Vacation Condo Rental Description:
The Ilikai is located at the Waikiki Beach gateway and overlooks the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor. It is minutes from downtown Honolulu and one block from the Hawaii Convention Center and the Ala Moana Shopping Center. The Ilikai is an internationally-recognized hotel as the famous opening shot of Hawaii Five-O was filmed here. The open-air lobby and relaxing courtyard leads you on a pathway to the beach. The staff at Canoe's Restaurant and Bar greets you as you enter the courtyard as they share the Aloha spirit. A relaxing place to get a quick bite to eat or enjoy a Mai Tai while enjoying the breathtaking views. Sarento's Top of the 'I' offers sky-high dining and elegant Italian cuisine. The new Japanese restaurant, Morimoto's, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is known for its' superb cuisine. Enjoy Hawaiian entertainment Friday evenings and the 40-year-old torch lighting ceremony every evening, with a bird's eye view of the fireworks show every Friday night following the hula show. The property also offers a swimming pool, tennis court, coffee shop, and gift shop/general store. All of our Ilikai condos have balconies and full kitchens. Room amenities include wireless Internet, air-conditioning, alarm clocks, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hairdryers, cable TV, and most rooms also offer beach equipment. Valet or self-parking available for a fee. There is coin-operated laundry facilities located on every floor of the Ilikai.

Great view at a great price in Ilikai 1614 Alan & Yvonne J. from Bethlehem, Tauranga recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 We did book into another condo at the Ilikai but were told on arrival that we were to be moved. Our concern was soon allayed as the condo was overall a great experience.Getting in and out of the room was made easy with a coded entry unit. Just a number to remember and no keys to lose. The condo is on the Diamond Head wing which gives great views forward to the lagoon and over to a small area of Waikiki beach. Hilton fireworks diplay on Fridays, plus Hilton Luau on some week nights keep the entertainment level up. You dont get the sun till a bit later in the morning but that to us was a bit of a bonus. Views at night are more limited as the Hilton blocks the long views out.Pros for the condo. Resonably well equipped kitchen, Comfortable large bed, lounge suit comfortable, Views great.Cons. Sliding door to Lanai was incredibly hard to open, plus impossible to close completely as it must have a collapsed roller system. Goodness knows what it would be like in a rainstorm. Air con is very dated. Still works but very noisy when it turns on and off. Dated but adequate Kitchen and Bathroom. Carpet could do with a good steam clean |

We were gratefull to have this space at a very trying time. The rug was still wet from being cleaned when we arrived, but better than dirty. The owner of the condo should really address the sliding door to the balcony. It was extremely hard to open or close. It is bad enough that someone could really hurt themselves while trying to open or close the door. The airconditioning unit is sending rusty water across the deck and is extremely noisy and is very antiquated. |

Excellent location but no one seems to care about it. Dirty carpets, bathroom and kitchen have 50 year old cabinets!! Bed linens are disgraceful, Greyish former white color and pulled sheets and pillow cases are not at all inviting. I will go to the ilikai again it not this unit in it's present condition. |

It's a lottery what you'll get Reviewed by: Brian D. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 9 days in July, 2012 I booked 3 apartments in Illikai for a family reunion,1 one bedroom which was great, 1 two bedroom which was substandard and this one bedroom which was just adequate.The great apartment was the same cost as this apartment which had furnishings and fittings which were tired and dated. I was very surprised and most unhappy that I was paying the same for this apartment as the great one.A stone bench doesn't modernise a kitchen, the cupboards were as old as the building, inside the kitchen cupboard were 9 varieties of mismatched cups and mugs, it looked like a junk shop.Pots and pans had there coating peeling off or were too marked to use. Loads of sheets, unfortunately only the set on the bed actually fitted the bed, and loads of towels folded but not all were clean.Two lights in the bathroom didn't work, it was a struggle to open both the shower and balcony doors. There was also loud static interference from the TV. I've stayed in the Illikai in the past and had a wonderful experience. The lack of care by the owner/ management company has certainly clouded my thoughts on coming back |

We enjoyed the location, convenience & general comfort of unit 1614. Good quality for the price. Glad to have even numbered unit that faces water and not street. Lanai,view of lagoon and ocean, short walk to beach are superb. Bus right outside front door was a plus as well In comparison with other condo stays, a reasonable investment in new sets of kitchenware and sheets (getting pretty worn) would add to overall comfort and stay. |

OK for the money Reviewed by: David R. recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2012 The condo is OLD ! Needs to be updated. The wooden shutters covering the sliding glass doors are old, beat-up and fragile. The furniture is old and worn. TV was small and has limited channels. The resort itself was nice and in a good location. No one mentioned the $25 a night valet fee. That may influence someone staying here - it's kind of expensive. The bathroom needs a fan ! There was no maid service and we emptied our own trash. No one told us where to dump it, we found the trash room on our own. I on't know what the $80 cleaning fee was for. We left the place as clean as we found it, except for the towels we used. Overall we had a good trip. |

There's never enough soap or shampoo for more than a 2 day stay, so bring your own. The management company is very easy to work with, although often there are delays getting access to the unit once you arrive. I would suggest an upgrade in the bed linens but, other than that, it's comfortably furnished. Overall, a very good value. I've referred others on many occasions and will return again. |

The things that did not meet our standard were the shower (shower head especially) that drizzled, the sliding door that would only open about a foot, the stained sheets, no mattress pad on the bed, faulty kitchen faucet, and substandard kitchen wares. We purchased a new set of sheets and ate out most of the time so all went well. |
