maid service
All linen and towels . including pool towels are provided.
Damage deposit of 500 € is payable on arrival to the estate manager and will be refunded on departure once the property has been checked

Full catering option –
We can offer a fully catered all inclusive villa rental option where professional staff come to the villa and provide a full catering service of lunch and dinner daily, all prepared, cooked, served and cleared away, ensuring that everyone can relax and enjoy their holiday. The price includes wine, beer and soft drinks, nuts and crisps and a fridge full of ice cream. The price is 550 euros per person per week on top of the rental rates..
Partial catering option -
Alternatively we can provide one three course meal per day for 30 euros per person. None of the catering options are included in the weekly rental rates
All meals are prepared by a professional chef , we have a large range of menus for guests to choose from . The chef prepares any style of food required. He can also offer Spansh cookery lessons by arrangement.
