High above the cares of the world at the top of the famous and beautiful village of Menerbes in the heart of the Luberon.The light and views over the valley to the Luberon mountain are amazing and inspiring, whether from the bedroom, living room, balcony or sun terrace. The house has one bedroom and is very well equipped and furnished, with hand-made tiles and furniture, and a hand-made kitchen. There are also modern touches like wireless interent and satellite TV, with VCR/DVD player. As well as the terrace there is an off-street parking spot, which is something or a rarity in these medieval villages. Menerbes is where Peter Mayle wrote "A Year in Provence", it is a perfect little unspoilt Provence hill-top village with bakery, butcher, grocery, a few restaurants and a cafe. All around are the other hill-top villages of the Luberon: Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Lourmarin, as well as Isle sur la Sorgue (France's antiques capital) and Fontaine de Vaucluse where the Sorgue river comes gushing out of the ground. Within an hour are Arles, Nimes, Avignon, Aix en Provence, Les Baux, Orange, Mont Ventoux, St Remy, and within two hours are the Cote d'Azur, Camargue, Gorges du Verdon and Rhone wine trail.
