Stayed for 3 days in December, 2015 Overall our stay was pleasant. The view was exactly as described by the company. When booking our room the management was very helpful. However, the room itself is in need of major updating and repair, from the torn curtains, broken shade slats to the broken vanity door in the bathroom. It could be so nice with new decor throughout. It is a charming hotel with a lot of history. The lobby is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. So overall we were happy with our stay after all it is Hawaii! We would recommend the hotel to our friends with a little heads up at what to expect.

Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 The entrance and lobby to the Ilikai are fantastic. The location is great. But the room we stayed in was extremely dated. The toilet always took about 3 or 4 times to do the job. The sliding doors to the lanai were almost impossible to open, the one on the right especially. Could use a TV channel guide also. But it was nice to have a couple beach chairs and bogie boards in the closet. The check out list on the fridge had us doing EVERYTHING except washing the sheets, even taking out the trash! I'm not sure why there is a $100 cleaning fee for us cleaning the unit? Great view from the Lanai when we could manage to open the left door but the Lanai was extremely dirty with grime and bird droppings all over the railings and patio furniture.I like the idea of a condo rental and may do it again but would be hesitant to rent here again. Great location, not so great inside A guest from Palo Alto, CA recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in November, 2014 The location and the view is excellent. That was beyond my expectation. But not much about the inside, the furniture is old, not enough blankets, not very clean. It has a king size bed. Sofa is almost usable for short people. There is a very old fold-up-mattress-chair-top (I really don't know what it is) for one more person to sleep on. But, there are not enough blankets for four people. Bring yours since no one returned our call for extra blankets. Overall, you get what you paid for. Cheaper than 3-star hotels for four people, but inside is like 1-star hotel. Location is 4-star. In summary, I will rent it again, bring my blankets, and spend most of the day outside. For parking, the Ilikai hotel has a 24 hour valet (unlimited in and out) for $28. Close to the beach, there is a public parking for about $1 per hour. Depending on the day of the week, you may get better rates ($12 for 24 hours). Parking is expensive in that area and valet is worth it.

Stayed for 6 days in April, 2014 We really enjoyed our stay on Oahu. The location of the condo was fantastic. Walking distance to most places and right on a bus route for the rest. It was a bit crowded for 4 adults and a bit dated but the location more than made up for that. Overall very enjoyable

Stayed for 7 days in April, 2014 Property was in poor state of maintenance. Patio doors did not close properly or lock. Paint pas peeling. Plaster was coming off walls. Utensils & dishes were generally not cleaned well enough and were greasy.Property management company was closed after arrival and on weekend, so could not relay our feelings about the place or get pass to pool. Except for view, was not what we expected.

Stayed for 58 days in December, 2013 Great location for someone who is older and can't get in and out of the ocean, we swam in the lagoon. Condo needs new bedding, pillows, bath mat, we bought a new coffee maker, wine glasses and dish rack, draining bd also a few other things for the kitchen, good internet, lanai only 2 chairs but that worked for us as we had no company for dinner, great view we have stayed here several times, I don't mind buying items when we are there for 2 months.

Stayed for 8 days in December, 2013 I loved the location and the view, can't complain there. And the Ilikai resort was perfect for me and my family, having a pool and restaurant on the site. It was nice to walk to the beach everyday, very easy access to beach and Ala Moana. The condo itself, served it's purpose but definitely could use some upkeep. I will list Pro's and Con's:Pros:- Location is perfect- View was beautiful- Great amenities in the Ilikai- Airconditioned- Great view for fireworks on FridayCons:- Balcony door would not close (very dangerous)- Shower is very weak, needs new shower head (cheap showerhead)- Kitchen utensils could use some update - Couch and Chair had stains on them, should be replacedWe definitely enjoyed our stay, but I think we may look at another condo next time.

Stayed for 6 days in July, 2013 Ocean view. Great location. ONLY bad thing was that a 1 bedroom is really not a 1 bedroom. The sliding partition is what makes it 2 rooms. No big deal, it was Hawaii and with the ocean view it didnt matter.

Stayed for 6 days in July, 2013 The unit is outdated. The view is amazing. I was upset that the property manager didn't address my concerns and issues while I was there and hasn't responded to my emails since.Another member of the family had a unit on a lower floor but facing the same side and I must say their unit was much more cozy. The couch cushions, blankets, towels were stained and could use replacing.I could provide a list of little issues that bothered me for the price but I'd rather not. I paid to have a place to sleep and cook meals and it sufficed in that regard. Still wish management would have worked with me or at the very least acknowledged that my points were valid.

Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 We did book into another condo at the Ilikai but were told on arrival that we were to be moved. Our concern was soon allayed as the condo was overall a great experience.Getting in and out of the room was made easy with a coded entry unit. Just a number to remember and no keys to lose. The condo is on the Diamond Head wing which gives great views forward to the lagoon and over to a small area of Waikiki beach. Hilton fireworks diplay on Fridays, plus Hilton Luau on some week nights keep the entertainment level up. You dont get the sun till a bit later in the morning but that to us was a bit of a bonus. Views at night are more limited as the Hilton blocks the long views out.Pros for the condo. Resonably well equipped kitchen, Comfortable large bed, lounge suit comfortable, Views great.Cons. Sliding door to Lanai was incredibly hard to open, plus impossible to close completely as it must have a collapsed roller system. Goodness knows what it would be like in a rainstorm. Air con is very dated. Still works but very noisy when it turns on and off. Dated but adequate Kitchen and Bathroom. Carpet could do with a good steam clean

Stayed for 4 days in October, 2012 Our over all stay was really great. Gloria was very hepfull. Thank you. We were gratefull to have this space at a very trying time. The rug was still wet from being cleaned when we arrived, but better than dirty. The owner of the condo should really address the sliding door to the balcony. It was extremely hard to open or close. It is bad enough that someone could really hurt themselves while trying to open or close the door. The airconditioning unit is sending rusty water across the deck and is extremely noisy and is very antiquated.

Stayed for 9 days in July, 2012 I booked 3 apartments in Illikai for a family reunion,1 one bedroom which was great, 1 two bedroom which was substandard and this one bedroom which was just adequate. The great apartment was the same cost as this apartment which had furnishings and fittings which were tired and dated. I was very surprised and most unhappy that I was paying the same for this apartment as the great one.A stone bench doesn't modernise a kitchen, the cupboards were as old as the building, inside the kitchen cupboard were 9 varieties of mismatched cups and mugs, it looked like a junk shop.Pots and pans had there coating peeling off or were too marked to use. Loads of sheets, unfortunately only the set on the bed actually fitted the bed, and loads of towels folded but not all were clean. Two lights in the bathroom didn't work, it was a struggle to open both the shower and balcony doors. There was also loud static interference from the TV. I've stayed in the Illikai in the past and had a wonderful experience. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2012 Aloha and mahalo! We enjoyed the location, convenience & general comfort of unit 1614. Good quality for the price. Glad to have even numbered unit that faces water and not street. Lanai, view of lagoon and ocean, short walk to beach are superb. Bus right outside front door was a plus as well In comparison with other condo stays, a reasonable investment in new sets of kitchenware and sheets (getting pretty worn) would add to overall comfort and stay.

TV was small and has limited channels. The resort itself was nice and in a good location. No one mentioned the $25 a night valet fee. That may influence someone staying here - it's kind of expensive. The bathroom needs a fan ! There was no maid service and we emptied our own trash. No one told us where to dump it, we found the trash room on our own. I on't know what the $80 cleaning fee was for. We left the place as clean as we found it, except for the towels we used. Overall we had a good trip.
